Joshua 17 There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; that is, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead: because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.

2 H3498 [H8737] There was also a lot for the rest H1121 of the sons H4519 of Manasseh H4940 by their families; H1121 for the sons H44 of Abiezer, H1121 and for the sons H2507 of Helek, H1121 and for the sons H844 of Asriel, H1121 and for the sons H7928 of Shechem, H1121 and for the sons H2660 of Hepher, H1121 and for the sons H8061 of Shemida: H2145 these were the male H1121 offspring H4519 of Manasseh H1121 the son H3130 of Joseph H4940 by their families.

3 H6765 But Zelophehad, H1121 the son H2660 of Hepher, H1121 the son H1568 of Gilead, H1121 the son H4353 of Machir, H1121 the son H4519 of Manasseh, H1121 had no sons, H1323 but daughters: H8034 and these are the names H1323 of his daughters, H4244 Mahlah, H5270 and Noah, H2295 Hoglah, H4435 Milcah, H8656 and Tirzah.

7 H1366 And the land H4519 of Manasseh H836 was from Asher H4366 to Michmethah, H6440 that lieth at the face of H7927 Shechem; H1366 and the border H1980 [H8804] went along H3225 on the right hand H3427 [H8802] to the inhabitants H5887 of Entappuah.

8 H4519 Now Manasseh H776 had the land H8599 of Tappuah: H8599 but Tappuah H1366 on the border H4519 of Manasseh H1121 belonged to the sons H669 of Ephraim;

9 H1366 And the border H3381 [H8804] descended H5158 to the river H7071 Kanah, H5045 southward H5158 of the river: H5892 these cities H669 of Ephraim H8432 are among H5892 the cities H4519 of Manasseh: H1366 the border H4519 of Manasseh H6828 also was on the north side H5158 of the river, H8444 and the ends H3220 of it were at the sea:

10 H5045 Southward H669 it was Ephraim's, H6828 and northward H4519 it was Manasseh's, H3220 and the sea H1366 is his border; H6293 [H8799] and they met together H836 in Asher H6828 on the north, H3485 and in Issachar H4217 on the east.

11 H4519 And Manasseh H3485 had in Issachar H836 and in Asher H1052 Bethshean H1323 and its towns, H2991 and Ibleam H1323 and its towns, H3427 [H8802] and the inhabitants H1756 of Dor H1323 and its towns, H3427 [H8802] and the inhabitants H5874 of Endor H1323 and its towns, H3427 [H8802] and the inhabitants H8590 of Taanach H1323 and its towns, H3427 [H8802] and the inhabitants H4023 of Megiddo H1323 and its towns, H7969 even three H5316 countries.

12 H1121 Yet the sons H4519 of Manasseh H3201 [H8804] could H3423 [H8687] not drive out H5892 the inhabitants of those cities; H3669 but the Canaanites H2974 [H8686] would H3427 [H8800] dwell H776 in that land.

13 H1121 Yet it came to pass, when the sons H3478 of Israel H2388 [H8804] had become strong, H5414 [H8799] that they subjected H3669 the Canaanites H4522 to forced labour; H3423 [H8687] but did not utterly H3423 [H8689] drive them out.

14 H1121 And the sons H3130 of Joseph H1696 [H8762] spoke H3091 to Joshua, H559 [H8800] saying, H5414 [H8804] Why hast thou given H259 me but one H1486 lot H259 and one H2256 portion H5159 to inherit, H7227 seeing I am a great H5971 people, H5704 forasmuch as H3068 the LORD H1288 [H8765] hath blessed H3541 me until now?

15 H3091 And Joshua H559 [H8799] answered H7227 them, If thou art a great H5971 people, H5927 [H8798] then go up H3293 to the forest, H1254 [H8765] and cut down H776 for thyself there in the land H6522 of the Perizzites H7497 and of the giants, H2022 if mount H669 Ephraim H213 [H8804] is too small for thee.

16 H1121 And the sons H3130 of Joseph H559 [H8799] said, H2022 The mountain H4672 [H8735] is not enough H3669 for us: and all the Canaanites H3427 [H8802] that dwell H776 in the land H6010 of the valley H7393 have chariots H1270 of iron, H1052 both they who are of Bethshean H1323 and its towns, H6010 and they who are of the valley H3157 of Jezreel.

17 H3091 And Joshua H559 [H8799] spoke H1004 to the house H3130 of Joseph, H669 even to Ephraim H4519 and to Manasseh, H559 [H8800] saying, H7227 Thou art a great H5971 people, H1419 and hast great H3581 power: H259 thou shalt not have one H1486 lot only:

18 H2022 But the mountain H3293 shall be thine; for it is a forest, H1254 [H8765] and thou shalt cut it down: H8444 and the borders H3423 [H8686] of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out H3669 the Canaanites, H1270 though they have iron H7393 chariots, H2389 and though they are strong.
