Genesis 39 And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmaelites, who had brought him down there.

1 H3130 And Joseph H3381 [H8717] was brought down H4714 to Egypt; H6318 and Potiphar, H5631 an officer H6547 of Pharaoh, H8269 captain H2876 of the guard, H376 H4713 an Egyptian, H7069 [H8799] bought H3027 him of the hands H3459 of the Ishmaelites, H3381 [H8689] who had brought him down there.

2 H3068 And the LORD H3130 was with Joseph, H6743 [H8688] and he was a prosperous H376 man; H1004 and he was in the house H113 of his master H4713 the Egyptian.

3 H113 And his master H7200 [H8799] saw H3068 that the LORD H3068 was with him, and that the LORD H6213 [H8802] made all that he did H6743 [H8688] to prosper H3027 in his hand.

4 H3130 And Joseph H4672 [H8799] found H2580 grace H5869 in his eyes, H8334 [H8762] and he served H6485 [H8686] him: and he made him overseer H1004 over his house, H3426 and all that he had H5414 [H8804] he put H3027 into his hand.

5 H227 And it came to pass from the time H6485 [H8689] that he had made him overseer H1004 in his house, H3426 and over all that he had, H3068 that the LORD H1288 [H8762] blessed H4713 the Egyptian's H1004 house H3130 for Joseph's H1558 sake; H1293 and the blessing H3068 of the LORD H3426 was on all that he had H1004 in the house, H7704 and in the field.

6 H5800 [H8799] And he left H3130 all that he had in Joseph's H3027 hand; H3045 [H8804] and he did not concern H3972 himself with any thing H518 he had, except H3899 the bread H398 [H8802] which he ate. H3130 And Joseph H8389 was a handsome H3303 person, and well H4758 favoured.

7 H310 And it came to pass after H1697 these things, H113 that his master's H802 wife H5375 [H8799] cast H5869 her eyes H3130 upon Joseph; H559 [H8799] and she said, H7901 [H8798] Lie with me.

8 H3985 [H8762] But he refused, H559 [H8799] and said H113 to his master's H802 wife, H113 Behold, my master H3045 [H8804] knoweth H1004 not what is with me in the house, H5414 [H8804] and he hath committed H3426 all that he hath H3027 to my hand;

9 H1419 There is none greater H1004 in his house H3808 than I; neither H2820 [H8804] hath he kept back H3972 any thing H834 from me but thee, because H859 thou H802 art his wife: H6213 [H8799] how then can I do H1419 this great H7451 evil, H2398 [H8804] and sin H430 against God?

10 H1696 [H8763] And it came to pass, as she spoke H3130 to Joseph H3117 day H3117 by day, H8085 [H8804] that he hearkened H7901 [H8800] not to her, to lie H681 by her, or to be with her.

11 H3117 And it came to pass about this time, H935 [H8799] that Joseph went H1004 into the house H6213 [H8800] to do H4399 his work; H376 H582 and there was none of the men H1004 of the house there within.

12 H8610 [H8799] And she caught H899 him by his garment, H559 [H8800] saying, H7901 [H8798] Lie H5800 [H8799] with me: and he left H899 his garment H3027 in her hand, H5127 [H8799] and fled, H3318 [H8799] and went H2351 outside.

13 H7200 [H8800] And it came to pass, when she saw H5800 [H8804] that he had left H899 his garment H3027 in her hand, H5127 [H8799] and had fled H2351 outside,

14 H7121 [H8799] That she called H582 to the men H1004 of her house, H559 [H8799] and spoke H559 [H8800] to them, saying, H7200 [H8798] See, H935 [H8689] he hath brought in H376 H5680 an Hebrew H6711 [H8763] to us to mock H935 [H8804] us; he came in H7901 [H8800] to me to lie H7121 [H8799] with me, and I called H1419 with a loud H6963 voice:

15 H8085 [H8800] And it came to pass, when he heard H7311 [H8689] that I raised H6963 my voice H7121 [H8799] and called, H5800 [H8799] that he left H899 his garment H681 with me, H5127 [H8799] and fled, H3318 [H8799] and went H2351 outside.

16 H3240 [H8686] And she laid up H899 his garment H681 by her, H113 until his sovereign H935 [H8800] came H1004 home.

17 H1696 [H8762] And she spoke H1697 to him according to these words, H559 [H8800] saying, H5680 The Hebrew H5650 servant, H935 [H8689] which thou hast brought H935 [H8804] to us, came in H6711 [H8763] to me to mock me:

18 H7311 [H8687] And it came to pass, as I raised H6963 my voice H7121 [H8799] and called, H5800 [H8799] that he left H899 his garment H681 with me, H5127 [H8799] and fled H2351 outside.

19 H113 And it came to pass, when his master H8085 [H8800] heard H1697 the words H802 of his wife, H1696 [H8765] which she spoke H559 [H8800] to him, saying, H1697 After this manner H6213 [H8804] did H5650 thy servant H639 to me; that his anger H2734 [H8799] was kindled.

20 H3130 And Joseph's H113 master H3947 [H8799] took H5414 [H8799] him, and put him H1004 H5470 into the prison, H4725 a place H4428 where the king's H615 prisoners H631 [H8803] were bound: H1004 H5470 and he was there in the prison.

21 H3068 But the LORD H3130 was with Joseph, H5186 [H8799] and showed H2617 him mercy, H5414 [H8799] and gave H2580 him favour H5869 in the eyes H8269 of the keeper H1004 H5470 of the prison.

22 H8269 And the keeper H1004 H5470 of the prison H5414 [H8799] committed H3130 to Joseph's H3027 hand H615 all the prisoners H1004 H5470 that were in the prison; H6213 [H8802] and whatever they did H6213 [H8802] there, was done by him.

23 H8269 The keeper H1004 H5470 of the prison H7200 [H8802] looked H3972 not to any thing H3027 that was under his hand; H3068 because the LORD H6213 [H8802] was with him, and that which he did, H3068 the LORD H6743 [H8688] made it to prosper.
