Leviticus 7:23-24
Leviticus 11:1-47
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying to them.
2 Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, These are the animals which you may eat of all the beasts which are on the land.
3 Every one bisecting the hoof and cleaving the cleft of the hooves and bringing up the cud among beasts, you may eat it.
4 Only this is what you may not eat of those bringing up the cud or bisecting the hoof:the camel (for it is bringing up the cud yet is not bisecting the hoof; it is unclean for you),
5 the coney, (for it is bringing up the cud yet is not bisecting the hoof; it is unclean for you),
6 the hare, (for it is bringing up the cud yet does not bisect the hoof; it is unclean for you),
7 and the boar, (for it is bisecting the hoof and is cleaving the cleft of the hoof, yet it is not stirring up the cud; it is unclean for you).
8 Of their flesh you may not eat, and their carcass you may not touch; they are unclean for you.
9 This is what you may eat of all those which are in the waters:all that have fins and scales in the waters, in the seas and in the watercourses, you may eat them.
10 Yet all that have no fins or scales in the waters, in the seas and in the watercourses of every swarmer of the waters, of any living soul which is in the waters, they are an abomination to you.
11 Since they shall come to be an abomination for you, you may not eat of their flesh, and you shall regard their carcass as abominable.
12 All that has no fins or scales in the waters, it is an abomination to you.
13 These you shall regard as abominable among the flyers; they shall not be eaten; they are an abomination:the vulture, the bearded vulture and the eagle,
14 the black kite and the falcon, all of its kind,
15 every raven, all of its kind,
16 the ostrich, the screech owl, the gull and the hawk, all of its kind,
17 the little owl, the cormorant and the eagle owl,
18 the ibis, the pelican and the Egyptian vulture,
19 the stork, the heron, all of its kind, the hoopoe and the bat.
20 Every swarmer of the flyers going on all fours, it is an abomination to you.
21 Only this one you may eat of every swarmer of the flyers, the one going on all fours which has shanks above its feet to hop with them on the land.
22 These of them may you eat:the locust, all of its kind, the bald locust, all of its kind, the cricket, all of its kind, and the grasshopper, all of its kind.
23 Yet every other swarmer of the flyers which has four feet, it is an abomination to you.
24 Also you are defiling yourselves with these:(Everyone touching their carcass shall be unclean until the evening;
25 everyone carrying some of their carcass shall rinse his garments and will be unclean until the evening.)
26 As for every beast which is bisecting the hoof, yet the cleft it is not cleaving, and the cud it is not bringing up:they are unclean to you. Everyone touching them shall be unclean.
27 And everything going on its soles among all the animals going on all fours, they are unclean to you. Everyone touching their carcass shall be unclean until the evening;"
28 and the one carrying their carcass shall rinse his garments and will be unclean until the evening. They are unclean to you.
29 This is unclean to you among the swarmers swarming on the land:the weasel, the rodent and the great lizard, all of its kind,
30 the gecko, the monitor, the lizard, the sand lizard and the chameleon.
31 These are unclean to you among all the swarmers. Everyone touching them in their death shall be unclean until the evening.
32 And everything on which any of them should fall in their death shall be unclean; from every article of wood or garment or leather or sackcloth, to every article in which work is done, into water shall it be brought, and it will be unclean until the evening; then it will be clean.
33 Yet every earthenware vessel into the midst of which any of them should fall, all that is in its midst shall be unclean, and you shall break it.
34 Any food which may otherwise be eaten on which such water should come shall be unclean; and any drink which may otherwise be drunk in any such vessel shall be unclean.
35 Also everything on which some of their carcass should fall shall be unclean; a stove or an oven shall be broken down. They are unclean; they shall become unclean to you.
36 Only a spring or cistern, a confluence of water, shall remain clean. Yet the one touching their carcass shall be unclean.
37 In case anything from their carcass should fall on any sowing seed which was sown, it shall be clean;"
38 yet in case water was put on the seed and anything from their carcass fell on it, it shall be unclean to you.
39 In case any of the beasts which is yours for food dies, the one touching any of its carcass shall be unclean until the evening.
40 And the one eating any of its carcass shall rinse his garments and will be unclean until the evening. Also the one carrying any of its carcass shall rinse his garments and will be unclean until the evening.
