Zechariah In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD to Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,

1 H8066 In the eighth H2320 month, H8147 in the second H8141 year H1867 of Darius, H1697 came the word H3068 of the LORD H2148 to Zechariah, H1121 the son H1296 of Berechiah, H1121 the son H5714 of Iddo H5030 the prophet, H559 [H8800] saying,

2 H3068 The LORD H7110 hath been very H7107 [H8804] angry H1 with your fathers.

3 H559 [H8804] Therefore say H559 [H8804] thou to them, Thus saith H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts; H7725 [H8798] Turn H5002 [H8803] ye to me, saith H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H7725 [H8799] and I will turn H559 [H8804] to you, saith H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts.

4 H1 Be ye not as your fathers, H7223 to whom the former H5030 prophets H7121 [H8804] have called, H559 [H8800] saying, H559 [H8804] Thus saith H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts; H7725 [H8798] Turn H7451 ye now from your evil H1870 ways, H7451 and from your evil H4611 doings: H8085 [H8804] but they did not hear, H7181 [H8689] nor hearken H5002 [H8803] to me, saith H3068 the LORD.

5 H1 Your fathers, H5030 where are they? and the prophets, H2421 [H8799] do they live H5769 to the age?

6 H1697 But my words H2706 and my statutes, H6680 [H8765] which I commanded H5650 my servants H5030 the prophets, H5381 [H8689] did they not take hold H1 of your fathers? H7725 [H8799] and they returned H559 [H8799] and said, H3068 As the LORD H6635 of hosts H2161 [H8804] thought H6213 [H8800] to do H1870 to us, according to our ways, H4611 and according to our doings, H6213 [H8804] so hath he dealt with us.

7 H702 Upon the four H6242 and twentieth H3117 day H6249 H6240 of the eleventh H2320 month, H2320 which is the month H7627 Sebat, H8147 in the second H8141 year H1867 of Darius, H1697 came the word H3068 of the LORD H2148 to Zechariah, H1121 the son H1296 of Berechiah, H1121 the son H5714 of Iddo H5030 the prophet, H559 [H8800] saying,

8 H7200 [H8804] I saw H3915 by night, H376 and behold a man H7392 [H8802] riding H122 upon a red H5483 horse, H5975 [H8802] and he stood H1918 among the myrtle trees H4699 that were in the bottom; H310 and behind H122 him were there red H5483 horses, H8320 speckled, H3836 and white.

9 H559 [H8799] Then said H113 I, O my sovereign, H4397 what are these? And the messenger H1696 [H8802] that talked H559 [H8799] with me said H7200 [H8686] to me, I will show thee what these are.

10 H376 And the man H5975 [H8802] that stood H1918 among the myrtle trees H6030 [H8799] answered H559 [H8799] and said, H3068 These are they whom the LORD H7971 [H8804] hath sent H1980 [H8692] to walk H776 to and fro through the earth.

11 H6030 [H8799] And they answered H4397 the messenger H3068 of the LORD H5975 [H8802] that stood H1918 among the myrtle trees, H559 [H8799] and said, H1980 [H8694] We have walked to and fro H776 through the earth, H776 and, behold, all the earth H3427 [H8802] sitteth still, H8252 [H8802] and is at rest.

12 H4397 Then the messenger H3068 of the LORD H6030 [H8799] answered H559 [H8799] and said, H3068 O LORD H6635 of hosts, H7355 [H8762] how long wilt thou not fondle H3389 Jerusalem H5892 and the cities H3063 of Judah, H2194 [H8804] against which thou hast foamed at the mouth H7657 these seventy H8141 years?

13 H3068 And the LORD H6030 [H8799] answered H4397 the messenger H1696 [H8802] that talked H2896 with me with good H1697 words H5150 and consoling H1697 words.

14 H4397 So the messenger H1696 [H8802] that talked H559 [H8799] with me said H7121 [H8798] to me, Call H559 [H8800] thou, saying, H559 [H8804] Thus saith H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts; H7065 [H8765] I am jealous H3389 for Jerusalem H6726 and for Zion H1419 with a great H7068 jealousy.

15 H9002 And H1419 with great H7110 splintering rage H589 I H7107 [H8804] am bursting out in rage H5921 with H9009 the H1471 nations H9009 that are H7600 at ease: H834 for H589 I H4592 was but a little H7107 [H8802] bursting out in rage, H9002 and H1992 they H5826 [H8804] helped H9005 forward H7451 the evil.

16 H559 [H8804] Therefore thus saith H3068 the LORD; H7725 [H8804] I have returned H3389 to Jerusalem H7356 with compassions: H1004 my house H1129 [H8735] shall be built H5002 [H8803] in it, saith H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H6957 H6961 [H8675] and a line H5186 [H8735] shall be stretched forth H3389 upon Jerusalem.

17 H7121 [H8798] Call H559 [H8800] yet, saying, H559 [H8804] Thus saith H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts; H5892 My cities H2896 through prosperity H6327 [H8799] shall yet be spread abroad; H3068 and the LORD H5162 [H8765] shall yet comfort H6726 Zion, H977 [H8804] and shall yet choose H3389 Jerusalem.

18 H5375 [H8799] Then I lifted up H5869 my eyes, H7200 [H8799] and saw, H702 and behold four H7161 horns.

19 H559 [H8799] And I said H4397 to the messenger H1696 [H8802] that talked H559 [H8799] with me, What are these? And he answered H7161 me, These are the horns H2219 [H8765] which have scattered H3063 Judah, H3478 Israel, H3389 and Jerusalem.

20 H3068 And the LORD H7200 [H8686] showed H702 me four H2796 craftsmen.

21 H559 [H8799] Then said H935 [H8802] I, What come H6213 [H8800] these to do? H559 [H8799] And he spoke, H559 [H8800] saying, H7161 These are the horns H2219 [H8765] which have scattered H3063 Judah, H6310 so that H376 no man H5375 [H8804] lifted up H7218 his head: H935 [H8799] but these are come H2729 [H8687] to terrify H3034 [H8763] them, to cast down H7161 the horns H1471 of the nations, H5375 [H8802] which lifted H7161 their horn H776 over the land H3063 of Judah H2219 [H8763] to scatter it.
