¹⁴ and if ye are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who was about to come;

⁵ and they—whether they hear, or whether they forbear, for a rebellious house they are —have known that a prophet hath been in their midst.

¹⁰ And He saith unto me, `Son of man, all My words, that I speak unto thee, receive with thy heart, and with thine ears hear; ¹¹ and go, enter in unto the Removed, unto the sons of thy people, and thou hast spoken unto them, and hast said unto them: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: whether they hear, or whether they forbear.'

⁵ Lo, I am sending to you Elijah the prophet, Before the coming of the day of Jehovah, The great and the fearful.

¹⁰ And his disciples questioned him, saying, `Why then do the scribes say that Elijah it behoveth to come first?' <sup>11</sup> And Jesus answering said to them, `Elijah doth indeed come first, and shall restore all things, ¹² and I say to you—Elijah did already come, and they did not know him, but did with him whatever they would, so also the Son of Man is about to suffer by them.' ¹³ Then understood the disciples that concerning John the Baptist he spake to them.

¹¹ And they were questioning him, saying, that the scribes say that Elijah it behoveth to come first. ¹² And he answering said to them, `Elijah indeed, having come first, doth restore all things; and how hath it been written concerning the Son of Man, that many things he may suffer, and be set at nought? ¹³ But I say to you, That also Elijah hath come, and they did to him what they willed, as it hath been written of him.'

¹⁷ and he shall go before Him, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn hearts of fathers unto children, and disobedient ones to the wisdom of righteous ones, to make ready for the Lord, a people prepared.'

²¹ And they questioned him, `What then? Elijah art thou?' and he saith, `I am not.' —`The prophet art thou?' and he answered, `No.' ²² They said then to him, `Who art thou, that we may give an answer to those sending us? what dost thou say concerning thyself?' <sup>23</sup> He said, `I am a voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the Lord, as said Isaiah the prophet.'

¹² `I have yet many things to say to you, but ye are not able to bear them now;

² with milk I fed you, and not with meat, for ye were not yet able, but not even yet are ye now able,

⁴ And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given to them, and the souls of those who have been beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus, and because of the word of God, and who did not bow before the beast, nor his image, and did not receive the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand, and they did live and reign with Christ the thousand years;
