Jeremiah 32 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar.

1 H1697 The word H3414 that came to Jeremiah H3068 from the LORD H6224 in the tenth H8141 year H6667 of Zedekiah H4428 king H3063 of Judah, H8083 H6240 H8141 which was the eighteenth H8141 year H5019 of Nebuchadnezzar.

2 H4428 For then the king H894 of Babylon's H2428 army H6696 [H8802] besieged H3389 Jerusalem: H3414 and Jeremiah H5030 the prophet H3607 [H8803] was shut up H2691 in the court H4307 of the prison, H4428 which was in the king H3063 of Judah's H1004 house.

3 H6667 For Zedekiah H4428 king H3063 of Judah H3607 [H8804] had shut him up, H559 [H8800] saying, H5012 [H8737] Why dost thou prophesy, H559 [H8800] and say, H559 [H8804] Thus saith H3068 the LORD, H5414 [H8802] Behold, I will give H5892 this city H3027 into the hand H4428 of the king H894 of Babylon, H3920 [H8804] and he shall take it;

4 H6667 And Zedekiah H4428 king H3063 of Judah H4422 [H8735] shall not escape H3027 from the hand H3778 of the Chaldeans, H5414 [H8736] but shall surely H5414 [H8735] be given H3027 into the hand H4428 of the king H894 of Babylon, H1696 [H8765] and shall speak H6310 with him mouth H6310 to mouth, H5869 and his eyes H7200 [H8799] shall behold H5869 his eyes;

5 H3212 [H8686] And he shall lead H6667 Zedekiah H894 to Babylon, H6485 [H8800] and there shall he be until I visit H5002 [H8803] him, saith H3068 the LORD: H3898 [H8735] though ye fight H3778 with the Chaldeans, H6743 [H8686] ye shall not prosper.

6 H3414 And Jeremiah H559 [H8799] said, H1697 The word H3068 of the LORD H559 [H8800] came to me, saying,

7 H2601 Behold, Hanameel H1121 the son H7967 of Shallum H1730 thine uncle H935 [H8802] shall come H559 [H8800] to thee, saying, H7069 [H8798] Buy H7704 for thee my field H6068 that is in Anathoth: H4941 for the right H1353 of redemption H7069 [H8800] is thine to buy it.

8 H2601 So Hanameel H1730 my uncle's H1121 son H935 [H8799] came H2691 to me in the court H4307 of the prison H1697 according to the word H3068 of the LORD, H559 [H8799] and said H7069 [H8798] to me, Buy H7704 my field, H6068 I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, H776 which is in the land H1144 of Benjamin: H4941 for the right H3425 of inheritance H1353 is thine, and the redemption H7069 [H8798] is thine; buy H3045 [H8799] it for thyself. Then I knew H1697 that this was the word H3068 of the LORD.

9 H7069 [H8799] And I bought H7704 the field H2601 of Hanameel H1730 my uncle's H1121 son, H6068 that was in Anathoth, H8254 [H8799] and weighed H3701 him the money, H7651 H6235 even seventeen H8255 shekels H3701 of silver.

10 H3789 [H8799] And I signed H5612 the deed, H2856 [H8799] and sealed H5749 [H8686] it, and took H5707 witnesses, H8254 [H8799] and weighed H3701 him the money H3976 in the balances.

11 H3947 [H8799] So I took H5612 the deed H4736 of the purchase, H2856 [H8803] both that which was sealed H4687 according to the command H2706 and custom, H1540 [H8803] and that which was open:

12 H5414 [H8799] And I gave H5612 the deed H4736 of the purchase H1263 to Baruch H1121 the son H5374 of Neriah, H1121 the son H4271 of Maaseiah, H5869 in the eyes H2601 of Hanameel H1730 my uncle's H5869 son, and in the presence H5707 of the witnesses H3789 [H8802] that signed H5612 the deed H4736 of the purchase, H5869 before H3064 all the Judeans H3427 [H8802] that sat H2691 in the court H4307 of the prison.

13 H6680 [H8762] And I charged H1263 Baruch H5869 before H559 [H8800] them, saying,

14 H559 [H8804] Thus saith H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H430 the God H3478 of Israel; H3947 [H8800] Take H5612 these deeds, H5612 this deed H4736 of the purchase, H2856 [H8803] both that which is sealed, H5612 and this deed H1540 [H8803] which is open; H5414 [H8804] and put H2789 them in an earthen H3627 vessel, H5975 [H8799] that they may continue H7227 many H3117 days.

