¹ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ² Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am Jehovah your God. ³ After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do; and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do; neither shall ye walk in their customs. ⁴ Mine ordinances shall ye do and my statutes shall ye observe to walk therein: I am Jehovah your God. ⁵ And ye shall observe my statutes and my judgments, by which the man that doeth them shall live: I am Jehovah. ⁶ No one shall approach to any that is his near relation, to uncover his nakedness: I am Jehovah. ⁷ The nakedness of thy father, and the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother: thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. ⁸ The nakedness of thy father`s wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father`s nakedness. ⁹ The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, born at home, or born abroad -- their nakedness shalt thou not uncover. ¹⁰ The nakedness of thy son`s daughter, or of thy daughter`s daughter -- their nakedness shalt thou not uncover; for theirs is thy nakedness. ¹¹ The nakedness of thy father`s wife`s daughter, begotten of thy father: she is thy sister: thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. ¹² The nakedness of thy father`s sister shalt thou not uncover: she is thy father`s near relation. ¹³ The nakedness of thy mother`s sister shalt thou not uncover; for she is thy mother`s near relation. ¹⁴ The nakedness of thy father`s brother shalt thou not uncover; thou shalt not approach his wife: she is thine aunt. <sup>15</sup> The nakedness of thy daughter-in-law shalt thou not uncover: she is thy son`s wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. ¹⁶ The nakedness of thy brother`s wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy brother`s nakedness. ¹⁷ The nakedness of a woman and her daughter shalt thou not uncover; thou shalt not take her son`s daughter, nor her daughter`s daughter, to uncover her nakedness: they are her near relations: it is wickedness. ¹⁸ And thou shalt not take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness beside her, during her life. ¹⁹ And thou shalt not approach a woman in the separation of her uncleanness to uncover her nakedness. ²⁰ And thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour`s wife, to become unclean with her. ²¹ And thou shalt not give of thy seed to let them pass through [the fire] to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am Jehovah. ²² And thou shalt not lie with mankind as one lieth with a woman: it is an abomination. ²³ And thou shalt lie with no beast to become unclean therewith; and a woman shall not stand before a beast to lie down with it: it is confusion. ²⁴ Make not yourselves unclean in any of these things; for in all these have the nations which I am casting out before you made themselves unclean. ²⁵ And the land hath become unclean; and I visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land vomiteth out its inhabitants. ²⁶ But *ye* shall observe my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of all these abominations: the home-born, and the stranger that sojourneth among you; ²⁷ (for all these abominations have the men of the land done, who were before you, and the land hath been made unclean); ²⁸ that the land vomit you not out, when ye make it unclean, as it vomited out the nation that was before you. ²⁹ For whoever committeth any of these abominations, ... the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people. ³⁰ And ye shall observe my charge, that ye commit not [any] of the abominable customs which were committed before you; and ye shall not make yourselves unclean therein: I am Jehovah your God.

²⁶ For this reason God gave them up to vile lusts; for both their females changed the natural use into that contrary to nature; ²⁷ and in like manner the males also, leaving the natural use of the female, were inflamed in their lust towards one another; males with males working shame, and receiving in themselves the recompense of their error which was fit.

¹⁸ For there is revealed wrath of God from heaven upon all impiety, and unrighteousness of men holding the truth in unrighteousness. ¹⁹ Because what is known of God is manifest among them, for God has manifested [it] to them, ²⁰ -- for from [the] world`s creation the invisible things of him are perceived, being apprehended by the mind through the things that are made, both his eternal power and divinity, -- so as to render them inexcusable. ²¹ Because, knowing God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but fell into folly in their thoughts, and their heart without understanding was darkened: ²² professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, ²³ and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into [the] likeness of an image of corruptible man and of birds and quadrupeds and reptiles. ²⁴ Wherefore God gave them up [also] in the lusts of their hearts to uncleanness, to dishonour their bodies between themselves: ²⁵ who changed the truth of God into falsehood, and honoured and served the creature more than him who had created [it], who is blessed for ever. Amen. ²⁶ For this reason God gave them up to vile lusts; for both their females changed the natural use into that contrary to nature; ²⁷ and in like manner the males also, leaving the natural use of the female, were inflamed in their lust towards one another; males with males working shame, and receiving in themselves the recompense of their error which was fit. ²⁸ And according as they did not think good to have God in [their] knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind to practise unseemly things; ²⁹ being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil dispositions; whisperers, ³⁰ back-biters, hateful to God, insolent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, ³¹ void of understanding, faithless, without natural affection, unmerciful; ³² who knowing the righteous judgment of God, that they who do such things are worthy of death, not only practise them, but have fellow delight in those who do [them].

⁹ Do ye not know that unrighteous [persons] shall not inherit [the] kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who make women of themselves, nor who abuse themselves with men,

¹⁰ Love works no ill to its neighbour; love therefore [is the] whole law. ¹¹ This also, knowing the time, that it is already time that *we* should be aroused out of sleep; for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed. ¹² The night is far spent, and the day is near; let us cast away therefore the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. ¹³ As in the day, let us walk becomingly; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and lasciviousness, not in strife and emulation. ¹⁴ But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not take forethought for the flesh to [fulfil its] lusts.

