⁴ Then the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying, ⁵ Before I formed thee in the wombe, I knewe thee, and before thou camest out of the wombe, I sanctified thee, and ordeined thee to be a Prophet vnto the nations. ⁶ Then said I, Oh, Lord God, behold, I can not speake, for I am a childe. ⁷ But the Lord said vnto me, Say not, I am a childe: for thou shalt goe to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoeuer I command thee, shalt thou speake. ⁸ Be not afraide of their faces: for I am with thee to deliuer thee, saith the Lord. ⁹ Then the Lord stretched out his hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said vnto me, Beholde, I haue put my wordes in thy mouth. ¹⁰ Beholde, this day haue I set thee ouer the nations and ouer the kingdomes to plucke vp, and to roote out, and to destroye and throwe downe, to builde, and to plant.

⁴² Iesus saide vnto them, Read ye neuer in the Scriptures, The stone which the builders refused, the same is made the head of the corner? This was the Lordes doing, and it is marueilous in our eyes.

¹ Then Ionah prayed vnto the Lord his God out of the fishes belly, ² And said, I cryed in mine affliction vnto the Lord, and he heard me: out of the bellie of hell cryed I, and thou heardest my voyce. ³ For thou haddest cast me into the bottome in the middes of the sea, and the floods compassed me about: all thy surges, and all thy waues passed ouer me. ⁴ Then I saide, I am cast away out of thy sight: yet will I looke againe towarde thine holy Temple. ⁵ The waters compassed me about vnto the soule: the depth closed me rounde about, and the weedes were wrapt about mine head. ⁶ I went downe to the bottome of the moutaines: the earth with her barres was about me for euer, yet hast thou brought vp my life from the pit, O Lord my God. ⁷ When my soule fainted within me, I remembred the Lord: and my prayer came vnto thee, into thine holy Temple. ⁸ They that waite vpon lying vanities, forsake their owne mercie. ⁹ But I will sacrifice vnto thee with the voice of thankesgiuing, and will pay that that I haue vowed: saluation is of the Lord. ¹⁰ And the Lord spake vnto the fish, and it cast out Ionah vpon the dry lande.

¹³ Therefore speake I to them in parables, because they seeing, doe not see: and hearing, they heare not, neither vnderstand. ¹⁴ So in them is fulfilled the prophecie of Esaias, which prophecie saieth, By hearing, ye shall heare, and shall not vnderstand, and seeing, ye shall see, and shall not perceiue. ¹⁵ For this peoples heart is waxed fat, and their eares are dull of hearing, and with their eyes they haue winked, lest they should see with their eyes, and heare with their eares, and should vnderstand with their hearts, and should returne, that I might heale them.

⁷ And hee saide vnto them, It is not for you to know the times, or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his owne power, ⁸ But yee shall receiue power of the holy Ghost, when he shall come on you: and ye shalbe witnesses vnto me both in Hierusalem and in all Iudea, and in Samaria, and vnto the vttermost part of the earth. ⁹ And when he had spoken these things, while they behelde, he was taken vp: for a cloude tooke him vp out of their sight. ¹⁰ And while they looked stedfastly towarde heauen, as hee went, beholde, two men stoode by them in white apparell, ¹¹ Which also sayde, Yee men of Galile, why stande yee gasing into heauen? This Iesus which is taken vp from you into heauen, shall so come, as yee haue seene him goe into heauen.

⁷ He will not be afraide of euill tidings: for his heart is fixed, and beleeueth in the Lord.

⁸ This people draweth neere vnto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with the lips, but their heart is farre off from me.

⁷ Because the wisedome of the flesh is enimitie against God: for it is not subiect to the Lawe of God, neither in deede can be.

⁹ Yea, my familiar friend, whom I trusted, which did eate of my bread, hath lifted vp the heele against me.

²⁰ Teaching them to obserue all things, whatsoeuer I haue commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, vntill the ende of the worlde, Amen.

³³ These thinges haue I spoken vnto you, that in me ye might haue peace: in the world ye shall haue affliction, but be of good comfort: I haue ouercome the world.

¹ But nowe thus sayeth the Lord, that created thee, O Iaakob: and hee that formed thee, O Israel, Feare not: for I haue redeemed thee: I haue called thee by thy name, thou art mine. ² When thou passest through the waters, I wil be with thee, and through the floods, that they doe not ouerflowe thee. When thou walkest through the very fire, thou shalt not be burnt, neither shall the flame kindle vpon thee. ³ For I am the Lord thy God, the holy one of Israel, thy Sauiour: I gaue Egypt for thy ransome, Ethiopia, and Seba for thee. ⁴ Because thou wast precious in my sight, and thou wast honourable, and I loued thee, therefore will I giue man for thee, and people for thy sake.
