³⁹ for the promise is to you and to your children, yea and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

²⁵ Now ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant, which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, "And in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed:" ²⁶ and to you first God having raised up his son Jesus, sent Him to bless you; in your turning away every one of you from your iniquities.

⁴⁵ And those of the circumcision that were believers, who came with Peter, were astonished, that the gift of the holy Spirit was conferred upon the Gentiles also:

¹⁵ And when I began to speak, the holy Spirit fell on them, even as it did upon us at the beginning. ¹⁶ Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the holy Spirit. ¹⁷ As therefore God gave to them the like gift that He did to us, upon our believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I should be able to withstand God? ¹⁸ And when they heard these things they acquiesced, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God given to the Gentiles also repentance unto life.

²⁷ And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they related what God had done by them, and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.

³ They therefore, being brought forward on their way by the church, passed through Phenicia and Samaria, relating the conversion of the Gentiles: and they gave great joy to all the brethren.

⁸ And God who knoweth the heart, bare witness to them, giving them the holy Spirit, as He had done also to us:

¹⁴ ---Simeon hath related, how God at first condescended to take out of the Gentiles a people to his name.

³⁰ and whom He called, these he also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

⁴ who are Israelites, whose is the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the form of divine worship, and the promises:

²⁴ whom He hath also called, even us, not only of the Jews, but also of the Gentiles.

¹⁶ Now if the first-fruits be holy, so is the whole heap: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. ¹⁷ But if some of the branches were broken off, and thou a wild-olive wert grafted in among them, and art made a partaker together with them of the root and fatness of the olive; boast not against the branches:

²⁹ For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

¹⁴ For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the husband: else were your children unclean; but they are holy.

¹⁸ and enlighten the eyes of your understanding; that ye may know, what is the hope of his calling, and how rich the glory of his inheritance in the saints;

¹³ ye, who were formerly afar off, are made nigh by the blood of Christ. ¹⁴ For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and removed the wall of partition from between us; ¹⁵ having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that He might form the two into one new man, in Himself, so making peace; ¹⁶ and that He might reconcile both in one body unto God, by the cross, having thereby slain the enmity: ¹⁷ and He came and preached peace to you that were afar off, and to them that were nigh. ¹⁸ For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. ¹⁹ Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the houshold of God; ²⁰ being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner-stone: ²¹ in whom the whole building fitly joined together increaseth to an holy temple in the Lord: ²² in whom ye also are built up together for an habitation of God by the Spirit.

⁵ which in other generations was not made known to men, as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; that the Gentiles should be co-heirs, ⁶ and of the same body, and joint-partakers of his promise in Christ, by the gospel: ⁷ of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God conferred on me by the effectual operation of his power. ⁸ On me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace bestowed, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

⁴ even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

¹¹ Wherefore we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:

¹³ But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord; because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation, through sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth: ¹⁴ to which He hath called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁹ who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose, and grace bestowed upon us through Christ Jesus, before the world was,

¹ Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the apostle and high-priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

¹⁵ And on this account He is the mediator of a new covenant, that undergoing death for the redemption of transgressions against the first covenant, they that are called might receive the promise of an eternal inheritance.

¹⁰ But may the God of all grace, who hath called us to his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after ye have suffered a little while, make you perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

³ as his divine power hath given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who hath called us by that glory and virtue,

¹⁰ Wherefore, my brethren, be the more diligent thus to make your calling and election sure; for if ye do these things ye shall never fall.

¹⁴ These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and those that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

⁹ And he said unto me, Write, Happy they who are invited to the marriage-supper of the Lamb. And he said unto me, These are the true words of God.