⁹ Do ye not know that unrighteous [persons] shall not inherit [the] kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who make women of themselves, nor who abuse themselves with men, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor abusive persons, nor [the] rapacious, shall inherit [the] kingdom of God. ¹¹ And these things were some of you; but ye have been washed, but ye have been sanctified, but ye have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

¹ And he came to Derbe and Lystra: and behold, a certain disciple was there, by name Timotheus, son of a Jewish believing woman, but [the] father a Greek, ² who had a [good] testimony of the brethren in Lystra and Iconium. ³ Him would Paul have go forth with him, and took [him and] circumcised him on account of the Jews who were in those places, for they all knew his father that he was a Greek. ⁴ And as they passed through the cities they instructed them to observe the decrees determined on by the apostles and elders who were in Jerusalem. ⁵ The assemblies therefore were confirmed in the faith, and increased in number every day. ⁶ And having passed through Phrygia and the Galatian country, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia, ⁷ having come down to Mysia, they attempted to go to Bithynia, and the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them; ⁸ and having passed by Mysia they descended to Troas. ⁹ And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: There was a certain Macedonian man, standing and beseeching him, and saying, Pass over into Macedonia and help us. ¹⁰ And when he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go forth to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to announce to them the glad tidings. ¹¹ Having sailed therefore away from Troas, we went in a straight course to Samothracia, and on the morrow to Neapolis, ¹² and thence to Philippi, which is [the] first city of that part of Macedonia, a colony. And we were staying in that city certain days. ¹³ And on the sabbath day we went outside the gate by the river, where it was the custom for prayer to be, and we sat down and spoke to the women who had assembled. ¹⁴ And a certain woman, by name Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, who worshipped God, heard; whose heart the Lord opened to attend to the things spoken by Paul. ¹⁵ And when she had been baptised and her house, she besought [us], saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and abide [there]. And she constrained us. ¹⁶ And it came to pass as we were going to prayer that a certain female slave, having a spirit of Python, met us, who brought much profit to her masters by prophesying. ¹⁷ She, having followed Paul and us, cried saying, These men are bondmen of the Most High God, who announce to you [the] way of salvation. ¹⁸ And this she did many days. And Paul, being distressed, turned, and said to the spirit, I enjoin thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And it came out the same hour. ¹⁹ And her masters, seeing that the hope of their gains was gone, having seized Paul and Silas, dragged [them] into the market before the magistrates; ²⁰ and having brought them up to the praetors, said, These men utterly trouble our city, being Jews, ²¹ and announce customs which it is not lawful for us to receive nor practise, being Romans. ²² And the crowd rose up too against them; and the praetors, having torn off their clothes, commanded to scourge [them]. ²³ And having laid many stripes upon them they cast [them] into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely; ²⁴ who, having received such a charge, cast them into the inner prison, and secured their feet to the stocks. ²⁵ And at midnight Paul and Silas, in praying, were praising God with singing, and the prisoners listened to them. ²⁶ And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison shook, and all the doors were immediately opened, and the bonds of all loosed. ²⁷ And the jailor being awakened out of his sleep, and seeing the doors of the prison opened, having drawn a sword was going to kill himself, thinking the prisoners had fled. ²⁸ But Paul called out with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm, for we are all here. ²⁹ And having asked for lights, he rushed in, and, trembling, fell down before Paul and Silas. ³⁰ And leading them out said, Sirs, what must I do that I may be saved? ³¹ And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus and thou shalt be saved, thou and thy house. ³² And they spoke to him the word of the Lord, with all that were in his house. ³³ And he took them the same hour of the night and washed [them] from their stripes; and was baptised, he and all his straightway. ³⁴ And having brought them into his house he laid the table [for them], and rejoiced with all his house, having believed in God. ³⁵ And when it was day, the praetors sent the lictors, saying, Let those men go. ³⁶ And the jailor reported these words to Paul: The praetors have sent that ye may be let go. Now therefore go out and depart in peace. ³⁷ But Paul said to them, Having beaten us publicly uncondemned, us who are Romans, they have cast us into prison, and now they thrust us out secretly? no, indeed, but let them come themselves and bring us out. ³⁸ And the lictors reported these words to the praetors. And they were afraid when they heard they were Romans. ³⁹ And they came and besought them, and having brought them out, asked them to go out of the city. ⁴⁰ And having gone out of the prison, they came to Lydia; and having seen the brethren, they exhorted them and went away.

²⁸ A false man soweth contention; and a talebearer separateth very friends.

⁵ Confide in Jehovah with all thy heart, and lean not unto thine own intelligence; ⁶ in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will make plain thy paths.

¹³ No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and will love the other, or he will cleave to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

⁵ Put to death therefore your members which [are] upon the earth, fornication, uncleanness, vile passions, evil lust, and unbridled desire, which is idolatry.

¹² teaching us that, having denied impiety and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, and justly, and piously in the present course of things,

²³ for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, fidelity, ²³ meekness, self-control: against such things there is no law.

²⁶ For where we sin wilfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains any sacrifice for sins,
