³ What—thou hast given counsel to the unwise, And wise plans in abundance made known.

¹³ Is not my help with me, And substance driven from me?

³ I also have a heart like you, I am not fallen more than you, And with whom is there not like these?

⁵ O that ye would keep perfectly silent, And it would be to you for wisdom.

⁸ Of the secret counsel of God dost thou hear? And withdrawest thou unto thee wisdom? ⁹ What hast thou known, and we know not? Understandest thou—and it is not with us? ¹⁰ Both the gray-headed And the very aged are among us—Greater than thy father in days.

¹⁰ Return, and come in, I pray you, And I find not among you a wise man.

¹¹ Lo, I have waited for your words, I give ear unto your reasons, Till ye search out sayings. ¹² And unto you I attend, And lo, there is no reasoner for Job, Or answerer of his sayings among you. ¹³ Lest ye say, We have found wisdom, God doth thrust him away, not man.

³ Of the uprightness of my heart are my sayings, And knowledge have my lips clearly spoken.

³³ If there are not—hearken thou to me, Keep silent, and I teach thee wisdom.

² Who is this—darkening counsel, By words without knowledge?

¹ To the Overseer. —By sons of Korah. A Psalm. Hear this, all ye peoples, Give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world. ² Both low and high, together rich and needy. ³ My mouth speaketh wise things, And the meditations of my heart are things of understanding. ⁴ I incline to a simile mine ear, I open with a harp my riddle:

¹⁵ My mouth recounteth Thy righteousness, All the day Thy salvation, For I have not known the numbers. ¹⁶ I come in the might of the Lord Jehovah, I mention Thy righteousness—Thine only. ¹⁷ God, Thou hast taught me from my youth, And hitherto I declare Thy wonders. ¹⁸ And also unto old age and grey hairs, O God, forsake me not, Till I declare Thy strength to a generation, To every one that cometh Thy might.

⁶ Hearken, for noble things I speak, And the opening of my lips is uprightness. ⁷ For truth doth my mouth utter, And an abomination to my lips is wickedness. ⁸ In righteousness are all the sayings of my mouth, Nothing in them is froward and perverse. ⁹ All of them are plain to the intelligent, And upright to those finding knowledge.

²⁰ how nothing I did keep back of what things are profitable, not to declare to you, and to teach you publicly, and in every house,

²⁷ for I did not keep back from declaring to you all the counsel of God.