41 Any swarmer swarming on the land, it is an abomination; it shall not be eaten.
42 All going on the torso and all going on all fours, even all on many pairs of feet of any swarmer swarming on the land, you may not eat them, for they are an abomination.
43 Do not make your souls abominable with any swarming swarmer, nor shall you defile yourselves with them, or you will be unclean by them.
44 For I, Yahweh, am your Elohim, so you will sanctify yourselves and become holy, for I am holy. Hence you shall not defile your souls with any swarmer moving on the land.
45 For I, Yahweh, am the One bringing you up from the land of Egypt, to be your Elohim; so become holy, for I am holy.
46 This is the law about the beast, the flyer and every living soul moving in the water and about every soul swarming on the land,
47 to differentiate between the unclean and the clean, between the animal which may be eaten and the animal which may not be eaten.
Leviticus 7:23
23 Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, You shall not eat any fat from a bull, sheep or goat.
Deuteronomy 8:3
3 So He made you humble and let you hunger; then He fed you with the manna which neither you had known, nor had your fathers known, that He might make you realize that not on bread alone shall the human live, for by every utterance from the mouth of Yahweh shall the human live.
Proverbs 30:8-9
Isaiah 25:6
6 And Yahweh of hosts makes for all peoples, in this mountain, a feast of oils, a feast of lees, of oils from marrows, of filtered lees."
Daniel 1:11-16
11 Saying is Daniel to the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs assigned over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah,
12 Pray, try out your servants ten days. They shall give to us of the seed-foods of the land, and we will eat; and water, we will drink."
13 Our appearances shall be seen before you, and the appearance of the boys who are eating the king's dainties. According to what you shall see, do with your servants."
14 Now he is hearkening to them in this thing and trying them out ten days,
15 and at the end of ten days, their appearance is seen to be better and plumper in flesh than any of the boys who are eating the king's dainties."
16 Hence the steward keeps on bearing away their dainties and the wine, their drink, and is giving to them seed-foods."
Daniel 1:1-21
1 In the third year of the kingdom of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, comes Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, to Jerusalem and is besieging it."
2 Yet Yahweh is giving into his hand Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and at the end, the furnishings of the house of Elohim. Then he is bringing them to the land of Shinar, to the house of his Elohim, and the furnishings he brings to the treasure-house of his Elohim."
3 Speaking is the king to Ashpenaz, the grandee of his eunuchs, to bring of the sons of the grandees of Israel, and of the seed royal, and of the highborn;"
4 boys in whom there is no blemish at all, who are of good appearance. Those intelligent in all wisdom, and knowing knowledge, and understanding what is known, and who have vigor in them to stand in the palace before the king, he is to teach them the script and language of the Chaldeans."
5 Assigning is the king to them the day's menu in its day, from the dainties of the king, and from the wine of the king's feasts. They are to grow up three years, and at their end they are to stand before the king."
6 Now there are among them (of the sons of Judah) Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah."
7 When the chief of the eunuchs is giving names to them, he is naming Daniel Belteshazzar, Hananiah Shadrach, Mishael Meshach, and Azariah Abed-nego."
8 Yet determining is Daniel in his heart that he will not sully himself with the dainties of the king, or with the wine of his feasts. When he is seeking permission from the chief of the eunuchs that he not be sullying himself,
9 Elohim is showing Daniel kindness and compassion before the chief of the eunuchs.
10 Saying is the chief of the eunuchs to Daniel, "I am fearing my lord the king who assigned your food and your drink. Why shall he see your faces more languid and feeble than the other boys who are of your deportation? You make me indebted to the king with my head!"
17 To these boys, the four of them, Elohim gives knowledge and intelligence in every script, as well as wisdom; in addition Daniel is given understanding in every vision and in dreams."
18 And at the end of the days the king says to bring them in. Then the chief of the eunuchs is bringing them before Nebuchadnezzar.
19 Speaking is the king with them, and of them all, none is found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. Henceforth they are standing before the king;"
20 in every matter of wisdom and of understanding which the king seeks of them, he is finding them tenfold above all the sacred scribes and magi which are in all his kingdom. Hence they are honored by the king; he constitutes them chiefs, and he finds them wiser in word than all those in his land and in his kingdom."
21 Thus Daniel continued on till year one of Cyrus, the king of Persia."
