  13 H3947 ויקח took H8050 שׁמואל Then Samuel H853 את   H7161 קרן the horn H8081 השׁמן of oil, H4886 וימשׁח and anointed H853 אתו   H7130 בקרב him in the midst H251 אחיו of his brethren: H6743 ותצלח came H7307 רוח and the Spirit H3068 יהוה of the LORD H413 אל upon H1732 דוד David H3117 מהיום   H1931 ההוא   H4605 ומעלה forward.   20 H3947 ויקח took H3448 ישׁי And Jesse H2543 חמור an ass H3899 לחם with bread, H4997 ונאד and a bottle H3196 יין of wine, H1423 וגדי kid, H5795 עזים kid, H259 אחד and a H7971 וישׁלח and sent H3027 ביד by H1732 דוד David H1121 בנו his son H413 אל unto H7586 שׁאול׃ Saul.

  21 H935 ויבא came H1732 דוד And David H413 אל to H7586 שׁאול Saul, H5975 ויעמד and stood H6440 לפניו before H157 ויאהבהו him: and he loved H3966 מאד him greatly; H1961 ויהי and he became H5375 לו נשׂא his armorbearer. H3627 כלים׃ his armorbearer.

  22 H7971 וישׁלח sent H7586 שׁאול And Saul H413 אל to H3448 ישׁי Jesse, H559 לאמר saying, H5975 יעמד stand H4994 נא I pray thee, H1732 דוד Let David, H6440 לפני before H3588 כי me; for H4672 מצא he hath found H2580 חן favor H5869 בעיני׃ in my sight.

  23 H1961 והיה And it came to pass, H1961 בהיות when H7307 רוח the spirit H430 אלהים from God H413 אל was upon H7586 שׁאול Saul, H3947 ולקח took H1732 דוד that David H853 את   H3658 הכנור a harp, H5059 ונגן and played H3027 בידו with his hand: H7304 ורוח was refreshed, H7586 לשׁאול so Saul H2895 וטוב and was well, H5493 לו וסרה departed H5921 מעליו from H7307 רוח spirit H7451 הרעה׃ and the evil

  12 H1732 ודוד Now David H1121 בן the son H376 אישׁ and the man H673 אפרתי   H2088 הזה of that H1035 מבית לחם   H3063 יהודה   H8034 ושׁמו whose name H3448 ישׁי Jesse; H8083 ולו שׁמנה and he had eight H1121 בנים sons: H376 והאישׁ among men H3117 בימי man in the days H7586 שׁאול of Saul. H2204 זקן an old H935 בא went H376 באנשׁים׃  

  14 H1732 ודוד And David H1931 הוא   H6996 הקטן the youngest: H7969 ושׁלשׁה and the three H1419 הגדלים eldest H1980 הלכו followed H310 אחרי followed H7586 שׁאול׃ Saul.

  15 H1732 ודוד But David H1980 הלך went H7725 ושׁב and returned H5921 מעל from H7586 שׁאול Saul H7462 לרעות to feed H853 את   H6629 צאן sheep H1 אביו his father's H1035 בית לחם׃ at Bethlehem.

  17 H559 ויאמר said H3448 ישׁי And Jesse H1732 לדוד unto David H1121 בנו his son, H3947 קח Take H4994 נא now H251 לאחיך for thy brethren H374 איפת an ephah H7039 הקליא parched H2088 הזה of this H6235 ועשׂרה ten H3899 לחם loaves, H2088 הזה and these H7323 והרץ and run H4264 המחנה to the camp H251 לאחיך׃ to thy brethren;

  28 H8085 וישׁמע heard H446 אליאב And Eliab H251 אחיו brother H1419 הגדול his eldest H1696 בדברו when he spoke H413 אל unto H376 האנשׁים the men; H2734 ויחר was kindled H639 אף anger H446 אליאב and Eliab's H1732 בדוד against David, H559 ויאמר and he said, H4100 למה Why H2088 זה   H3381 ירדת camest thou down H5921 ועל hither? and with H4310 מי whom H5203 נטשׁת hast thou left H4592 מעט few H6629 הצאן sheep H2007 ההנה those H4057 במדבר in the wilderness?   29 H559 ויאמר said, H1732 דוד And David H4100 מה What H6213 עשׂיתי done? H6258 עתה have I now H3808 הלוא not H1697 דבר a cause? H1931 הוא׃  

  31 H8085 וישׁמעו were heard H1697 הדברים And when the words H834 אשׁר which H1696 דבר spoke, H1732 דוד David H5046 ויגדו they rehearsed H6440 לפני before H7586 שׁאול Saul: H3947 ויקחהו׃ and he sent

  32 H559 ויאמר said H1732 דוד And David H413 אל to H7586 שׁאול Saul, H408 אל Let no H5307 יפל fail H3820 לב heart H120 אדם man's H5921 עליו because H5650 עבדך of him; thy servant H1980 ילך will go H3898 ונלחם and fight H5973 עם with H6430 הפלשׁתי Philistine. H2088 הזה׃ this

  33 H559 ויאמר said H7586 שׁאול And Saul H413 אל to H1732 דוד David, H3808 לא Thou art not H3201 תוכל able H1980 ללכת to go H413 אל against H6430 הפלשׁתי Philistine H2088 הזה this H3898 להלחם to fight H5973 עמו with H3588 כי him: for H5288 נער a youth, H859 אתה thou H1931 והוא and he H376 אישׁ a man H4421 מלחמה of war H5271 מנעריו׃ from his youth.

