2 Chronicles 29 Hezekiah began to reign when he was five and twenty years old, and he reigned nine and twenty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah.

2 H6213 [H8799] And he did H3477 that which was right H5869 in the eyes H3068 of the LORD, H1732 according to all that David H1 his father H6213 [H8804] had done.

3 H7223 He in the first H8141 year H4427 [H8800] of his reign, H7223 in the first H2320 month, H6605 [H8804] opened H1817 the doors H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD, H2388 [H8762] and repaired them.

4 H935 [H8686] And he brought in H3548 the priests H3881 and the Levites, H622 [H8799] and gathered them H4217 in the east H7339 street,

5 H559 [H8799] And said H8085 [H8798] to them, Hear H3881 me, ye Levites, H6942 [H8690] sanctify H6942 [H8761] now yourselves, and sanctify H1004 the house H3068 of the LORD H430 God H1 of your fathers, H3318 [H8685] and carry forth H5079 the filthiness H6944 out of the holy place.

6 H1 For our fathers H4603 [H8804] have trespassed, H6213 [H8804] and done H7451 that which was evil H5869 in the eyes H3068 of the LORD H430 our God, H5800 [H8799] and have forsaken H5437 [H8686] him, and have turned away H6440 their faces H4908 from the habitation H3068 of the LORD, H5414 [H8799] and turned H6203 their backs.

7 H5462 [H8804] Also they have shut up H1817 the doors H197 of the porch, H3518 [H8762] and put out H5216 the lamps, H6999 [H8689] and have not burned H7004 incense H5927 [H8689] nor offered H5930 burnt offerings H6944 in the holy H430 place to the God H3478 of Israel.

8 H7110 Therefore the splintering rage H3068 of the LORD H3063 hath been upon Judah H3389 and Jerusalem, H5414 [H8799] and he hath given H2189 H2113 [H8675] them to trouble, H8047 to astonishment, H8322 and to hissing, H7200 [H8802] as ye see H5869 with your eyes.

9 H1 For, lo, our fathers H5307 [H8804] have fallen H2719 by the sword, H1121 and our sons H1323 and our daughters H802 and our wives H7628 are in captivity for this.

10 H3824 Now it is in my heart H3772 [H8800] to make H1285 a covenant H3068 with the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel, H2740 that his burning H639 anger H7725 [H8799] may turn away from us.

11 H1121 My sons, H7952 [H8735] be not now negligent: H3068 for the LORD H977 [H8804] hath chosen H5975 [H8800] you to stand H6440 at the face of H8334 [H8763] him, to serve H8334 [H8764] him, and that ye should minister H6999 [H8688] to him, and burn incense.

12 H3881 Then the Levites H6965 [H8799] arose, H4287 Mahath H1121 the son H6022 of Amasai, H3100 and Joel H1121 the son H5838 of Azariah, H1121 of the sons H6956 of the Kohathites: H1121 and of the sons H4847 of Merari, H7027 Kish H1121 the son H5660 of Abdi, H5838 and Azariah H1121 the son H3094 of Jehalelel: H1649 and of the Gershonites; H3098 Joah H1121 the son H2155 of Zimmah, H5731 and Eden H1121 the son H3098 of Joah:

13 H1121 And of the sons H469 of Elizaphan; H8113 Shimri, H3273 and Jeiel: H1121 and of the sons H623 of Asaph; H2148 Zechariah, H4983 and Mattaniah:

14 H1121 And of the sons H1968 of Heman; H3171 Jehiel, H8096 and Shimei: H1121 and of the sons H3038 of Jeduthun; H8098 Shemaiah, H5816 and Uzziel.

15 H622 [H8799] And they assembled H251 their brethren, H6942 [H8691] and sanctified H935 [H8799] themselves, and came, H4687 according to the commandment H4428 of the king, H1697 by the words H3068 of the LORD, H2891 [H8763] to cleanse H1004 the house H3068 of the LORD.

16 H3548 And the priests H935 [H8799] went H6441 into the inner part H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD, H2891 [H8763] to cleanse H3318 [H8686] it, and brought out H2932 all the uncleanness H4672 [H8804] that they found H1964 in the temple H3068 of the LORD H2691 into the court H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD. H3881 And the Levites H6901 [H8762] took H3318 [H8687] it, to carry it out H2351 abroad H5158 into the brook H6939 Kidron.

17 H2490 [H8686] Now they began H259 on the first H7223 day of the first H2320 month H6942 [H8763] to sanctify, H8083 and on the eighth H3117 day H2320 of the month H935 [H8804] they came H197 to the porch H3068 of the LORD: H6942 [H8762] so they sanctified H1004 the house H3068 of the LORD H8083 in eight H3117 days; H8337 H6240 and on the sixteenth H7223 day of the first H2320 month H3615 [H8765] they finished.

18 H935 [H8799] Then they went H6441 in H2396 to Hezekiah H4428 the king, H559 [H8799] and said, H2891 [H8765] We have cleansed H1004 all the house H3068 of the LORD, H4196 and the altar H5930 of burnt offering, H3627 with all its vessels, H4635 and the showbread H7979 table, H3627 with all its vessels.

19 H3627 Moreover all the vessels, H4428 which king H271 Ahaz H4438 in his reign H2186 [H8689] cast away H4604 in his treachery, H3559 [H8689] have we prepared H6942 [H8689] and sanctified, H6440 and, behold, they are at the face of H4196 the altar H3068 of the LORD.

