2 Kings 12 In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zibiah of Beersheba.

2 H3060 And Jehoash H6213 [H8799] did H3477 that which was right H5869 in the eyes H3068 of the LORD H3117 all his days H3077 in which Jehoiada H3548 the priest H3384 [H8689] instructed him.

3 H1116 But the high places H5493 [H8804] were not taken away: H5971 the people H2076 [H8764] still sacrificed H6999 [H8764] and burnt incense H1116 in the high places.

4 H3060 And Jehoash H559 [H8799] said H3548 to the priests, H3701 All the money H6944 of the dedicated things H935 [H8714] that is brought H1004 into the house H3068 of the LORD, H3701 even the money H376 of every one H5674 [H8802] that passeth H3701 the account, the money H5315 of every man's H6187 assessment, H3701 and all the money H5927 [H8799] that cometh H376 into any man's H3820 heart H935 [H8687] to bring H1004 into the house H3068 of the LORD,

5 H3548 Let the priests H3947 [H8799] take H376 it to them, every man H4378 of his acquaintance: H2388 [H8762] and let them repair H919 the breaches H1004 of the house, H919 wherever any breach H4672 [H8735] shall be found.

6 H7969 H8141 But it was so, that in the three H6242 and twentieth H8141 year H4428 of king H3060 Jehoash H3548 the priests H2388 [H8765] had not repaired H919 the breaches H1004 of the house.

7 H4428 Then king H3060 Jehoash H7121 [H8799] called H3077 for Jehoiada H3548 the priest, H3548 and the other priests, H559 [H8799] and said H2388 [H8764] to them, Why repair H919 ye not the breaches H1004 of the house? H3947 [H8799] now therefore receive H3701 no more money H4378 of your acquaintance, H5414 [H8799] but give H919 it for the breaches H1004 of the house.

8 H3548 And the priests H225 [H8735] consented H3947 [H8800] to receive H1115 no H3701 more money H5971 of the people, H1115 neither H2388 [H8763] to repair H919 the breaches H1004 of the house.

9 H3077 But Jehoiada H3548 the priest H3947 [H8799] took H259 a H727 chest, H5344 [H8799] and punctured H2356 a hole H1817 in the lid H5414 [H8799] of it, and set H681 it beside H4196 the altar, H3225 on the right side H376 as one H935 [H8800] cometh H1004 into the house H3068 of the LORD: H3548 and the priests H8104 [H8802] that kept H5592 the door H5414 [H8804] put H3701 in it all the money H935 [H8716] that was brought H1004 into the house H3068 of the LORD.

10 H7200 [H8800] And it was so, when they saw H7227 that there was much H3701 money H727 in the chest, H4428 that the king's H5608 [H8802] scribe H1419 and the high H3548 priest H5927 [H8799] came up, H6696 [H8799] and they put up in bags, H4487 [H8799] and counted H3701 the money H4672 [H8737] that was found H1004 in the house H3068 of the LORD.

11 H5414 [H8804] And they gave H3701 the money, H8505 [H8794] being counted, H3027 into the hands H6213 [H8802] of them that did H4399 the work, H6485 H6485 [H8716] that had the oversight H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD: H3318 [H8686] and they paid it out H2796 H6086 to the carpenters H1129 [H8802] and builders, H6213 [H8802] that wrought H1004 upon the house H3068 of the LORD,

12 H1443 [H8802] And to masons, H2672 [H8802] and hewers H68 of stone, H7069 [H8800] and to buy H6086 timber H4274 and hewed H68 stone H2388 [H8763] to repair H919 the breaches H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD, H3318 [H8799] and for all that was laid out H1004 for the house H2394 to repair it.

13 H6213 [H8735] Yet there were not made H1004 for the house H3068 of the LORD H5592 bowls H3701 of silver, H4212 snuffers, H4219 basons, H2689 trumpets, H3627 any vessels H2091 of gold, H3627 or vessels H3701 of silver, H3701 of the money H935 [H8716] that was brought H1004 into the house H3068 of the LORD:

14 H5414 [H8799] But they gave H4399 H6213 [H8802] that to the workmen, H2388 [H8765] and repaired H1004 with it the house H3068 of the LORD.

15 H2803 [H8762] Moreover they reckoned H582 not with the men, H3027 into whose hand H5414 [H8799] they gave H3701 the money H5414 [H8800] to be bestowed H4399 on workmen: H6213 [H8802] for they dealt H530 faithfully.

16 H817 The guilt H3701 money H2403 and sin H3701 money H935 [H8714] was not brought H1004 into the house H3068 of the LORD: H3548 it was the priests'.

17 H2371 Then Hazael H4428 king H758 of Syria H5927 [H8799] went up, H3898 [H8735] and fought H1661 against Gath, H3920 [H8799] and took H2371 it: and Hazael H7760 [H8799] set H6440 his face H5927 [H8800] to go up H3389 to Jerusalem.

18 H3060 And Jehoash H4428 king H3063 of Judah H3947 [H8799] took H6944 all the hallowed things H3092 that Jehoshaphat, H3088 and Jehoram, H274 and Ahaziah, H1 his fathers, H4428 kings H3063 of Judah, H6942 [H8689] had dedicated, H6944 and his own hallowed things, H2091 and all the gold H4672 [H8737] that was found H214 in the treasuries H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD, H4428 and in the king's H1004 house, H7971 [H8799] and sent H2371 it to Hazael H4428 king H758 of Syria: H5927 [H8799] and he went away H3389 from Jerusalem.

19 H3499 And the rest H1697 of the acts H3101 of Joash, H6213 [H8804] and all that he did, H3789 [H8803] are they not written H5612 in the book H1697 H3117 of the chronicles H4428 of the kings H3063 of Judah?

20 H5650 And his servants H6965 [H8799] arose, H7194 [H8799] and made H7195 a conspiracy, H5221 [H8686] and slew H3101 Joash H1004 in the house H4407 H1037 [H8677] of Millo, H3381 [H8802] which goeth down H5538 to Silla.

21 H3108 For Jozachar H1121 the son H8100 of Shimeath, H3075 and Jehozabad H1121 the son H7763 of Shomer, H5650 his servants, H5221 [H8689] smote H4191 [H8799] him, and he died; H6912 [H8799] and they buried H1 him with his fathers H5892 in the city H1732 of David: H558 and Amaziah H1121 his son H4427 [H8799] reigned in his stead.
