¹ Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye God in his Sanctuarie: prayse ye him in the firmament of his power. ² Prayse ye him in his mightie Actes: prayse ye him according to his excellent greatnesse. ³ Prayse ye him in the sounde of the trumpet: prayse yee him vpon the viole and the harpe. ⁴ Prayse ye him with timbrell and flute: praise ye him with virginales and organs. ⁵ Prayse ye him with sounding cymbales: prayse ye him with high sounding cymbales. ⁶ Let euery thing that hath breath prayse the Lord. Prayse ye the Lord.

¹ In the beginning God created the heauen and the earth. ² And the earth was without forme and void, and darkenesse was vpon the deepe, and the Spirit of God mooued vpon the waters. ³ Then God said, Let there be light: And there was light. ⁴ And God saw the light that it was good, and God separated the light from the darkenes. ⁵ And God called the Light, Day, and the darkenes, he called Night. So the euening and the morning were the first day. ⁶ Againe God said, Let there be a firmament in the mids of the waters: and let it separate the waters from the waters. ⁷ Then God made the firmament, and separated the waters, which were vnder the firmament, from the waters which were aboue the firmament: and it was so. ⁸ And God called the firmament Heauen. So the Euening and the morning were the second day. ⁹ God said againe, Let the waters vnder the heauen be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appeare. and it was so. ¹⁰ And God called the dry land, Earth, and he called the gathering together of the waters, Seas: and God saw that it was good. ¹¹ Then God said, Let the earth bud forth the bud of the herbe, that seedeth seed, the fruitfull tree, which beareth fruite according to his kinde, which hath his seede in it selfe vpon the earth: and it was so. ¹² And the earth brought foorth the bud of the herbe, that seedeth seede according to his kind, also the tree that beareth fruit, which hath his seed in it selfe according to his kinde: and God saw that it was good. ¹³ So the euening and the morning were the third day. ¹⁴ And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heauen, to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signes, and for seasons, and for dayes and yeeres. ¹⁵ And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heauen to giue light vpon the earth: and it was so. ¹⁶ God then made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesse light to rule the night: he made also the starres. ¹⁷ And God set them in the firmament of the heauen, to shine vpon the earth, ¹⁸ And to rule in the day, and in the night, and to separate the light from the darkenesse: and God saw that it was good. ¹⁹ So the euening and the morning were the fourth day. ²⁰ Afterward God said, Let the waters bring foorth in abundance euery creeping thing that hath life: and let the foule flie vpon the earth in the open firmament of the heauen. ²¹ Then God created the great whales, and euery thing liuing and mouing, which the waters brought foorth in abundance according to their kinde, and euery fethered foule according to his kinde: and God sawe that it was good. ²² Then God blessed them, saying, Bring foorth fruite and multiplie, and fill the waters in the seas, and let the foule multiplie in the earth. ²³ So the euening and the morning were the fifte day. ²⁴ Moreouer God said, Let the earth bring foorth the liuing thing according to his kinde, cattel, and that which creepeth, and the beast of the earth, according to his kinde. and it was so. ²⁵ And God made the beast of the earth according to his kinde, and the cattell according to his kinde, and euery creeping thing of the earth according to his kind: and God saw that it was good. ²⁶ Furthermore God said, Let vs make man in our image according to our likenes, and let them rule ouer the fish of the sea, and ouer the foule of the heauen, and ouer the beastes, and ouer all the earth, and ouer euery thing that creepeth and moueth on the earth. ²⁷ Thus God created the man in his image: in the image of God created he him: he created them male and female. ²⁸ And God blessed them, and God said to them, Bring forth fruite and multiplie, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule ouer the fish of the sea, and ouer the foule of the heauen, and ouer euery beast that moueth vpon the earth. ²⁹ And God said, Beholde, I haue giuen vnto you euery herbe bearing seede, which is vpon al the earth, and euery tree, wherein is the fruite of a tree bearing seede: that shall be to you for meate. ³⁰ Likewise to euery beast of the earth, and to euery foule of the heauen, and to euery thing that moueth vpon the earth, which hath life in it selfe, euery greene herbe shall be for meate. and it was so. ³¹ And God sawe all that he had made, and loe, it was very good. So the euening and the morning were the sixt day.

⁸ Remember the Sabbath day, to keepe it holy. ⁹ Sixe dayes shalt thou labour, and doe all thy worke, ¹⁰ But the seuenth day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any worke, thou, nor thy sonne, nor thy daughter, thy man seruant, nor thy mayde, nor thy beast, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates. ¹¹ For in sixe dayes the Lord made the heauen and the earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seuenth day: therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

⁷ And the first day of the weeke, the disciples being come together to breake bread, Paul preached vnto them, ready to depart on the morrow, and continued the preaching vnto midnight.

