¹⁶ having known also that a man is not declared righteous by works of law, if not through the faith of Jesus Christ, also we in Christ Jesus did believe, that we might be declared righteous by the faith of Christ, and not by works of law, wherefore declared righteous by works of law shall be no flesh.'

² Truly I have known that it is so, And what—is man righteous with God? ³ If he delight to strive with Him—He doth not answer him one of a thousand.

²⁹ I—I am become wicked; why is this? In vain I labour.

⁴ And what? is man righteous with God? And what? is he pure—born of a woman?

³ If iniquities Thou dost observe, O Lord, who doth stand? ⁴ But with Thee is forgiveness, that Thou mayest be feared.

² And enter not into judgment with Thy servant, For no one living is justified before Thee.

²⁵ And lo, a certain lawyer stood up, trying him, and saying, `Teacher, what having done, life age-during shall I inherit?' <sup>26</sup> And he said unto him, `In the law what hath been written? how dost thou read?' ²⁷ And he answering said, `Thou shalt love the Lord thy God out of all thy heart, and out of all thy soul, and out of all thy strength, and out of all thy understanding, and thy neighbour as thyself.' <sup>28</sup> And he said to him, `Rightly thou didst answer; this do, and thou shalt live.' ²⁹ And he, willing to declare himself righteous, said unto Jesus, `And who is my neighbour?'

⁶⁸ Simon Peter, therefore, answered him, `Sir, unto whom shall we go? thou hast sayings of life age-during; ⁶⁹ and we have believed, and we have known, that thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.'

³¹ and these have been written that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye may have life in his name.'

¹² and there is not salvation in any other, for there is no other name under the heaven that hath been given among men, in which it behoveth us to be saved.'

³⁸ `Let it therefore be known to you, men, brethren, that through this one to you is the forgiveness of sins declared, ³⁹ and from all things from which ye were not able in the law of Moses to be declared righteous, in this one every one who is believing is declared righteous;

¹⁷ For the righteousness of God in it is revealed from faith to faith, according as it hath been written, `And the righteous one by faith shall live,'

¹⁹ And we have known that as many things as the law saith, to those in the law it doth speak, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may come under judgment to God; ²⁰ wherefore by works of law shall no flesh be declared righteous before Him, for through law is a knowledge of sin. ²¹ And now apart from law hath the righteousness of God been manifested, testified to by the law and the prophets, ²² and the righteousness of God is through the faith of Jesus Christ to all, and upon all those believing, —for there is no difference, ²³ for all did sin, and are come short of the glory of God— ²⁴ being declared righteous freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, ²⁵ whom God did set forth a mercy seat, through the faith in his blood, for the shewing forth of His righteousness, because of the passing over of the bygone sins in the forbearance of God— ²⁶ for the shewing forth of His righteousness in the present time, for His being righteous, and declaring him righteous who is of the faith of Jesus. ²⁷ Where then is the boasting? it was excluded; by what law? of works? no, but by a law of faith: ²⁸ therefore do we reckon a man to be declared righteous by faith, apart from works of law.

³⁰ yes, also of nations; since one is God who shall declare righteous the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcision through the faith.

² for if Abraham by works was declared righteous, he hath to boast—but not before God;

⁵ and to him who is not working, and is believing upon Him who is declaring righteous the impious, his faith is reckoned—to righteousness: ⁶ even as David also doth speak of the happiness of the man to whom God doth reckon righteousness apart from works:

¹³ For not through law is the promise to Abraham, or to his seed, of his being heir of the world, but through the righteousness of faith; ¹⁴ for if they who are of law are heirs, the faith hath been made void, and the promise hath been made useless; ¹⁵ for the law doth work wrath; for where law is not, neither is transgression.

