⁸ Be ye also patient, establish your hearts; for the coming of the Lord is near.

²⁵ but if we hope for what we see not, then we wait for it with patience.

¹¹ And this let us observe, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than when we first believed. ¹² The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering,

⁵ Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

¹⁰ and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivereth us from the wrath to come.

¹³ that your hearts may be established unblameable in holiness, before God even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, with all his saints.

⁵ And may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ.

²⁵ not forsaking our assemblies, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more as ye see the day approaching. ²⁶ For if we sin wilfully after having received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins; ²⁷ but a dreadful expectation of judgement, and a fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. ²⁸ If any one that violateth the law of Moses, dieth without mercy under two or three witnesses, ²⁹ of how much greater punishment, think ye, shall he be counted worthy, who hath trampled under foot the Son of God, and accounted the blood of the covenant, by which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and abused the Spirit of grace? ³⁰ For we know who hath said, "To me belongeth vengeance, I will recompense, saith the Lord:" and again, "The Lord will judge his people." ³¹ It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. ³² But call to remembrance the former days, in which after being enlightened, ye sustained a great conflict of sufferings; ³³ partly, being made a public spectacle by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, as ye became associates of those who were so treated: ³⁴ for ye sympathized with me in my bonds, and ye took joyfully the plundering of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance. ³⁵ Cast not away therefore your couragious profession, which hath a great recompence of reward. ³⁶ For ye have need of patience, that having done the will of God ye may receive the promise. ³⁷ For yet a little while, and He, that is coming, will come, and will not delay:

⁹ Repine not, my brethren, against each other, that ye be not condemned: behold, the judge is at the door.

⁷ But the end of all things draws nigh: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer:

²⁰ He who testifieth these things saith, I surely come quickly. Amen, even so come, Lord Jesus.
