³² `And ye have observed to do as Jehovah your God hath commanded you, ye turn not aside—right or left;

³² The whole thing which I am commanding you—it ye observe to do; thou dost not add unto it, nor diminish from it.

⁵ `No man doth station himself before thee all days of thy life; as I have been with Moses, I am with thee, I do not fail thee, nor forsake thee;

³⁶ And Benaiah son of Jehoiada answereth the king, and saith, `Amen! so doth Jehovah, God of my lord the king, say;

³⁶ Blessed is Jehovah, God of Israel, From the age and unto the age;' And all the people say, `Amen,' and have given praise to Jehovah.

⁹ Be friends, O nations, and be broken, And give ear, all ye far off ones of earth, Gird yourselves, and be broken, Gird yourselves, and be broken. ¹⁰ Take counsel, and it is broken, Speak a word, and it doth not stand, Because of Emmanu-El!'

¹⁰ Be not afraid, for with thee I am, Look not around, for I am thy God, I have strengthened thee, Yea, I have helped thee, yea, I upheld thee, With the right hand of My righteousness.

²³ `Lo, the virgin shall conceive, and she shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel,' which is, being interpreted `With us he is God.'

¹³ `And mayest Thou not lead us to temptation, but deliver us from the evil, because Thine is the reign, and the power, and the glory—to the ages. Amen.

²⁴ `Therefore, every one who doth hear of me these words, and doth do them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house upon the rock; <sup>25</sup> and the rain did descend, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and they beat on that house, and it fell not, for it had been founded on the rock. <sup>26</sup> `And every one who is hearing of me these words, and is not doing them, shall be likened to a foolish man who built his house upon the sand; ²⁷ and the rain did descend, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and they beat on that house, and it fell, and its fall was great.'

³⁹ and the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is a full end of the age, and the reapers are messengers. ⁴⁰ `As, then, the darnel is gathered up, and is burned with fire, so shall it be in the full end of this age,

⁴⁹ so shall it be in the full end of the age, the messengers shall come forth and separate the evil out of the midst of the righteous,

²⁰ for where there are two or three gathered together—to my name, there am I in the midst of them.'

³ And when he is sitting on the mount of the Olives, the disciples came near to him by himself, saying, `Tell us, when shall these be? and what is the sign of thy presence, and of the full end of the age?'

²⁰ and they, having gone forth, did preach everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word, through the signs following. Amen.

¹⁸ `I will not leave you bereaved, I come unto you; <sup>19</sup> yet a little, and the world doth no more behold me, and ye behold me, because I live, and ye shall live; <sup>20</sup> in that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you; <sup>21</sup> he who is having my commands, and is keeping them, that one it is who is loving me, and he who is loving me shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.' <sup>22</sup> Judas saith to him, (not the Iscariot), `Sir, what hath come to pass, that to us thou are about to manifest thyself, and not to the world?' ²³ Jesus answered and said to him, `If any one may love me, my word he will keep, and my Father will love him, and unto him we will come, and abode with him we will make;

⁴² and they were continuing stedfastly in the teaching of the apostles, and the fellowship, and the breaking of the bread, and the prayers.

⁹ And the Lord said through a vision in the night to Paul, `Be not afraid, but be speaking and thou mayest be not silent; ¹⁰ because I am with thee, and no one shall set on thee to do thee evil; because I have much people in this city;'

²⁰ how nothing I did keep back of what things are profitable, not to declare to you, and to teach you publicly, and in every house, ²¹ testifying fully both to Jews and Greeks, toward God reformation, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁷ for I did not keep back from declaring to you all the counsel of God.

² And I praise you, brethren, that in all things ye remember me, and according as I did deliver to you, the deliverances ye keep,

²³ For I—I received from the Lord that which also I did deliver to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which he was delivered up, took bread,

³⁷ if any one doth think to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge the things that I write to you—that of the Lord they are commands;

¹¹ and He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as proclaimers of good news, and some as shepherds and teachers, ¹² unto the perfecting of the saints, for a work of ministration, for a building up of the body of the Christ, ¹³ till we may all come to the unity of the faith and of the recognition of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to a measure of stature of the fulness of the Christ, ¹⁴ that we may no more be babes, tossed and borne about by every wind of the teaching, in the sleight of men, in craftiness, unto the artifice of leading astray, ¹⁵ and, being true in love, we may increase to Him in all things, who is the head—the Christ; ¹⁶ from whom the whole body, being fitly joined together and united, through the supply of every joint, according to the working in the measure of each single part, the increase of the body doth make for the building up of itself in love.
¹⁷ This, then, I say, and I testify in the Lord; ye are no more to walk, as also the other nations walk, in the vanity of their mind,

²⁰ and ye did not so learn the Christ, ²¹ if so be ye did hear him, and in him were taught, as truth is in Jesus; ²² ye are to put off concerning the former behaviour the old man, that is corrupt according to the desires of the deceit, ²³ and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, ²⁴ and to put on the new man, which, according to God, was created in righteousness and kindness of the truth. ²⁵ Wherefore, putting away the lying, speak truth each with his neighbour, because we are members one of another; ²⁶ be angry and do not sin; let not the sun go down upon your wrath, ²⁷ neither give place to the devil; ²⁸ whoso is stealing let him no more steal, but rather let him labour, working the thing that is good with the hands, that he may have to impart to him having need. ²⁹ Let no corrupt word out of your mouth go forth, but what is good unto the needful building up, that it may give grace to the hearers; ³⁰ and make not sorrowful the Holy Spirit of God, in which ye were sealed to a day of redemption. ³¹ Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil-speaking, be put away from you, with all malice, ³² and become one to another kind, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, according as also God in Christ did forgive you.