15 H559 [H8804] For thus saith H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H430 the God H3478 of Israel; H1004 Houses H7704 and fields H3754 and vineyards H7069 [H8735] shall be possessed again H776 in this land.

16 H310 Now when H5414 [H8800] I had given H5612 the deed H4736 of the purchase H1263 to Baruch H1121 the son H5374 of Neriah, H6419 [H8691] I prayed H3068 to the LORD, H559 [H8800] saying,

17 H162 Ah H136 Sovereign H3069 LORD! H6213 [H8804] behold, thou hast made H8064 the heaven H776 and the earth H1419 by thy great H3581 power H5186 [H8803] and outstretched H2220 arm, H1697 and there is nothing H6381 [H8735] too hard for thee:

18 H6213 [H8802] Thou showest H2617 mercy H505 to thousands, H7999 [H8764] and recompensest H5771 the perversity H1 of the fathers H2436 into the bosom H1121 of their sons H310 after H1419 them: the Great, H1368 the Mighty H410 God, H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H8034 is his name,

19 H1419 Great H6098 in counsel, H7227 and mighty H5950 in work: H5869 for thine eyes H6491 [H8803] are open H1870 upon all the ways H1121 of the sons H120 of men: H5414 [H8800] to give H376 every one H1870 according to his ways, H6529 and according to the fruit H4611 of his doings:

20 H7760 [H8804] Who hast set H226 signs H4159 and wonders H776 in the land H4714 of Egypt, H3117 even to this day, H3478 and in Israel, H120 and among other men; H6213 [H8799] and hast made H8034 thee a name, H3117 as at this day;

21 H3318 [H8686] And hast brought forth H5971 thy people H3478 Israel H776 from the land H4714 of Egypt H226 with signs, H4159 and with wonders, H2389 and with a strong H3027 hand, H5186 [H8803] and with an outstretched H248 arm, H1419 and with great H4172 terror;

22 H5414 [H8799] And hast given H776 them this land, H7650 [H8738] which thou didst swear H1 to their fathers H5414 [H8800] to give H776 them, a land H2100 [H8802] flowing H2461 with milk H1706 and honey;

23 H935 [H8799] And they came in, H3423 [H8799] and possessed H8085 [H8804] it; but they obeyed H6963 not thy voice, H1980 [H8804] neither walked H8451 in thy law; H6213 [H8804] they have done H6680 [H8765] nothing of all that thou didst command H6213 [H8800] them to do: H7451 therefore thou hast caused all this evil H7122 [H8686] to come upon them:

24 H5550 Behold the mounts, H935 [H8804] they are come H5892 to the city H3920 [H8800] to take H5892 it; and the city H5414 [H8738] is given H3027 into the hand H3778 of the Chaldeans, H3898 [H8737] that fight H6440 against it, because H2719 of the sword, H7458 and of the famine, H1698 and of the pestilence: H1696 [H8765] and what thou hast spoken H7200 [H8802] is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.

25 H559 [H8804] And thou hast said H136 to me, O Sovereign H3069 LORD, H7069 [H8798] Buy H7704 thee the field H3701 for money, H5749 [H8685] and take H5707 witnesses; H5892 for the city H5414 [H8738] is given H3027 into the hand H3778 of the Chaldeans.

26 H1697 Then came the word H3068 of the LORD H3414 to Jeremiah, H559 [H8800] saying,

27 H3068 Behold, I am the LORD, H430 the God H1320 of all flesh: H1697 is there any thing H6381 [H8735] too hard for me?

28 H559 [H8804] Therefore thus saith H3068 the LORD; H5414 [H8802] Behold, I will give H5892 this city H3027 into the hand H3778 of the Chaldeans, H3027 and into the hand H5019 of Nebuchadnezzar H4428 king H894 of Babylon, H3920 [H8804] and he shall take it:

29 H3778 And the Chaldeans, H3898 [H8737] that fight H5892 against this city, H935 [H8804] shall come H3341 [H8689] and set H784 fire H5892 on this city, H8313 [H8804] and burn H1004 it with the houses, H1406 upon whose roofs H6999 [H8765] they have offered incense H1168 to Baal, H5258 [H8689] and poured out H5262 drink offerings H312 to other H430 gods, H3707 [H8687] to provoke me to anger.

