¹ In the beginning God created the heauen and the earth. ² And the earth was without forme and void, and darkenesse was vpon the deepe, and the Spirit of God mooued vpon the waters. ³ Then God said, Let there be light: And there was light. ⁴ And God saw the light that it was good, and God separated the light from the darkenes. ⁵ And God called the Light, Day, and the darkenes, he called Night. So the euening and the morning were the first day. ⁶ Againe God said, Let there be a firmament in the mids of the waters: and let it separate the waters from the waters. ⁷ Then God made the firmament, and separated the waters, which were vnder the firmament, from the waters which were aboue the firmament: and it was so. ⁸ And God called the firmament Heauen. So the Euening and the morning were the second day. ⁹ God said againe, Let the waters vnder the heauen be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appeare. and it was so. ¹⁰ And God called the dry land, Earth, and he called the gathering together of the waters, Seas: and God saw that it was good. ¹¹ Then God said, Let the earth bud forth the bud of the herbe, that seedeth seed, the fruitfull tree, which beareth fruite according to his kinde, which hath his seede in it selfe vpon the earth: and it was so. ¹² And the earth brought foorth the bud of the herbe, that seedeth seede according to his kind, also the tree that beareth fruit, which hath his seed in it selfe according to his kinde: and God saw that it was good. ¹³ So the euening and the morning were the third day. ¹⁴ And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heauen, to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signes, and for seasons, and for dayes and yeeres. ¹⁵ And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heauen to giue light vpon the earth: and it was so. ¹⁶ God then made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesse light to rule the night: he made also the starres. ¹⁷ And God set them in the firmament of the heauen, to shine vpon the earth, ¹⁸ And to rule in the day, and in the night, and to separate the light from the darkenesse: and God saw that it was good. ¹⁹ So the euening and the morning were the fourth day. ²⁰ Afterward God said, Let the waters bring foorth in abundance euery creeping thing that hath life: and let the foule flie vpon the earth in the open firmament of the heauen. ²¹ Then God created the great whales, and euery thing liuing and mouing, which the waters brought foorth in abundance according to their kinde, and euery fethered foule according to his kinde: and God sawe that it was good. ²² Then God blessed them, saying, Bring foorth fruite and multiplie, and fill the waters in the seas, and let the foule multiplie in the earth. ²³ So the euening and the morning were the fifte day. ²⁴ Moreouer God said, Let the earth bring foorth the liuing thing according to his kinde, cattel, and that which creepeth, and the beast of the earth, according to his kinde. and it was so. ²⁵ And God made the beast of the earth according to his kinde, and the cattell according to his kinde, and euery creeping thing of the earth according to his kind: and God saw that it was good. ²⁶ Furthermore God said, Let vs make man in our image according to our likenes, and let them rule ouer the fish of the sea, and ouer the foule of the heauen, and ouer the beastes, and ouer all the earth, and ouer euery thing that creepeth and moueth on the earth. ²⁷ Thus God created the man in his image: in the image of God created he him: he created them male and female. ²⁸ And God blessed them, and God said to them, Bring forth fruite and multiplie, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule ouer the fish of the sea, and ouer the foule of the heauen, and ouer euery beast that moueth vpon the earth. ²⁹ And God said, Beholde, I haue giuen vnto you euery herbe bearing seede, which is vpon al the earth, and euery tree, wherein is the fruite of a tree bearing seede: that shall be to you for meate. ³⁰ Likewise to euery beast of the earth, and to euery foule of the heauen, and to euery thing that moueth vpon the earth, which hath life in it selfe, euery greene herbe shall be for meate. and it was so. ³¹ And God sawe all that he had made, and loe, it was very good. So the euening and the morning were the sixt day.

⁶ Better is the poore that walketh in his vprightnesse, then hee that peruerteth his wayes, though he be riche.

