Deuteronomy 19 When the LORD thy God hath cut off the nations, whose land the LORD thy God giveth thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses;

1 H3068 When the LORD H430 thy God H3772 [H8686] hath cut off H1471 the nations, H776 whose land H3068 the LORD H430 thy God H5414 [H8802] giveth H3423 [H8804] thee, and thou succeedest H3427 [H8804] them, and dwellest H5892 in their cities, H1004 and in their houses;

2 H914 [H8686] Thou shalt set apart H7969 three H5892 cities H8432 for thee in the midst H776 of thy land, H3068 which the LORD H430 thy God H5414 [H8802] giveth H3423 [H8800] thee to possess it.

3 H3559 [H8686] Thou shalt prepare H1870 thee a way, H1366 and divide the bounds H776 of thy land, H3068 which the LORD H430 thy God H5157 [H8686] giveth thee to inherit, H8027 [H8765] into three parts, H7523 [H8802] that every slayer H5127 [H8800] may flee there.

4 H1697 And this is the case H7523 [H8802] of the slayer, H5127 [H8799] who shall flee H2425 [H8804] there, that he may live: H5221 [H8686] Whoever killeth H7453 his neighbour H1097 H1847 unintentionally, H8130 [H8802] whom he hated H8543 not in time H8032 past;

5 H935 [H8799] As when a man goeth H3293 into the forest H7453 with his neighbour H2404 [H8800] to hew H6086 wood, H3027 and his hand H5080 [H8738] maketh a stroke H1631 with the axe H3772 [H8800] to cut down H6086 the tree, H1270 and the head H5394 [H8804] slippeth H6086 from the helve, H4672 [H8804] and falleth H7453 upon his neighbour, H4191 [H8804] that he dieth; H5127 [H8799] he shall flee H259 to one H5892 of these cities, H2425 [H8804] and live:

6 H1350 [H8802] Lest the avenger H1818 [H8676] of blood H7291 [H8799] shall pursue H310 H7523 [H8802] the slayer, H3588 while H3824 his heart H3179 [H8799] is hot, H5381 [H8689] and overtake H1870 him, because the way H7235 [H8799] is long, H5221 [H8689] and slay H5315 him; H4941 though he was not worthy H4194 of death, H3588 inasmuch as H8130 [H8802] he hated H8543 him not in time H8032 past.

7 H6680 [H8764] Therefore I command H559 [H8800] thee, saying, H914 [H8686] Thou shalt set apart H7969 three H5892 cities for thee.

8 H3068 And if the LORD H430 thy God H7337 [H8686] shall enlarge H1366 thy land, H7650 [H8738] as he hath sworn H1 to thy fathers, H5414 [H8804] and give H776 thee all the land H1696 [H8765] which he promised H5414 [H8800] to give H1 to thy fathers;

9 H8104 [H8799] If thou shalt keep H4687 all these commandments H6213 [H8800] to do H6680 [H8764] them, which I command H3117 thee this day, H157 [H8800] to love H3068 the LORD H430 thy God, H3212 [H8800] and to walk H3117 ever H1870 in his ways; H3254 [H8804] then shalt thou add H7969 three H5892 cities H7969 more for thee, besides these three:

10 H5355 That innocent H1818 blood H8210 [H8735] may not be shed H7130 in H776 thy land, H3068 which the LORD H430 thy God H5414 [H8802] giveth H5159 thee for an inheritance, H1818 and so blood be upon thee.

11 H376 But if any man H8130 [H8802] shall hate H7453 his neighbour, H693 [H8804] and lie in wait H6965 [H8804] for him, and rise up H5221 [H8689] against him, and smite H5315 him mortally H4191 [H8804] that he dieth, H5127 [H8804] and he shall flee H259 into one H411 of these H5892 cities:

12 H2205 Then the elders H5892 of his city H7971 [H8804] shall send H3947 [H8804] and bring H5414 [H8804] him from there, and give H3027 him into the hand H1350 [H8802] of the avenger H1818 of blood, H4191 [H8804] that he may die.

13 H5869 Thine eye H2347 [H8799] shall not pity H1197 [H8765] him, but thou shall remove H5355 the guilt of innocent H1818 blood H3478 from Israel, H2895 [H8804] that it may be well with thee.

14 H5253 [H8686] Thou shalt not remove H7453 thy neighbour's H1366 landmark, H7223 which they of old time H1379 [H8804] have set H5159 in thine inheritance, H5157 [H8799] which thou shalt inherit H776 in the land H3068 that the LORD H430 thy God H5414 [H8802] giveth H3423 [H8800] thee to possess it.

15 H259 One H5707 witness H6965 [H8799] shall not rise up H376 against a man H5771 for any perversity, H2403 or for any sin, H2399 in any sin H2398 [H8799] that he sinneth: H6310 at the mouth H8147 of two H5707 witnesses, H6310 or at the mouth H7969 of three H5707 witnesses, H1697 shall the matter H6965 [H8799] be raised.

16 H2555 If a violent H5707 witness H6965 [H8799] shall rise up H376 against any man H6030 [H8800] to testify H5627 against him that which is wrong;

17 H8147 Then both H582 the men, H7379 between whom the controversy H5975 [H8804] is, shall stand H6440 at the face of H3068 the LORD, H6440 at the face of H3548 the priests H8199 [H8802] and the judges, H3117 who shall be in those days;

18 H8199 [H8802] And the judges H3190 [H8687] shall make diligent H1875 [H8804] inquisition: H5707 and, behold, if the witness H8267 is a false H5707 witness, H6030 [H8804] and hath testified H8267 falsely H251 against his brother;

19 H6213 [H8804] Then shall ye do H2161 [H8804] to him, as he had thought H6213 [H8800] to do H251 to his brother: H1197 [H8765] so shalt thou remove H7451 the evil H7130 from among you.

20 H7604 [H8737] And those who remain H8085 [H8799] shall hear, H3372 [H8799] and fear, H3254 [H8686] and shall henceforth H6213 [H8800] commit H1697 no more any H7451 such evil H7130 among you.

21 H5869 And thine eye H2347 [H8799] shall not pity; H5315 but life H5315 shall go for life, H5869 eye H5869 for eye, H8127 tooth H8127 for tooth, H3027 hand H3027 for hand, H7272 foot H7272 for foot.
