¹⁸ and the son of man shall be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they shall condemn Him to death,

²¹ And from that time began Jesus to acquaint his disciples, that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, and chief priests, and scribes; and be put to death, and be raised again on the third day.

²² And while they were in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, the Son of man is to be delivered into the hands of men: ²³ and they will put Him to death, and the third day He shall be raised again. And they were exceedingly grieved.

² Ye know that after two days the passover is to be kept,---and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

⁶⁶ and they answered, He ought to be put to death.

¹ And as soon as it was morning all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus, how to get Him executed:

⁶⁴ ye have heard the blasphemy; what think ye? and they all condemned Him as worthy of death. ⁶⁵ And they spit upon Him, and blind-folded Him, and then buffeted Him and said to Him, prophesy who it was: and the officers struck him with their rods.

⁷¹ And He said unto them, I am. And they said, What need have we of any farther evidence? when we ourselves have it from his own mouth?

²³ (as ye yourselves also know,) Him being given up by the determinate counsel and fore-knowlege of God ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain.

²⁷ For of a truth both Herod and Pontius Pilate, the Gentiles and the people of Israel, combined against thy holy child Jesus, ²⁸ (whom Thou hast anointed,) to do whatever thy hand and thy counsel had before determined to be done.
