² But leave the outer court of the temple, and measure it not, for it is given to the gentiles: and they shall trample on the holy city forty two months.

⁵ Then the devil taketh Him into the holy city, and setteth Him on a wing of the temple,

¹³ Ye are the salt of the earth, but if the salt be grown insipid, wherewith shall it be seasoned? it is no longer fit for any thing, but to be thrown out of doors, and trodden under foot.

⁵³ and coming out of the graves, after his resurrection, went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

²⁴ and they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and be led captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trampled down by the Gentiles, till the times of the Gentiles too shall be fulfilled.

³ Let not any one deceive you by any means; for it shall not come till there come an apostasy first, and the man of sin be revealed, ⁴ the son of perdition, who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or the object of worship; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. ⁵ Do ye not remember, that when I was with you, I told you these things? ⁶ And ye know what now hindereth him from being revealed in his own time. ⁷ For the mystery of iniquity is already working, only there is one that hindreth till he be taken out of the way. ⁸ And then the wicked one shall be detected, whom the Lord will destroy by the breath of his mouth, and abolish by the brightness of his coming: ⁹ who comes, through the efficacy of Satan, with all kind of lying power, and signs, ¹⁰ and wonders, and with all iniquitous fraud, among those that shall perish; because they received not the love of the truth, by which they might be saved. ¹¹ And for this cause God will send upon them the efficacy of error, so that they shall themselves believe the lie: ¹² that they may all be condemned, who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in iniquity.

¹ Now the Spirit expressly saith, that in latter times some shall apostatize from the faith, attending to seducing spirits, ² and doctrines of demons founded in the hypocrisy of liars, who are seared in their own conscience, forbidding to marry, ³ and enjoining abstinence from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving by those that believe and know the truth.

¹ But this know, that in the last days there will be difficult times; ² for men will be selfish, covetous, arrogant, proud, blasphemers, undutiful to parents, ungrateful, unholy, ³ without natural affection, perfidious, false accusers, intemperate, savage, enemies to the good, traitors, ⁴ headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God, ⁵ having a form of godliness, but strangers to the power of it: from such turn away. ⁶ For of these are they who insinuate themselves into families, and captivate weak women, that are laden with sins,

²⁹ of how much greater punishment, think ye, shall he be counted worthy, who hath trampled under foot the Son of God, and accounted the blood of the covenant, by which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and abused the Spirit of grace?

³ And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.

¹¹ But after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them: and they stood upon their feet, and great fear fell upon those that saw them.

⁶ And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they might nourish her there a thousand two hundred and sixty days.

¹ And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, which had seven heads and ten horns; and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the names of blasphemy. ² And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority. ³ And I saw one of his heads as it were mortally wounded, but his deadly wound was healed: and all the earth wondered and went after the beast. ⁴ And they worshipped the dragon, who gave his power to the beast, and they worshipped the beast likewise, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war against him? ⁵ And there was given him a mouth speaking great and blasphemous things, and power was given him to make war forty two months. ⁶ And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and those that dwell in heaven. ⁷ And he was permitted to make war upon the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over every tribe, and tongue, and nation. ⁸ So that all who dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. ⁹ If any one hath an ear, let him hear. Whosoever leadeth into captivity shall go away into captivity: ¹⁰ and he, that killeth with the sword, shall be slain with the sword. Here then is the patience and faith of the saints. ¹¹ And I saw another beast ascending out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb; but he spake like a dragon. ¹² And he exerciseth all the authority of the first beast in his presence; and makes the earth, and those that dwell in it, to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. ¹³ And he doth great wonders, so that even maketh fire to come down from heaven to earth in the sight of men; and deceiveth those that dwell on the earth, ¹⁴ by the signs which it was given him to do in the presence of the beast, telling the inhabitants of the earth to make an image to the beast, that had received the wound of the sword, and yet lived. ¹⁵ And he was permitted to give life to the image of the beast, that it might both speak, and cause all those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain. ¹⁶ And he maketh all, both small and great, rich and poor, free-men and slaves, to receive a mark on their right hand, or on their foreheads: and that no one might buy or sell, ¹⁷ but he that hath the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. ¹⁸ Here is wisdom required; and let him, that hath understanding, compute the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man, and his number is six hundred sixty six.

² And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, descending from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

¹⁹ and if any one take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things that are written in this book.