  34 H559 ויאמר said H1732 דוד And David H413 אל unto H7586 שׁאול Saul, H7462 רעה kept H1961 היה kept H5650 עבדך Thy servant H1 לאביו his father's H6629 בצאן sheep, H935 ובא and there came H738 הארי a lion, H853 ואת   H1677 הדוב and a bear, H5375 ונשׂא and took H7716 שׂה a lamb H5739 מהעדר׃ out of the flock:

  37 H559 ויאמר said H1732 דוד David H3068 יהוה moreover, The LORD H834 אשׁר that H5337 הצלני delivered H3027 מיד me out of the paw H738 הארי of the lion, H3027 ומיד and out of the paw H1677 הדב of the bear, H1931 הוא he H5337 יצילני will deliver H3027 מיד me out of the hand H6430 הפלשׁתי Philistine. H2088 הזה of this H559 ויאמר said H7586 שׁאול And Saul H413 אל unto H1732 דוד David, H1980 לך Go, H3068 ויהוה and the LORD H1961 יהיה be H5973 עמך׃ with

  38 H3847 וילבשׁ armed H7586 שׁאול And Saul H853 את   H1732 דוד David H4055 מדיו with his armor, H5414 ונתן and he put H6959 קובע a helmet H5178 נחשׁת of brass H5921 על upon H7218 ראשׁו his head; H3847 וילבשׁ also he armed H853 אתו   H8302 שׁריון׃ him with a coat of mail.

  39 H2296 ויחגר girded H1732 דוד And David H853 את   H2719 חרבו his sword H5921 מעל upon H4055 למדיו his armor, H2974 ויאל and he attempted H1980 ללכת to go; H3588 כי for H3808 לא he had not H5254 נסה proved H559 ויאמר said H1732 דוד And David H413 אל unto H7586 שׁאול Saul, H3808 לא I have not H3201 אוכל   H1980 ללכת go H428 באלה with these; H3588 כי for H3808 לא   H5254 נסיתי proved H5493 ויסרם put H1732 דוד And David H5921 מעליו׃ them off

  41 H1980 וילך came H6430 הפלשׁתי And the Philistine H1980 הלך on H7131 וקרב and drew near H413 אל unto H1732 דוד David; H376 והאישׁ and the man H5375 נשׂא that bore H6793 הצנה the shield H6440 לפניו׃ before

  42 H5027 ויבט looked about, H6430 הפלשׁתי And when the Philistine H7200 ויראה and saw H853 את   H1732 דוד David, H959 ויבזהו he disdained H3588 כי him: for H1961 היה he was H5288 נער a youth, H132 ואדמני and ruddy, H5973 עם and of H3303 יפה a fair H4758 מראה׃ countenance.

  43 H559 ויאמר said H6430 הפלשׁתי And the Philistine H413 אל unto H1732 דוד David, H3611 הכלב a dog, H595 אנכי I H3588 כי that H859 אתה thou H935 בא comest H413 אלי to H4731 במקלות me with staves? H7043 ויקלל cursed H6430 הפלשׁתי And the Philistine H853 את   H1732 דוד David H430 באלהיו׃ by his gods.

  44 H559 ויאמר said H6430 הפלשׁתי And the Philistine H413 אל to H1732 דוד David, H1980 לכה Come H413 אלי to H5414 ואתנה me, and I will give H853 את   H1320 בשׂרך thy flesh H5775 לעוף unto the fowls H8064 השׁמים of the air, H929 ולבהמת and to the beasts H7704 השׂדה׃ of the field.

  45 H559 ויאמר Then said H1732 דוד David H413 אל to H6430 הפלשׁתי the Philistine, H859 אתה Thou H935 בא comest H413 אלי to H2719 בחרב me with a sword, H2595 ובחנית and with a spear, H3591 ובכידון and with a shield: H595 ואנכי but I H935 בא come H413 אליך to H8034 בשׁם thee in the name H3068 יהוה of the LORD H6635 צבאות of hosts, H430 אלהי the God H4634 מערכות of the armies H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H834 אשׁר whom H2778 חרפת׃ thou hast defied.