¹ Nowe the first day of the weeke early in the morning, they came vnto the sepulchre, and brought the odours, which they had prepared, and certaine women with them. ² And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre, ³ And went in, but found not the body of the Lord Iesus. ⁴ And it came to passe, that as they were amased thereat, beholde, two men suddenly stood by them in shining vestures. ⁵ And as they were afraide, and bowed downe their faces to the earth, they sayd to them, Why seeke ye him that liueth, among the dead? ⁶ He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake vnto you, when he was yet in Galile, ⁷ Saying, that the sonne of man must be deliuered into the hands of sinfull men, and be crucified, and the third day rise againe. ⁸ And they remembred his wordes, ⁹ And returned from the sepulchre, and tolde all these things vnto the eleuen, and to all the remnant. ¹⁰ Now it was Mary Magdalene, and Ioanna, and Mary the mother of Iames, and other women with them, which tolde these things vnto the Apostles. ¹¹ But their wordes seemed vnto them, as a fained thing, neither beleeued they them. ¹² Then arose Peter, and ran vnto the sepulchre, and looked in, and saw the linnen clothes laide by themselues, and departed wondering in himselfe at that which was come to passe. ¹³ And beholde, two of them went that same day to a towne which was from Hierusalem about threescore furlongs, called Emmaus. ¹⁴ And they talked together of al these things that were done. ¹⁵ And it came to passe, as they communed together, and reasoned, that Iesus himselfe drewe neere, and went with them. ¹⁶ But their eyes were holden, that they could not know him. ¹⁷ And he sayd vnto them, What maner of communications are these that ye haue one to another as ye walke and are sad? ¹⁸ And the one (named Cleopas) answered, and sayd vnto him, Art thou onely a stranger in Hierusalem, and hast not knowen the things which are come to passe therein in these dayes? ¹⁹ And he said vnto them, What things? And they sayd vnto him, Of Iesus of Nazareth, which was a Prophet, mightie in deede and in word before God, and all people, ²⁰ And howe the hie Priests, and our rulers deliuered him to be condemned to death, and haue crucified him. ²¹ But we trusted that it had bene he that should haue deliuered Israel, and as touching all these things, to day is ye third day, that they were done. ²² Yea, and certaine women among vs made vs astonied, which came early vnto the sepulchre. ²³ And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seene a vision of Angels, which sayd, that he was aliue. ²⁴ Therefore certaine of them which were with vs, went to the sepulchre, and found it euen so as the women had sayd, but him they saw not. ²⁵ Then he sayd vnto them, O fooles and slowe of heart to beleeue all that the Prophets haue spoken! ²⁶ Ought not Christ to haue suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? ²⁷ And he began at Moses, and at all the Prophets, and interpreted vnto them in all the Scriptures the things which were written of him. ²⁸ And they drew neere vnto ye towne, which they went to, but he made as though hee would haue gone further. ²⁹ But they constrained him, saying, Abide with vs: for it is towards night, and the day is farre spent. So he went in to tarie with them. ³⁰ And it came to passe, as hee sate at table with them, he tooke the bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gaue it to them. ³¹ Then their eyes were opened, and they knewe him: and he was no more seene of them. ³² And they saide betweene themselues, Did not our heartes burne within vs, while he talked with vs by the way, and when he opened to vs the Scriptures? ³³ And they rose vp the same houre, and returned to Hierusalem, and found the Eleuen gathered together, and them that were with them, ³⁴ Which said, The Lord is risen in deede, and hath appeared to Simon. ³⁵ Then they tolde what things were done in the way, and howe he was knowen of them in breaking of bread. ³⁶ And as they spake these things, Iesus himselfe stoode in the middes of them, and saide vnto them, Peace be to you. ³⁷ But they were abashed and afraide, supposing that they had seene a spirit. ³⁸ Then he saide vnto them, Why are ye troubled? and wherefore doe doutes arise in your hearts? ³⁹ Beholde mine handes and my feete: for it is I my selfe: handle me, and see: for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me haue. ⁴⁰ And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and feete. ⁴¹ And while they yet beleeued not for ioy, and wondred, he saide vnto them, Haue ye here any meate? ⁴² And they gaue him a piece of a broyled fish, and of an honie combe, ⁴³ And hee tooke it, and did eate before them. ⁴⁴ And he saide vnto them, These are the wordes, which I spake vnto you while I was yet with you, that all must be fulfilled which are written of me in the Lawe of Moses, and in the Prophets, and in the Psalmes. ⁴⁵ Then opened he their vnderstanding, that they might vnderstand the Scriptures, ⁴⁶ And said vnto them, Thus is it written, and thus it behoued Christ to suffer, and to rise againe from the dead the third day, ⁴⁷ And that repentance, and remission of sinnes should be preached in his Name among all nations, beginning at Hierusalem. ⁴⁸ Nowe ye are witnesses of these things. ⁴⁹ And beholde, I doe sende the promise of my Father vpon you: but tary ye in the citie of Hierusalem, vntill ye be endued with power from an hie. ⁵⁰ Afterward he lead them out into Bethania, and lift vp his hands, and blessed them. ⁵¹ And it came to passe, that as he blessed them, he departed from them, and was caried vp into heauen. ⁵² And they worshipped him, and returned to Hierusalem with great ioy, ⁵³ And were continually in the Temple, praysing, and lauding God, Amen.

