²¹ that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us: that the world may believe that thou didst send me.

¹⁹ For there must be also factions among you, that they that are approved may be made manifest among you.

¹ I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called, ² with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; ³ giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. ⁴ [There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling; ⁵ one Lord, one faith, one baptism, ⁶ one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all. ⁷ But unto each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ. ⁸ Wherefore he saith,
When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive,
And gave gifts unto men. ⁹ (Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) ¹¹ And he gave some [to be] apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; ¹² for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ: ¹³ till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

²⁰ Now a mediator is not [a mediator] of one; but God is one.

¹⁸ And I also say unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

⁴ For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members have not the same office: ⁵ so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and severally members one of another. ⁶ And having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, whether prophecy, [let us prophesy] according to the proportion of our faith; ⁷ or ministry, [let us give ourselves] to our ministry; or he that teacheth, to his teaching; ⁸ or he that exhorteth, to his exhorting: he that giveth, [let him do it] with liberality; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness.
⁹ Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. ¹⁰ In love of the brethren be tenderly affectioned one to another; in honor preferring one another; ¹¹ in diligence not slothful; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; ¹² rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing stedfastly in prayer; ¹³ communicating to the necessities of the saints; given to hospitality. ¹⁴ Bless them that persecute you; bless, and curse not. ¹⁵ Rejoice with them that rejoice; weep with them that weep. ¹⁶ Be of the same mind one toward another. Set not your mind on high things, but condescend to things that are lowly. Be not wise in your own conceits. ¹⁷ Render to no man evil for evil. Take thought for things honorable in the sight of all men. ¹⁸ If it be possible, as much as in you lieth, be at peace with all men. ¹⁹ Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place unto the wrath [of God]: for it is written, Vengeance belongeth unto me; I will recompense, saith the Lord. ²⁰ But if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him to drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head. ²¹ Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

¹³ Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized into the name of Paul?

²⁵ And knowing their thoughts he said unto them, { Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

²⁰ Neither for these only do I pray, but for them also that believe on me through their word; ²¹ that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us: that the world may believe that thou didst send me. ²² And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that they may be one, even as we [are] one; ²³ I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them, even as thou lovedst me. ²⁴ Father, I desire that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. ²⁵ O righteous Father, the world knew thee not, but I knew thee; and these knew that thou didst send me; ²⁶ and I made known unto them thy name, and will make it known; that the love wherewith thou lovedst me may be in them, and I in them.}

⁴ For when one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not men? ⁵ What then is Apollos? and what is Paul? Ministers through whom ye believed; and each as the Lord gave to him. ⁶ I planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. ⁷ So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

¹ But speak thou the things which befit the sound doctrine:

⁹ Whosoever goeth onward and abideth not in the teaching of Christ, hath not God: he that abideth in the teaching, the same hath both the Father and the Son.

¹² For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. ¹³ For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all made to drink of one Spirit. ¹⁴ For the body is not one member, but many. ¹⁵ If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; it is not therefore not of the body. ¹⁶ And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; it is not therefore not of the body. ¹⁷ If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? ¹⁸ But now hath God set the members each one of them in the body, even as it pleased him. ¹⁹ And if they were all one member, where were the body? ²⁰ But now they are many members, but one body. ²¹ And the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of thee: or again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. ²² Nay, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be more feeble are necessary: ²³ and those [parts] of the body, which we think to be less honorable, upon these we bestow more abundant honor; and our uncomely [parts] have more abundant comeliness; ²⁴ whereas our comely [parts] have no need: but God tempered the body together, giving more abundant honor to that [part] which lacked; ²⁵ that there should be no schism in the body; but [that] the members should have the same care one for another. ²⁶ And whether one member suffereth, all the members suffer with it; or [one] member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. ²⁷ Now ye are the body of Christ, and severally members thereof. ²⁸ And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, [divers] kinds of tongues. ²⁹ Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all [workers of] miracles? ³⁰ have all gifts of healings? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? ³¹ But desire earnestly the greater gifts. And moreover a most excellent way show I unto you.

⁶ I marvel that ye are so quickly removing from him that called you in the grace of Christ unto a different gospel; ⁷ which is not another [gospel]: only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. ⁸ But though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach unto you any gospel other than that which we preached unto you, let him be anathema. ⁹ As we have said before, so say I now again, If any man preacheth unto you any gospel other than that which ye received, let him be anathema. ¹⁰ For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? or am I striving to please men? if I were still pleasing men, I should not be a servant of Christ.

⁴ [There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling; ⁵ one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

¹⁷ Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them that are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which ye learned: and turn away from them.

¹² Now this I mean, that each one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. ¹³ Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized into the name of Paul?

¹⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and [that] there be no divisions among you; but [that] ye be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