¹ The same time the disciples came vnto Iesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdome of heauen? ² And Iesus called a litle childe vnto him, and set him in the mids of them, ³ And sayd, Verely I say vnto you, except ye be conuerted, and become as litle children, ye shall not enter into the kingdome of heauen. ⁴ Whosoeuer therefore shall humble himselfe as this litle childe, the same is the greatest in the kingdome of heauen. ⁵ And whosoeuer shall receiue one such litle childe in my name, receiueth me. ⁶ But whosoeuer shall offend one of these litle ones which beleeue in me, it were better for him, that a milstone were hanged about his necke, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. ⁷ Wo be vnto the world because of offences: for it must needes be that offences shall come, but wo be to that man by whome the offence commeth. ⁸ Wherefore, if thy hand or thy foote cause thee to offend, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life, halt, or maimed, then hauing two hands, or two feete, to be cast into euerlasting fire. ⁹ And if thine eye cause thee to offende, plucke it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, then hauing two eyes to be cast into hell fire. ¹⁰ See that ye despise not one of these litle ones: for I say vnto you, that in heauen their Angels alwayes behold the face of my Father which is in heauen. ¹¹ For the Sonne of man is come to saue that which was lost. ¹² How thinke ye? If a man haue an hundreth sheepe, and one of them be gone astray, doeth he not leaue ninetie and nine, and go into the mountaines, and seeke that which is gone astray? ¹³ And if so be that he finde it, verely I say vnto you, he reioyceth more of that sheepe, then of the ninetie and nine which went not astray: ¹⁴ So is it not ye wil of your Father which is in heauen, that one of these litle ones should perish. ¹⁵ Moreouer, if thy brother trespasse against thee, goe and tell him his fault betweene thee and him alone: if he heare thee, thou hast wonne thy brother. ¹⁶ But if he heare thee not, take yet with thee one or two, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses euery worde may be confirmed. ¹⁷ And if he refuse to heare them, tell it vnto the Church: and if he refuse to heare the Church also, let him be vnto thee as an heathen man, and a Publicane. ¹⁸ Verely I say vnto you, Whatsoeuer ye bind on earth, shall be bound in heauen: and whatsoeuer ye loose on earth, shalbe loosed in heauen. ¹⁹ Againe, verely I say vnto you, that if two of you shall agree in earth vpon any thing, whatsoeuer they shall desire, it shall be giuen them of my Father which is in heauen. ²⁰ For where two or three are gathered together in my Name, there am I in the mids of them. ²¹ Then came Peter to him, and said, Master, howe oft shall my brother sinne against me, and I shall forgiue him? vnto seuen times? ²² Iesus said vnto him, I say not to thee, Vnto seuen times, but, Vnto seuentie times seuen times. ²³ Therefore is the kingdome of heauen likened vnto a certaine King, which would take an account of his seruants. ²⁴ And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought vnto him, which ought him ten thousand talents. ²⁵ And because he had nothing to pay, his Lord commanded him to be solde, and his wife, and his children, and all that he had, and the dette to be payed. ²⁶ The seruant therefore fell downe, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, refraine thine anger toward me, and I will pay thee all. ²⁷ Then that seruants Lord had compassion, and loosed him, and forgaue him the dette. ²⁸ But when the seruant was departed, hee found one of his felow seruants, which ought him an hundred pence, and he layde hands on him, and thratled him, saying, Pay me that thou owest. ²⁹ Then his fellow seruant fell downe at his feete, and besought him, saying, Refraine thine anger towards me, and I will pay thee all. ³⁰ Yet he would not, but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the dette. ³¹ And when his other felowe seruants sawe what was done, they were very sory, and came, and declared vnto their Lord all that was done. ³² Then his Lord called him vnto him, and sayd to him, O euil seruant, I forgaue thee all that dette, because thou prayedst me. ³³ Oughtest not thou also to haue had pitie on thy fellowe seruant, euen as I had pitie on thee? ³⁴ So his Lord was wroth, and deliuered him to the tormentours, till he should pay all that was due to him. ³⁵ So likewise shall mine heauenly Father doe vnto you, except ye forgiue from your hearts, eche one to his brother their trespasses.

¹⁰ For with the heart man beleeueth vnto righteousnes, and with the mouth man confesseth to saluation.

¹⁵ Take heede therefore that yee walke circumspectly, not as fooles, but as wise, ¹⁶ Redeeming ye season: for ye daies are euill.

⁷ He preserueth the state of the righteous: he is a shielde to them that walke vprightly,

