²⁸ Καὶ (And) περὶ (about) ἐνδύματος (clothing) τί (why) μεριμνᾶτε (are you anxious)? καταμάθετε (Observe) τὰ (the) κρίνα (lilies) τοῦ (of the) ἀγροῦ (field), πῶς (how) αὐξάνουσιν (they grow): οὐ (They do not) κοπιῶσιν (labor) οὐδὲ (nor) νήθουσιν (do they spin). ²⁹ λέγω (I say) δὲ (however) ὑμῖν (to you) ὅτι (that) οὐδὲ (not even) Σολομὼν (Solomon) ἐν (in) πάσῃ (all) τῇ (the) δόξῃ (glory) αὐτοῦ (of him) περιεβάλετο (was adorned) ὡς (like) ἓν (one) τούτων (of these). ³⁰ εἰ (If) δὲ (however) τὸν (the) χόρτον (grass) τοῦ (of the) ἀγροῦ (field), σήμερον (today) ὄντα (being here), καὶ (and) αὔριον (tomorrow) εἰς (into) κλίβανον (the furnace) βαλλόμενον (being thrown), ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) οὕτως (thus) ἀμφιέννυσιν (clothes), οὐ (will He not) πολλῷ (much) μᾶλλον (more) ὑμᾶς (you), ὀλιγόπιστοι (O you of little faith)?

¹⁹ διότι (because) τὸ (the) γνωστὸν (known) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) φανερόν (manifest) ἐστιν (is) ἐν (among) αὐτοῖς (them), ὁ (-) θεὸς (God) γὰρ (for) αὐτοῖς (to them) ἐφανέρωσεν (has revealed it). ²⁰ τὰ (The) γὰρ (for) ἀόρατα (invisible qualities) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἀπὸ (from) κτίσεως (the creation) κόσμου (of the world), τοῖς (by the) ποιήμασιν (things made) νοούμενα (being understood), καθορᾶται (are clearly seen), ἥ (the) τε (both) ἀΐδιος (eternal) αὐτοῦ (of Him) δύναμις (power) καὶ (and) θειότης (divinity), εἰς (for) τὸ (-) εἶναι (to be) αὐτοὺς (them) ἀναπολογήτους (without excuse).

¹⁹ ἡ (The) γὰρ (for) ἀποκαραδοκία (earnest expectation) τῆς (of the) κτίσεως (creation), τὴν (the) ἀποκάλυψιν (revelation) τῶν (of the) υἱῶν (sons) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ἀπεκδέχεται (awaits). ²⁰ τῇ (To the) γὰρ (for) ματαιότητι (futility), ἡ (the) κτίσις (creation) ὑπετάγη (was subjected), οὐχ (not) ἑκοῦσα (willingly), ἀλλὰ (but) διὰ (because of) τὸν (the One) ὑποτάξαντα (having subjected it), ἐφ’ (in) ἑλπίδι (hope) ²¹ ὅτι* (that) καὶ (also) αὐτὴ (itself) ἡ (the) κτίσις (creation) ἐλευθερωθήσεται (will be set free) ἀπὸ (from) τῆς (the) δουλείας (bondage) τῆς (-) φθορᾶς (of decay), εἰς (into) τὴν (the) ἐλευθερίαν (freedom) τῆς (of the) δόξης (glory) τῶν (of the) τέκνων (children) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God). ²² Οἴδαμεν (We know) γὰρ (for) ὅτι (that) πᾶσα (all) ἡ (the) κτίσις (creation) συστενάζει (groans together) καὶ (and) συνωδίνει (travails together) ἄχρι (until) τοῦ (-) νῦν (now).