²⁴ but also on ours, to whom it is about to be reckoned—to us believing on Him who did raise up Jesus our Lord out of the dead,

⁸ and God doth commend His own love to us, that, in our being still sinners, Christ did die for us; ⁹ much more, then, having been declared righteous now in his blood, we shall be saved through him from the wrath;

³ for what the law was not able to do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, His own Son having sent in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, did condemn the sin in the flesh,

³⁰ and whom He did fore-appoint, these also He did call; and whom He did call, these also He declared righteous; and whom He declared righteous, these also He did glorify.
³¹ What, then, shall we say unto these things? if God is for us, who is against us? ³² He who indeed His own Son did not spare, but for us all did deliver him up, how shall He not also with him the all things grant to us? ³³ Who shall lay a charge against the choice ones of God? God is He that is declaring righteous, ³⁴ who is he that is condemning? Christ is He that died, yea, rather also, was raised up; who is also on the right hand of God—who also doth intercede for us.

³⁰ What, then, shall we say? that nations who are not pursuing righteousness did attain to righteousness, and righteousness that is of faith,

¹¹ And certain of you were these! but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were declared righteous, in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

¹⁹ how that God was in Christ—a world reconciling to Himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses; and having put in us the word of the reconciliation, ²⁰ in behalf of Christ, then, we are ambassadors, as if God were calling through us, we beseech, in behalf of Christ, `Be ye reconciled to God;' ²¹ for him who did not know sin, in our behalf He did make sin, that we may become the righteousness of God in him.

¹⁹ for I through law, did die, that to God I may live; ²⁰ with Christ I have been crucified, and live no more do I, and Christ doth live in me; and that which I now live in the flesh—in the faith I live of the Son of God, who did love me and did give himself for me;

¹⁰ for as many as are of works of law are under a curse, for it hath been written, `Cursed is every one who is not remaining in all things that have been written in the Book of the Law—to do them,' <sup>11</sup> and that in law no one is declared righteous with God, is evident, because `The righteous by faith shall live;' ¹² and the law is not by faith, but—`The man who did them shall live in them.' <sup>13</sup> Christ did redeem us from the curse of the law, having become for us a curse, for it hath been written, `Cursed is every one who is hanging on a tree,' ¹⁴ that to the nations the blessing of Abraham may come in Christ Jesus, that the promise of the Spirit we may receive through the faith.

²² but the Writing did shut up the whole under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ may be given to those believing. ²³ And before the coming of the faith, under law we were being kept, shut up to the faith about to be revealed, ²⁴ so that the law became our child-conductor—to Christ, that by faith we may be declared righteous,

⁵ that those under law he may redeem, that the adoption of sons we may receive;

⁴ ye were freed from the Christ, ye who in law are declared righteous; from the grace ye fell away;

⁹ not having my righteousness, which is of law, but that which is through faith of Christ—the righteousness that is of God by the faith,

¹⁸ for a disannulling indeed doth come of the command going before because of its weakness, and unprofitableness, ¹⁹ (for nothing did the law perfect) and the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw nigh to God.

² according to a foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, to obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied!

⁸ whom, not having seen, ye love, in whom, now not seeing and believing, ye are glad with joy unspeakable and glorified, ⁹ receiving the end of your faith—salvation of souls;

¹⁸ having known that, not with corruptible things—silver or gold—were ye redeemed from your foolish behaviour delivered by fathers, ¹⁹ but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and unspotted—Christ's— ²⁰ foreknown, indeed, before the foundation of the world, and manifested in the last times because of you, ²¹ who through him do believe in God, who did raise out of the dead, and glory to him did give, so that your faith and hope may be in God.

²⁴ who our sins himself did bear in his body, upon the tree, that to the sins having died, to the righteousness we may live; by whose stripes ye were healed,

¹⁸ because also Christ once for sin did suffer—righteous for unrighteous—that he might lead us to God, having been put to death indeed, in the flesh, and having been made alive in the spirit,

¹ Simeon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who did obtain a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ:

⁷ and if in the light we may walk, as He is in the light—we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son doth cleanse us from every sin;

¹ My little children, these things I write to you, that ye may not sin: and if any one may sin, an advocate we have with the Father, Jesus Christ, a righteous one, ² and he—he is a propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world,

⁹ After these things I saw, and lo, a great multitude, which to number no one was able, out of all nations, and tribes, and peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne, and before the Lamb, arrayed in white robes, and palms in their hands,

¹⁴ and I have said to him, `Sir, thou hast known;' and he said to me, `These are those who are coming out of the great tribulation, and they did wash their robes, and they made their robes white in the blood of the Lamb;