30 H1121 For the sons H3478 of Israel H1121 and the sons H3063 of Judah H6213 [H8802] have done H7451 evil H5869 only before H5271 me from their youth: H1121 for the sons H3478 of Israel H3707 [H8688] have only provoked me to anger H4639 with the work H3027 of their hands, H5002 [H8803] saith H3068 the LORD.

31 H5892 For this city H639 hath been to me as a provocation of my anger H2534 and of my hot anger H3117 from the day H1129 [H8804] that they built H3117 it even to this day; H5493 [H8687] that I should remove H6440 it from before my face,

32 H7451 Because of all the evil H1121 of the sons H3478 of Israel H1121 and of the sons H3063 of Judah, H6213 [H8804] which they have done H3707 [H8687] to provoke me to anger, H4428 they, their kings, H8269 their princes, H3548 their priests, H5030 and their prophets, H376 and the men H3063 of Judah, H3427 [H8802] and the inhabitants H3389 of Jerusalem.

33 H6437 [H8799] And they have turned H6203 to me the back, H6440 and not the face: H3925 [H8763] though I taught H7925 [H8687] them, rising early H3925 [H8763] and teaching H8085 [H8802] them, yet they have not hearkened H3947 [H8800] to receive H4148 instruction.

34 H7760 [H8799] But they set H8251 their abominations H1004 in the house, H7121 [H8738] which is called H8034 by my name, H2930 [H8763] to defile it.

35 H1129 [H8799] And they built H1116 the high places H1168 of Baal, H1516 which are in the valley H1121 of the son H2011 of Hinnom, H1121 to cause their sons H1323 and their daughters H5674 [H8687] to pass H4432 through the fire to Molech; H6680 [H8765] which I commanded H5927 [H8804] them not, neither came H3820 it into my heart, H6213 [H8800] that they should do H8441 this abomination, H3063 to cause Judah H2398 [H8687] to sin.

36 H559 [H8804] And now therefore thus saith H3068 the LORD, H430 the God H3478 of Israel, H5892 concerning this city, H559 [H8802] of which ye say, H5414 [H8738] It shall be given H3027 into the hand H4428 of the king H894 of Babylon H2719 by the sword, H7458 and by the famine, H1698 and by the pestilence;

37 H6908 [H8764] Behold, I will gather them out H776 of all lands, H5080 [H8689] where I have driven H639 them in my anger, H2534 and in my hot anger, H1419 and in great H7110 splintering rage; H7725 [H8689] and I will bring them again H4725 to this place, H3427 [H8689] and I will cause them to dwell H983 in safety:

38 H5971 And they shall be my people, H430 and I will be their God:

39 H5414 [H8804] And I will give H259 them one H3820 heart, H259 and one H1870 way, H3372 [H8800] that they may fear H3117 me for ever, H2896 for the good H1121 of them, and of their sons H310 after them:

40 H3772 [H8804] And I will make H5769 an everlasting H1285 covenant H7725 [H8799] with them, that I will not turn away H310 from them, H3190 [H8687] to do them good; H5414 [H8799] but I will put H3374 my fear H3824 in their hearts, H5493 [H8800] that they shall not depart from me.

41 H7797 [H8804] Yea, I will rejoice H2895 [H8687] over them to do them good, H5193 [H8804] and I will plant H776 them in this land H571 assuredly H3820 with my whole heart H5315 and with my whole breath.

42 H559 [H8804] For thus saith H3068 the LORD; H935 [H8689] As I have brought H1419 all this great H7451 evil H5971 upon this people, H935 [H8688] so will I bring H2896 upon them all the good H1696 [H8802] that I have promised them.

43 H7704 And fields H7069 [H8738] shall be bought H776 in this land, H559 [H8802] of which ye say, H8077 It is desolate H120 without man H929 or beast; H5414 [H8738] it is given H3027 into the hand H3778 of the Chaldeans.

44 H7069 [H8799] Men shall buy H7704 fields H3701 for money, H3789 [H8800] and sign H5612 deeds, H2856 [H8800] and seal H5749 [H8687] them, and take H5707 witnesses H776 in the land H1144 of Benjamin, H5439 and in the places about H3389 Jerusalem, H5892 and in the cities H3063 of Judah, H5892 and in the cities H2022 of the mountains, H5892 and in the cities H8219 of the valley, H5892 and in the cities H5045 of the south: H7622 for I will cause their captives H7725 [H8686] to return, H5002 [H8803] saith H3068 the LORD.
