¹² `And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and father child, and children shall rise up against parents, and shall put them to death,

²¹ And I have called against him, to all My mountains a sword, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, The sword of each is against his brother.

⁴ Their best one is as a brier, The upright one—than a thorn-hedge, The day of thy watchmen—Thy visitation—hath come. Now is their perplexity. ⁵ Believe not in a friend, trust not in a leader, From her who is lying in thy bosom keep the openings of thy mouth. ⁶ For a son is dishonouring a father, A daughter hath stood against her mother, A daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, The enemies of each are the men of his house.

⁵² for there shall be henceforth five in one house divided—three against two, and two against three; ⁵³ a father shall be divided against a son, and a son against a father, a mother against a daughter, and a daughter against a mother, a mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.'
