¹⁰ Fear none of the things which thou wilt suffer: behold the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall suffer affliction ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

²² and ye shall be hated by all men for professing my name; but he that perseveres to the end shall certainly be saved.

²⁸ And be not afraid of them, who can only kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him, who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

¹³ But he that endures to the end, shall be saved:

³⁵ for he that would save his life, shall lose it; but he that would lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, shall save it.

¹³ And ye shall be hated by all men for my sake: but he that endures to the end shall be saved.

⁴ Now I say unto you, my friends, Be not afraid of them, that can only kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do. ⁵ But I will shew you whom ye should fear,---Fear Him, who after He hath killed, hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, fear Him. ⁶ Are not five sparrows sold for two assaries, and not one of them is forgotten before God. ⁷ Nay the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Be not therefore afraid; ye are of more worth than many sparrows.

¹² But before all these things they will lay hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues, and prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake:

¹⁶ But ye shall be betrayed even by parents, and brethren, and kindred and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death: ¹⁷ and ye will be hated by all men for my sake. ¹⁸ But not an hair of your head shall perish. ¹⁹ In your patience therefore possess your souls.

²⁵ So he, that loveth his life, shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world, shall preserve it unto life eternal.

² supper being prepared, (the devil having put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray Him) Jesus,

²⁷ And after the sop Satan entred into him. Then Jesus saith unto him, What thou dost, do quickly.

²⁴ But none of these things move me, nor do I account my life dear, so that I may finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

¹³ But Paul answered, What do ye mean, weeping and breaking my heart? for I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

²⁵ And every one that enters the lists is temperate in all things: they indeed do it that they may receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible one.

² in which ye formerly walked after the manner of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that still operates in the children of disobedience:

¹² For our conflict is not with flesh and blood only, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the world and of the darkness of this age, against wicked spirits in heavenly places.

⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished my race, I have kept the faith. ⁸ As to what remains, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me in that day: and not to me only, but also to all those who have longed for his appearance.

¹² Happy is the man who sustaineth temptation; for being approved he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.

⁶ In which ye rejoice, tho' now for a little while, if need be, ye are grieved through various trials. ⁷ That the proof of your faith, which is much more precious than of gold, (that perisheth, though tried by fire) may be found unto praise, and honor, and glory, when Jesus Christ shall be revealed:

⁴ And when the sovereign Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive an unfading crown of glory.

⁸ Be sober, be vigilant; for your adversary the devil, like a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

⁹ I know thy works and affliction and poverty (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of those that say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

¹⁰ Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which is to come upon the whole world, to try those that dwell upon the earth. ¹¹ Behold, I come quickly; hold fast what thou hast, that no one may take thy crown.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the devil and Satan, who deceiveth the whole world: he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him. ¹⁰ And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night. ¹¹ And they have overcome him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their life unto the death.

² And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority.

⁷ And he was permitted to make war upon the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over every tribe, and tongue, and nation.

¹⁵ And he was permitted to give life to the image of the beast, that it might both speak, and cause all those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain. ¹⁶ And he maketh all, both small and great, rich and poor, free-men and slaves, to receive a mark on their right hand, or on their foreheads: and that no one might buy or sell, ¹⁷ but he that hath the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