²⁸ whom we proclaim, warning every man, and teaching every man, in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus,

¹ As to the rest, then, brethren, we request you, and call upon you in the Lord Jesus, as ye did receive from us how it behoveth you to walk and to please God, that ye may abound the more, ² for ye have known what commands we gave you through the Lord Jesus,

⁶ And we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to withdraw yourselves from every brother disorderly walking, and not after the deliverance that ye received from us, ⁷ for yourselves have known how it behoveth you to imitate us, because we did not act disorderly among you; ⁸ nor for nought did we eat bread of any one, but in labour and in travail, night and day working, not to be chargeable to any of you; ⁹ not because we have not authority, but that ourselves a pattern we might give to you, to imitate us; ¹⁰ for even when we were with you, this we did command you, that if any one is not willing to work, neither let him eat, ¹¹ for we hear of certain walking among you disorderly, nothing working, but over working, ¹² and such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness working, their own bread they may eat;

¹ As many as are servants under a yoke, their own masters worthy of all honour let them reckon, that the name of God and the teaching may not be evil spoken of; ² and those having believing masters, let them not slight them, because they are brethren, but rather let them serve, because they are stedfast and beloved, who of the benefit are partaking. These things be teaching and exhorting; ³ if any one be teaching otherwise, and do not consent to sound words—those of our Lord Jesus Christ—and to the teaching according to piety, ⁴ he is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and word-striving, out of which doth come envy, strife, evil-speakings, evil-surmisings,

¹⁷ and the Lord stood by me, and did strengthen me, that through me the preaching might be fully assured, and all the nations might hear, and I was freed out of the mouth of a lion,

¹ And thou—be speaking what doth become the sound teaching; ² aged men to be temperate, grave, sober, sound in the faith, in the love, in the endurance; ³ aged women, in like manner, in deportment as doth become sacred persons, not false accusers, to much wine not enslaved, of good things teachers, ⁴ that they may make the young women sober-minded, to be lovers of their husbands, lovers of their children, ⁵ sober, pure, keepers of their own houses, good, subject to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be evil spoken of. ⁶ The younger men, in like manner, be exhorting to be sober-minded; ⁷ concerning all things thyself showing a pattern of good works; in the teaching uncorruptedness, gravity, incorruptibility, ⁸ discourse sound, irreprehensible, that he who is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say concerning you. ⁹ Servants—to their own masters are to be subject, in all things to be well-pleasing, not gainsaying, ¹⁰ not purloining, but showing all good stedfastness, that the teaching of God our Saviour they may adorn in all things.

¹⁰ who were once not a people, and are now the people of God; who had not found kindness, and now have found kindness. ¹¹ Beloved, I call upon you, as strangers and sojourners, to keep from the fleshly desires, that war against the soul, ¹² having your behaviour among the nations right, that in that which they speak against you as evil-doers, of the good works having beheld, they may glorify God in a day of inspection.
¹³ Be subject, then, to every human creation, because of the Lord, whether to a king, as the highest, ¹⁴ whether to governors, as to those sent through him, for punishment, indeed, of evil-doers, and a praise of those doing good; ¹⁵ because, so is the will of God, doing good, to put to silence the ignorance of the foolish men; ¹⁶ as free, and not having the freedom as the cloak of the evil, but as servants of God; ¹⁷ to all give ye honour; the brotherhood love ye; God fear ye; the king honour ye. ¹⁸ The domestics! be subjecting yourselves in all fear to the masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the cross; ¹⁹ for this is gracious, if because of conscience toward God any one doth endure sorrows, suffering unrighteously;

⁵ And this same also—all diligence having brought in besides, superadd in your faith the worthiness, and in the worthiness the knowledge, ⁶ and in the knowledge the temperance, and in the temperance the endurance, and in the endurance the piety, ⁷ and in the piety the brotherly kindness, and in the brotherly kindness the love; ⁸ for these things being to you and abounding, do make you neither inert nor unfruitful in regard to the acknowledging of our Lord Jesus Christ, ⁹ for he with whom these things are not present is blind, dim-sighted, having become forgetful of the cleansing of his old sins; ¹⁰ wherefore, the rather, brethren, be diligent to make stedfast your calling and choice, for these things doing, ye may never stumble, ¹¹ for so, richly shall be superadded to you the entrance into the age-during reign of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

² to be mindful of the sayings said before by the holy prophets, and of the command of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour,

³ and in this we know that we have known him, if his commands we may keep; ⁴ he who is saying, `I have known him,' and his command is not keeping, a liar he is, and in him the truth is not;

¹⁹ and in this we know that of the truth we are, and before Him we shall assure our hearts,
²⁰ because if our heart may condemn—because greater is God than our heart, and He doth know all things. ²¹ Beloved, if our heart may not condemn us, we have boldness toward God, ²² and whatever we may ask, we receive from Him, because His commands we keep, and the things pleasing before Him we do,
²³ and this is His command, that we may believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and may love one another, even as He did give command to us, ²⁴ and he who is keeping His commands, in Him he doth remain, and He in him; and in this we know that He doth remain in us, from the Spirit that He gave us.

¹⁸ and he who is living, and I did become dead, and, lo, I am living to the ages of the ages. Amen! and I have the keys of the hades and of the death.

¹⁴ `Happy are those doing His commands that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of the life, and by the gates they may enter into the city;

²⁰ he saith—who is testifying these things—`Yes, I come quickly!' Amen! Yes, be coming, Lord Jesus! ²¹ The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is with you all. Amen.