20 H3169 Then Hezekiah H4428 the king H7925 [H8686] rose early, H622 [H8799] and assembled H8269 the rulers H5892 of the city, H5927 [H8799] and went up H1004 to the house H3068 of the LORD.

21 H935 [H8686] And they brought H7651 seven H6499 bulls, H7651 and seven H352 rams, H7651 and seven H3532 lambs, H7651 and seven H6842 male H5795 goats, H2403 for a sin offering H4467 for the kingdom, H4720 and for the sanctuary, H3063 and for Judah. H559 [H8799] And he commanded H3548 the priests H1121 the sons H175 of Aaron H5927 [H8687] to offer H4196 them on the altar H3068 of the LORD.

22 H7819 [H8799] So they killed H1241 the bulls, H3548 and the priests H6901 [H8762] received H1818 the blood, H2236 [H8799] and sprinkled H4196 it on the altar: H7819 [H8799] likewise, when they had killed H352 the rams, H2236 [H8799] they sprinkled H1818 the blood H4196 upon the altar: H7819 [H8799] they killed H3532 also the lambs, H2236 [H8799] and they sprinkled H1818 the blood H4196 upon the altar.

23 H5066 [H8686] And they brought forth H8163 the male goats H2403 for the sin offering H6440 at the face of H4428 the king H6951 and the congregation; H5564 [H8799] and they laid H3027 their hands upon them:

24 H3548 And the priests H7819 [H8799] killed H2398 [H8762] them, and they made reconciliation H1818 with their blood H4196 upon the altar, H3722 [H8763] to make an atonement H3478 for all Israel: H4428 for the king H559 [H8804] commanded H5930 that the burnt offering H2403 and the sin offering H3478 should be made for all Israel.

25 H5975 [H8686] And he set H3881 the Levites H1004 in the house H3068 of the LORD H4700 with cymbals, H5035 with psalteries, H3658 and with harps, H4687 according to the commandment H1732 of David, H1410 and of Gad H4428 the king's H2374 envisioner, H5416 and Nathan H5030 the prophet: H4687 for so was the commandment H3027 of H3068 the LORD H3027 by H5030 his prophets.

26 H3881 And the Levites H5975 [H8799] stood H3627 with the instruments H1732 of David, H3548 and the priests H2689 with the trumpets.

27 H2396 And Hezekiah H559 [H8799] commanded H5927 [H8687] to offer H5930 the burnt offering H4196 upon the altar. H6256 And when H5930 the burnt offering H2490 [H8689] began, H7892 the song H3068 of the LORD H2490 [H8689] began H2689 also with the trumpets, H3627 and with the instruments H3027 ordained by H1732 David H4428 king H3478 of Israel.

28 H6951 And all the congregation H7812 [H8693] worshipped, H7892 and the singers H7891 [H8789] sang, H2689 and the trumpeters H2690 H2690 [H8688] sounded: H5930 and all this continued until the burnt offering H3615 [H8800] was finished.

29 H3615 [H8763] And when they had finished H5927 [H8687] offering, H4428 the king H4672 [H8737] and all that were present H3766 [H8804] with him bowed H7812 [H8691] themselves, and worshipped.

30 H3169 Moreover Hezekiah H4428 the king H8269 and the princes H559 [H8799] commanded H3881 the Levites H1984 [H8763] to sing praise H3068 to the LORD H1697 with the words H1732 of David, H623 and of Asaph H2374 the envisioner. H1984 [H8762] And they sang praises H8057 with gladness, H6915 [H8799] and they bowed their heads H7812 [H8691] and worshipped.

31 H3169 Then Hezekiah H6030 [H8799] answered H559 [H8799] and said, H4390 H3027 [H8765] Now ye have consecrated H3068 yourselves to the LORD, H5066 [H8798] come near H935 [H8685] and bring H2077 sacrifices H8426 and thank offerings H1004 into the house H3068 of the LORD. H6951 And the congregation H935 [H8686] brought in H2077 sacrifices H8426 and thank offerings; H5081 and as many as were of a free H3820 heart H5930 burnt offerings.

32 H4557 And the number H5930 of the burnt offerings, H6951 which the congregation H935 [H8689] brought, H7657 was seventy H1241 bulls, H3967 an hundred H352 rams, H3967 and two hundred H3532 lambs: H5930 all these were for a burnt offering H3068 to the LORD.

33 H6944 And the consecrated things H8337 were six H3967 hundred H1241 oxen H7969 and three H505 thousand H6629 sheep.

34 H3548 But the priests H4592 were too few, H3201 [H8804] so that they could H6584 [H8687] not flay H5930 all the burnt offerings: H251 therefore their brethren H3881 the Levites H2388 [H8762] helped H4399 them, till the work H3615 [H8800] was ended, H3548 and until the other priests H6942 [H8691] had sanctified H3881 themselves: for the Levites H3477 were more upright H3824 in heart H6942 [H8692] to sanctify H3548 themselves than the priests.

35 H5930 And also the burnt offerings H7230 were in abundance, H2459 with the fat H8002 of the peace offerings, H5262 and the drink offerings H5930 for every burnt offering. H5656 So the service H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD H3559 [H8735] was set in order.

36 H3169 And Hezekiah H8055 [H8799] rejoiced, H5971 and all the people, H430 that God H3559 [H8689] had prepared H5971 the people: H1697 for the thing H6597 was done suddenly.
