1 Samuel 10 Then Samuel took a flask of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?

2 H3212 [H8800] When thou hast departed H5978 from me H3117 to day, H4672 [H8804] then thou shalt find H8147 two H582 men H7354 by Rachel's H6900 burying-place H1366 in the border H1144 of Benjamin H6766 at Zelzah; H559 [H8804] and they will say H860 to thee, The donkeys H1980 [H8804] which thou wentest H1245 [H8763] to seek H4672 [H8738] are found: H1 and, lo, thy father H5203 [H8804] hath stopped H1697 caring H860 for the donkeys, H1672 [H8804] and hath anxiety H559 [H8800] for you, saying, H6213 [H8799] What shall I do H1121 for my son?

4 H7592 [H8804] And they will H7965 greet H5414 [H8804] thee, and give H8147 thee two H3899 loaves of bread; H3947 [H8804] which thou shalt receive H3027 from their hands.

5 H310 After H935 [H8799] that thou shalt come H1389 to the hill H430 of God, H5333 where is the garrison H6430 of the Philistines: H935 [H8800] and it shall come to pass, when thou hast come there H5892 to the city, H6293 [H8804] that thou shalt meet H2256 a company H5030 of prophets H3381 [H8802] coming down H1116 from the high place H5035 with a psaltery, H8596 and a tabret, H2485 and a pipe, H3658 and a harp, H6440 at the face of H5012 [H8693] them; and they shall prophesy:

6 H7307 And the Spirit H3068 of the LORD H6743 [H8804] will come H5012 [H8694] upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy H2015 [H8738] with them, and shalt be turned H312 into another H376 man.

7 H226 And let it be, when these signs H935 [H8799] have come H6213 [H8798] to thee, that thou do H4672 [H8799] as occasion H3027 shall serve H430 thee; for God is with thee.

8 H3381 [H8804] And thou shalt go down H6440 at the face of H1537 me to Gilgal; H3381 [H8802] and, behold, I will come down H5927 [H8687] to thee, to offer H5930 burnt offerings, H2076 [H8800] and to sacrifice H2077 sacrifices H8002 of peace offerings: H7651 seven H3117 days H3176 [H8686] shalt thou tarry, H935 [H8800] till I come H3045 [H8689] to thee, and show H6213 [H8799] thee what thou shalt do.

9 H6437 [H8687] And it was so, that when he had turned H7926 his back H3212 [H8800] to go H8050 from Samuel, H430 God H2015 [H8799] overturned H312 to him another H3820 heart: H226 and all those signs H935 [H8799] came H3117 to pass that day.

10 H935 [H8799] And when they came H1389 there to the hill, H2256 behold, a company H5030 of prophets H7125 [H8800] met H7307 him; and the Spirit H430 of God H6743 [H8799] came H5012 [H8691] upon him, and he prophesied H8432 among them.

11 H3045 [H8802] And it came to pass, when all that knew H865 H8032 him in times past H7200 [H8799] saw H5012 [H8738] that, behold, he prophesied H5030 among the prophets, H5971 then the people H559 [H8799] said H376 one H7453 to another, H1121 What is this that hath come to the son H7027 of Kish? H7586 Is Saul H5030 also among the prophets?

12 H376 And one H6030 [H8799] of the same place answered H559 [H8799] and said, H1 But who is their father? H4912 Therefore it became a proverb, H7586 Is Saul H5030 also among the prophets?

13 H3615 [H8762] And when he had finished H5012 [H8692] prophesying, H935 [H8799] he came H1116 to the high place.

14 H7586 And Saul's H1730 uncle H559 [H8799] said H5288 to him and to his servant, H575 Where H1980 [H8804] went H559 [H8799] ye? And he said, H1245 [H8763] To seek H860 the donkeys: H7200 [H8799] and when we saw H369 that they were no where, H935 [H8799] we came H8050 to Samuel.

15 H7586 And Saul's H1730 uncle H559 [H8799] said, H5046 [H8685] Tell H8050 me, I pray thee, what Samuel H559 [H8804] said to you.

16 H7586 And Saul H559 [H8799] said H1730 to his uncle, H5046 [H8689] He told H5046 [H8687] us plainly H860 that the donkeys H4672 [H8738] were found. H1697 But of the matter H4410 of the kingdom, H8050 of which Samuel H559 [H8804] spoke, H5046 [H8689] he told him not.

17 H8050 And Samuel H6817 [H8686] called H5971 the people H3068 together to the LORD H4709 to Mizpeh;

18 H559 [H8799] And said H1121 to the sons H3478 of Israel, H559 [H8804] Thus saith H3068 the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel, H5927 [H8689] I brought H3478 Israel H4714 out of Egypt, H5337 [H8686] and delivered H3027 you out of the hand H4714 of the Egyptians, H3027 and out of the hand H4467 of all kingdoms, H3905 [H8801] and of them that oppressed you:

19 H3117 And ye have this day H3988 [H8804] rejected H430 your God, H3467 [H8688] who himself liberated H7451 you out of all your adversities H6869 and your straits; H559 [H8799] and ye have said H7760 [H8799] to him, Nay, but set H4428 a king H3320 [H8690] over us. Now therefore present H6440 yourselves at the face of H3068 the LORD H7626 by your tribes, H505 and by your thousands.

20 H8050 And when Samuel H7626 had caused all the tribes H3478 of Israel H7126 [H8686] to come near, H7626 the tribe H1144 of Benjamin H3920 [H8735] was taken.

21 H7626 When he had caused the tribe H1144 of Benjamin H7126 [H8686] to come near H4940 by their families, H4940 the family H4309 of Matri H3920 [H8735] was taken, H7586 and Saul H1121 the son H7027 of Kish H3920 [H8735] was taken: H1245 [H8762] and when they sought H4672 [H8738] him, he could not be found.

22 H7592 [H8799] Therefore they enquired H3068 of the LORD H376 further, if the man H935 [H8804] should yet come H1988 there. H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] answered, H2244 [H8737] Behold, he hath hid H3627 himself among the baggage.

23 H7323 [H8799] And they ran H3947 [H8799] and brought H3320 [H8691] him from there: and when he stood H8432 among H5971 the people, H1361 [H8799] he was taller H5971 than any of the people H7926 from his shoulders H4605 and upward.

24 H8050 And Samuel H559 [H8799] said H5971 to all the people, H7200 [H8804] See H3068 ye him whom the LORD H977 [H8804] hath chosen, H5971 that there is none like him among all the people? H5971 And all the people H7321 [H8686] shouted, H559 [H8799] and said, H2421 [H8799] God save H4428 the king.

25 H8050 Then Samuel H1696 [H8762] told H5971 the people H4941 the manner H4410 of the kingdom, H3789 [H8799] and wrote H5612 it in a book, H3240 [H8686] and laid it up H6440 at the face of H3068 the LORD. H8050 And Samuel H7971 0 sent H5971 all the people H7971 [H8762] away, H376 every man H1004 to his house.

26 H7586 And Saul H1980 [H8804] also went H1004 home H1390 to Gibeah; H3212 [H8799] and there went H2428 with him a band of men, H3820 whose hearts H430 God H5060 [H8804] had touched.

27 H1100 But the worthless H1121 men H559 [H8804] said, H3467 [H8686] How shall this man liberate H959 [H8799] us? And they despised H935 [H8689] him, and brought H4503 him no presents. H2790 [H8688] But he held his peace.
