² For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.

⁶ For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.

⁴ Now the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, ⁵ Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee; I have appointed thee a prophet unto the nations.

¹⁴ For many are called, but few chosen.

⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, Did not I choose you the twelve, and one of you is a devil?

²⁰ And except the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he chose, he shortened the days. ²¹ And then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ; or, Lo, there; believe [it] not: ²² for there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, the elect. ²³ But take ye heed: behold, I have told you all things beforehand. ²⁴ But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, ²⁵ and the stars shall be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens shall be shaken. ²⁶ And then shall they see the Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory.

⁴⁸ And as the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

²⁸ And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, [even] to them that are called according to [his] purpose.

¹⁵ But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me, [even] from my mother’s womb, and called me through his grace,

¹² Put on therefore, as God’s elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;

⁸ And all that dwell on the earth shall worship him, [every one] whose name hath not been written in the book of life of the Lamb that hath been slain from the foundation of the world.

²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

⁴ even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in love:

²⁸ And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, [even] to them that are called according to [his] purpose. ²⁹ For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren: ³⁰ and whom he foreordained, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

⁹ But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for [God’s] own possession, that ye may shew forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

⁴ even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in love: ⁵ having foreordained us unto adoption as sons through Jesus Christ unto himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

¹⁶ Ye did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that ye should go and bear fruit, and [that] your fruit should abide: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
