³⁴ for he whom God sent, the sayings of God he speaketh; for not by measure doth God give the Spirit;

²⁵ and Jehovah cometh down in the cloud, and speaketh unto him, and keepeth back of the Spirit which is on him, and putteth on the seventy men of the elders; and it cometh to pass at the resting of the Spirit on them, that they prophesy, and do not cease.

⁹ And it cometh to pass, at their passing over, that Elijah hath said unto Elisha, `Ask, what do I do for thee before I am taken from thee?' and Elisha saith, `Then let there be, I pray thee, a double portion of thy spirit unto me;'

⁷ Thou hast loved righteousness and hatest wickedness, Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee, Oil of joy above thy companions.

² Rested on him hath the Spirit of Jehovah, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and might, The spirit of knowledge and fear of Jehovah. ³ To refresh him in the fear of Jehovah, And by the sight of his eyes he judgeth not, Nor by the hearing of his ears decideth. ⁴ And he hath judged in righteousness the poor, And decided in uprightness for the humble of earth, And hath smitten earth with the rod of his mouth, And with the breath of his lips he putteth the wicked to death. ⁵ And righteousness hath been the girdle of his loins, And faithfulness—the girdle of his reins.

²¹ And I—this is My covenant with them, said Jehovah, My Spirit that is on thee, And My words that I have put in thy mouth, Depart not from thy mouth, And from the mouth of thy seed, And from the mouth of thy seed's seed, said Jehovah, From henceforth unto the age!

¹ For Zion's sake I am not silent, And for Jerusalem's sake I do not rest, Till her righteousness go out as brightness, And her salvation, as a torch that burneth. ² And nations have seen thy righteousness, And all kings thine honour, And He is giving to thee a new name, That the mouth of Jehovah doth define. ³ And thou hast been a crown of beauty in the hand of Jehovah, And a diadem of royalty in the hand of thy God,

¹⁸ `Lo, My servant, whom I did choose, My beloved, in whom My soul did delight, I will put My Spirit upon him, and judgment to the nations he shall declare,

¹⁸ `The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because He did anoint me; To proclaim good news to the poor, Sent me to heal the broken of heart, To proclaim to captives deliverance, And to blind receiving of sight, To send away the bruised with deliverance,

¹⁶ and out of his fulness did we all receive, and grace over-against grace;

¹⁷ For God did not send His Son to the world that he may judge the world, but that the world may be saved through him;

²⁶ for, as the Father hath life in himself, so He gave also to the Son to have life in himself,

¹⁶ Jesus answered them and said, `My teaching is not mine, but His who sent me;

³⁷ And in the last, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, `If any one doth thirst, let him come unto me and drink; ³⁸ he who is believing in me, according as the Writing said, Rivers out of his belly shall flow of living water;' ³⁹ and this he said of the Spirit, which those believing in him were about to receive; for not yet was the Holy Spirit, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

²⁶ many things I have to speak concerning you and to judge, but He who sent me is true, and I—what things I heard from Him—these I say to the world.' ²⁷ They knew not that of the Father he spake to them; ²⁸ Jesus, therefore, said to them, `When ye may lift up the Son of Man then ye will know that I am he; and of myself I do nothing, but according as my Father did teach me, these things I speak;

⁴⁰ and now, ye seek to kill me—a man who hath spoken to you the truth I heard from God; this Abraham did not;

⁴⁷ he who is of God, the sayings of God he doth hear; because of this ye do not hear, because of God ye are not.'

²⁶ `And when the Comforter may come, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth, who from the Father doth come forth, he will testify of me;

⁷ `But I tell you the truth; it is better for you that I go away, for if I may not go away, the Comforter will not come unto you, and if I go on, I will send Him unto you;

³⁸ Jesus who is from Nazareth—how God did anoint him with the Holy Spirit and power; who went through, doing good, and healing all those oppressed by the devil, because God was with him;

² for the law of the Spirit of the life in Christ Jesus did set me free from the law of the sin and of the death;

⁸ to me—the less than the least of all the saints—was given this grace, among the nations to proclaim good news—the untraceable riches of the Christ,

⁷ and to each one of you was given the grace, according to the measure of the gift of Christ, ⁸ wherefore, he saith, `Having gone up on high he led captive captivity, and gave gifts to men,' — ⁹ and that, he went up, what is it except that he also went down first to the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ he who went down is the same also who went up far above all the heavens, that He may fill all things— ¹¹ and He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as proclaimers of good news, and some as shepherds and teachers, ¹² unto the perfecting of the saints, for a work of ministration, for a building up of the body of the Christ, ¹³ till we may all come to the unity of the faith and of the recognition of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to a measure of stature of the fulness of the Christ,

¹⁹ because in him it did please all the fulness to tabernacle,

⁹ because in him doth tabernacle all the fulness of the Godhead bodily,

⁶ and He said to me, `It hath been done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End; I, to him who is thirsting, will give of the fountain of the water of the life freely;

¹ And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, bright as crystal, going forth out of the throne of God and of the Lamb:

¹⁶ `I, Jesus did send my messenger to testify to you these things concerning the assemblies; I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright and morning star! ¹⁷ And the Spirit and the Bride say, Come; and he who is hearing—let him say, Come; and he who is thirsting—let him come; and he who is willing—let him take the water of life freely.
