¹⁹ Go ye therefore and instruct all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Ghost,

¹⁶ Then he permitted Him. And Jesus as soon as He was baptized came up from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened unto Him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and coming upon Him: ¹⁷ and lo, a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

⁵² Therefore every teacher, who has been thus instructed in the knowledge of the kingdom of heaven, is like a master of a family, who brings forth out of his store things new and old.

¹⁵ And He said unto them, Go to all the world and preach the gospel to every one: ¹⁶ he that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved; but he that believeth not, shall be condemned.

⁴⁷ and that in his name should be preached repentance and remission of sins to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. ⁴⁸ And ye are witnesses of these things: and I will send upon you the promise of my Father;

⁸ But ye shall receive power from the holy Spirit coming upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth.

³⁸ And Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the holy Spirit: ³⁹ for the promise is to you and to your children, yea and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

⁴¹ They therefore that received his word with readiness were baptized: and in that same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

¹² But as they believed Philip, preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women; ¹³ and Simon himself also believed, and was baptized, and kept constantly with Philip: and beholding the signs and miracles that were wrought, he was amazed. ¹⁴ Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John: ¹⁵ who when they were come down prayed for them that they might receive the holy Spirit: (for He was not yet fallen upon any of them, ¹⁶ only they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus:) and then they laid their hands on them,

³⁶ And as they went on their way, they came to a certain water: and the eunuch said, See here is water, what hindereth me from being baptized? ³⁷ And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. ³⁸ And he ordered the chariot to stop: and they both went down to the water, Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

¹⁸ And immediately there fell from his eyes as it were scales; and he instantly recovered his sight, and arose and was baptized.

⁴⁷ Then said Peter, Can any one forbid water, that these persons should not be baptized, who have received the holy Spirit, as well as we? ⁴⁸ And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. And they desired him to stay there some days.

⁴⁶ Then Paul and Barnabas boldly said, It was necessary that the word of God should be first spoken to you; but since ye reject it, and judge not yourselves worthy of eternal life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles: ⁴⁷ for so the Lord hath commanded us, saying, "I have appointed thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation to the utmost part of the earth."

²¹ And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, and Iconium, and Antioch;

¹⁵ And when she was baptized and her family, she requested us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and lodge there. And she constrained us. ¹⁶ Now as we were going to the place of prayer, there met us a young woman that had a spirit of divination, who brought her masters much gain by soothsaying. ¹⁷ She following Paul and us, cried out, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, who shew us the way of salvation. ¹⁸ And this she did for many days. But Paul being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. ¹⁹ And he came out that instant. And when her masters saw, that the hope of their gain was gone, they seized on Paul and Silas, and dragged them into the court to the magistrates. ²⁰ And when they brought them to the governors, they said, These men cause great disturbance in our city, for they are Jews, and teach customs, ²¹ which it is not lawful for us to receive, nor practise, who are Romans. ²² And the populace rose up together against them: and the officers stripped off their clothes, and ordered them to be scourged. ²³ And when they had given them many stripes, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely. ²⁴ Who having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. ²⁵ Now in the middle of the night Paul and Silas were praying and singing praises to God, and the prisoners heard them. ²⁶ And on a sudden there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bonds were loosed. ²⁷ The jailor waking, and seeing the prison-doors open, drew his sword and was going to kill himself, thinking that the prisoners were fled. ²⁸ But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. ²⁹ Then he called for lights, and sprang in, and being in a tremor fell down before Paul and Silas: ³⁰ and bringing them out, he said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? ³¹ And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thine house. ³² And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all in his family. ³³ And he took them at that very time of the night, and bathed their stripes: and was baptized, he and all his immediately after.

³ And he said unto them, Into what then were ye baptized? And they said, Into the baptism of John. ⁴ Then said Paul, John indeed baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people, that they should believe in Him that was coming after him, that is, in Christ Jesus. ⁵ And when they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

²⁸ Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it.

³ Know ye not, that as many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ, were baptized into his death? ⁴ Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also should walk in newness of life:

¹⁸ But I say, Have they not heard? Verily their sound is gone out into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.

¹³ Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized into the name of Paul? ¹⁴ I thank God that I baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius: ¹⁵ so that no one can say I baptized in my own name. ¹⁶ I also baptized indeed the family of Stephanas: but I know not whether I baptized any other.

⁴ Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit: and there are different offices, but the same Lord: ⁵ and there are diversities of operations, ⁶ but it is the same God who worketh them all in every one.

²⁹ Besides, what shall they do who are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why then are they baptized for the dead?

¹⁴ and the love of God, and the communication of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

²⁷ For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ, have put on Christ:

¹⁸ For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

²³ if so be ye continue grounded and settled in the faith, and be not moved from the gospel, which ye have heard, and which hath been preached throughout the whole creation, of which I Paul am a minister.

²¹ The resemblance of which, even baptism, doth also now save us, (not the outward cleansing of filth from the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience towards God) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

⁷ Yea there are three that bear witness, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood:

⁴ John to the seven churches in Asia---Grace and peace be to you, from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; ⁵ and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the first-born from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, ⁶ and hath made us kings and priests to his God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
