²⁹ And he commandeth them, and saith unto them, `I am being gathered unto my people; bury me by my fathers, at the cave which is in the field of Ephron the Hittite;

¹⁵ and thou—thou comest in unto thy fathers in peace; thou art buried in a good old age;

⁸ and Abraham expireth, and dieth in a good old age, aged and satisfied, and is gathered unto his people. ⁹ And Isaac and Ishmael his sons bury him at the cave of Machpelah, at the field of Ephron, son of Zoar the Hittite, which is before Mamre— ¹⁰ the field which Abraham bought from the sons of Heth—there hath Abraham been buried, and Sarah his wife.
¹¹ And it cometh to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blesseth Isaac his son; and Isaac dwelleth by the Well of the Living One, my Beholder. ¹² And these are births of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, hath borne to Abraham; ¹³ and these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their births: first-born of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam, ¹⁴ and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa, ¹⁵ Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah: ¹⁶ these are sons of Ishmael, and these their names, by their villages, and by their towers; twelve princes according to their peoples. ¹⁷ And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, a hundred and thirty and seven years; and he expireth, and dieth, and is gathered unto his people;

²⁹ and Isaac expireth, and dieth, and is gathered unto his people, aged and satisfied with days; and bury him do Esau and Jacob his sons.

³⁰ and I have lain with my fathers, and thou hast borne me out of Egypt, and buried me in their burying-place.' And he saith, `I—I do according to thy word;'

¹³ and his sons bear him away to the land of Canaan, and bury him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field for a possession of a burying-place, from Ephron the Hittite, on the front of Mamre.

³⁷ Let, I pray thee, thy servant turn back again, and I die in mine own city, near the burying-place of my father and of my mother, —and lo, thy servant Chimham, let him pass over with my lord the king, and do thou to him that which is good in thine eyes.'

⁶ And having gifts, different according to the grace that was given to us; whether prophecy—`According to the proportion of faith!' <sup>7</sup> or ministration—`In the ministration!' or he who is teaching—`In the teaching!' <sup>8</sup> or he who is exhorting—`In the exhortation!' he who is sharing—`In simplicity!' he who is leading—`In diligence?' he who is doing kindness—`In cheerfulness.' <sup>9</sup> The love unfeigned: abhorring the evil; cleaving to the good; <sup>10</sup> in the love of brethren, to one another kindly affectioned: in the honour going before one another; <sup>11</sup> in the diligence not slothful; in the spirit fervent; the Lord serving; <sup>12</sup> in the hope rejoicing; in the tribulation enduring; in the prayer persevering; <sup>13</sup> to the necessities of the saints communicating; the hospitality pursuing. <sup>14</sup> Bless those persecuting you; bless, and curse not; <sup>15</sup> to rejoice with the rejoicing, and to weep with the weeping, <sup>16</sup> of the same mind one toward another, not minding the high things, but with the lowly going along; become not wise in your own conceit; <sup>17</sup> giving back to no one evil for evil; providing right things before all men. <sup>18</sup> If possible—so far as in you—with all men being in peace; <sup>19</sup> not avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to the wrath, for it hath been written, `Vengeance is Mine, ²⁰ I will recompense again, saith the Lord;' if, then, thine enemy doth hunger, feed him; if he doth thirst, give him drink; for this doing, coals of fire thou shalt heap upon his head; ²¹ Be not overcome by the evil, but overcome, in the good, the evil.