¹ Nowe the first day of the weeke came Marie Magdalene, early when it was yet darke, vnto the sepulchre, and sawe the stone taken away from the tombe. ² Then she ranne, and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Iesus loued, and saide vnto them, They haue taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we knowe not where they haue laid him. ³ Peter therefore went forth, and the other disciple, and they came vnto the sepulchre. ⁴ So they ranne both together, but the other disciple did outrunne Peter, and came first to the sepulchre. ⁵ And he stouped downe, and sawe the linnen clothes lying: yet went he not in. ⁶ Then came Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and sawe the linnen clothes lye, ⁷ And the kerchiefe that was vpon his head, not lying with the linnen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by it selfe. ⁸ Then went in also the other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he sawe it, and beleeued. ⁹ For as yet they knewe not the Scripture, That he must rise againe from the dead. ¹⁰ And the disciples went away againe vnto their owne home. ¹¹ But Marie stoode without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she bowed her selfe into the sepulchre, ¹² And sawe two Angels in white, sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feete, where the body of Iesus had laien. ¹³ And they said vnto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She said vnto them, They haue taken away my Lord, and I know not where they haue laide him. ¹⁴ When she had thus said, she turned her selfe backe, and sawe Iesus standing, and knewe not that it was Iesus. ¹⁵ Iesus saith vnto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She supposing that he had bene the gardener, said vnto him, Sir, if thou hast borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. ¹⁶ Iesus saith vnto her, Marie. She turned her selfe, and said vnto him, Rabboni, which is to say, Master. ¹⁷ Iesus saith vnto her, Touch me not: for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but goe to my brethren, and say vnto them, I ascend vnto my Father, and to your Father, and to my God, and your God. ¹⁸ Marie Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seene the Lord, and that he had spoken these things vnto her. ¹⁹ The same day then at night, which was the first day of the weeke, and when the doores were shut where the disciples were assembled for feare of the Iewes, came Iesus and stoode in the middes, and saide to them, Peace be vnto you. ²⁰ And when he had so saide, he shewed vnto them his handes, and his side. Then were the disciples glad when they had seene the Lord. ²¹ Then saide Iesus to them againe, Peace be vnto you: as my Father sent me, so sende I you. ²² And when he had saide that, he breathed on them, and saide vnto them, Receiue the holy Ghost. ²³ Whosoeuers sinnes ye remit, they are remitted vnto them: and whosoeuers sinnes ye reteine, they are reteined. ²⁴ But Thomas one of the twelue, called Didymus, was not with them when Iesus came. ²⁵ The other disciples therefore saide vnto him, We haue seene the Lord: but he said vnto them, Except I see in his handes the print of the nailes, and put my finger into the print of the nailes, and put mine hand into his side, I will not beleeue it. ²⁶ And eight dayes after, againe his disciples were within, and Thomas with them. Then came Iesus, when the doores were shut, and stood in the middes, and said, Peace be vnto you. ²⁷ After saide he to Thomas, Put thy finger here, and see mine hands, and put forth thine hand, and put it into my side, and be not faithlesse, but faithfull. ²⁸ Then Thomas answered, and said vnto him, Thou art my Lord, and my God. ²⁹ Iesus said vnto him, Thomas, because thou hast seene me, thou beleeuest: blessed are they that haue not seene, and haue beleeued. ³⁰ And many other signes also did Iesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this booke. ³¹ But these things are written, that ye might beleeue, that Iesus is that Christ that Sonne of God, and that in beleeuing ye might haue life through his Name.

¹⁶ And in the first day shalbe an holie assemblie: also in the seuenth day shalbe an holy assemblie vnto you: no worke shalbe done in them, saue about that which euery man must eate: that onely may ye do.

² Euery first day of the weeke, let euery one of you put aside by himselfe, and lay vp as God hath prospered him, that then there be no gatherings when I come.