¹ Be yee followers of mee, euen as I am of Christ. ² Now brethren, I commend you, that ye remember all my things, and keepe the ordinances, as I deliuered them to you. ³ But I wil that ye know, that Christ is the head of euery man: and the man is the womans head: and God is Christs head. ⁴ Euery man praying or prophecying hauing any thing on his head, dishonoureth his head. ⁵ But euery woman that prayeth or prophecieth bare headed, dishonoureth her head: for it is euen one very thing, as though she were shauen. ⁶ Therefore if the woman be not couered, let her also be shorne: and if it be shame for a woman to be shorne or shauen, let her be couered. ⁷ For a man ought not to couer his head: for as much as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. ⁸ For the man is not of the woman, but the woman of the man. ⁹ For the man was not created for the womans sake: but the woman for the mans sake. ¹⁰ Therefore ought the woman to haue power on her head, because of the Angels. ¹¹ Neuertheles, neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man in the Lord. ¹² For as the woman is of the man, so is the man also by the woman: but all things are of God. ¹³ Iudge in your selues, Is it comely that a woman pray vnto God vncouered? ¹⁴ Doeth not nature it selfe teach you, that if a man haue long heare, it is a shame vnto him? ¹⁵ But if a woman haue long heare, it is a prayse vnto her: for her heare is giuen her for a couering. ¹⁶ But if any man lust to be contentious, we haue no such custome, neither the Churches of God. ¹⁷ Nowe in this that I declare, I prayse you not, that ye come together, not with profite, but with hurt. ¹⁸ For first of all, when ye come together in the Church, I heare that there are dissentions among you: and I beleeue it to be true in some part. ¹⁹ For there must be heresies euen among you, that they which are approoued among you, might be knowen. ²⁰ When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eate the Lords Supper. ²¹ For euery man when they should eate, taketh his owne supper afore, and one is hungry, and another is drunken. ²² Haue ye not houses to eate and to drinke in? despise ye the Church of God, and shame them that haue not? what shall I say to you? shall I prayse you in this? I prayse you not. ²³ For I haue receiued of the Lord that which I also haue deliuered vnto you, to wit, That the Lord Iesus in the night when he was betrayed, tooke bread: ²⁴ And when hee had giuen thankes, hee brake it, and sayde, Take, eate: this is my body, which is broken for you: this doe ye in remembrance of me. ²⁵ After the same maner also he tooke the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the Newe Testament in my blood: this doe as oft as ye drinke it, in remembrance of me. ²⁶ For as often as ye shall eate this bread, and drinke this cup, ye shewe the Lords death till hee come. ²⁷ Wherefore, whosoeuer shall eate this bread, and drinke the cup of the Lord vnworthily, shall be guiltie of the body and blood of the Lord. ²⁸ Let euery man therefore examine himselfe, and so let him eate of this bread, and drinke of this cup. ²⁹ For he that eateth and drinketh vnworthily, eateth and drinketh his owne damnation, because he discerneth not the Lords body. ³⁰ For this cause many are weake, and sicke among you, and many sleepe. ³¹ For if we would iudge our selues, we should not be iudged. ³² But when we are iudged, we are chastened of the Lord, because we should not be condemned with the world. ³³ Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eate, tary one for another. ³⁴ And if any man be hungry, let him eate at home, that ye come not together vnto condemnation. Other things will I set in order when I come.

¹ Followe after loue, and couet spirituall giftes, and rather that ye may prophecie. ² For hee that speaketh a strange tongue, speaketh not vnto men, but vnto God: for no man heareth him: howbeit in the spirit he speaketh secret things. ³ But he that prophecieth, speaketh vnto me to edifying, and to exhortation, and to comfort. ⁴ He that speaketh strange language, edifieth himselfe: but hee that prophecieth, edifieth the Church. ⁵ I would that ye all spake strange languages, but rather that ye prophecied: for greater is hee that prophecieth, then hee that speaketh diuers tongues, except hee expound it, that the Church may receiue edification. ⁶ And nowe, brethren, if I come vnto you speaking diuers tongues, what shall I profite you, except I speake to you, either by reuelation, or by knowledge, or by prophecying, or by doctrine? ⁷ Moreouer things without life which giue a sounde, whether it be a pipe or an harpe, except they make a distinction in the soundes, how shall it be knowen what is piped or harped? ⁸ And also if the trumpet giue an vncertaine sound, who shall prepare himselfe to battell? ⁹ So likewise you, by the tongue, except yee vtter wordes that haue signification, howe shall it be vnderstand what is spoken? for ye shall speake in the ayre. ¹⁰ There are so many kindes of voyces (as it commeth to passe) in the world, and none of them is dumme. ¹¹ Except I know then the power of ye voyce, I shall be vnto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh, shalbe a barbarian vnto me. ¹² Euen so, forasmuch as ye couet spirituall giftes, seeke that ye may excell vnto the edifying of the Church. ¹³ Wherefore, let him that speaketh a strange tongue, pray, that he may interprete. ¹⁴ For if I pray in a strange togue, my spirit prayeth: but mine vnderstading is without fruite. ¹⁵ What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, but I wil pray with the vnderstanding also: I wil sing with the spirite, but I will sing with the vnderstanding also. ¹⁶ Else, when thou blessest with the spirit, howe shall hee that occupieth the roome of the vnlearned, say Amen, at thy giuing of thankes, seeing he knoweth not what thou sayest? ¹⁷ For thou verely giuest thankes well, but the other is not edified. ¹⁸ I thanke my God, I speake languages more then ye all. ¹⁹ Yet had I rather in the Church to speake fiue wordes with mine vnderstanding, that I might also instruct others, then ten thousande wordes in a strange tongue. ²⁰ Brethren, be not children in vnderstanding, but as concerning maliciousnes be children, but in vnderstanding be of a ripe age. ²¹ In the Lawe it is written, By men of other tongues, and by other languages will I speake vnto this people: yet so shall they not heare me, sayth the Lord. ²² Wherefore strange tongues are for a signe, not to them that beleeue, but to them that beleeue not: but prophecying serueth not for them that beleeue not, but for them which beleeue. ²³ If therefore when the whole Church is come together in one, and all speake strange tongues, there come in they that are vnlearned, or they which beleeue not, will they not say, that ye are out of your wittes? ²⁴ But if all prophecie, and there come in one that beleeueth not, or one vnlearned, hee is rebuked of all men, and is iudged of all, ²⁵ And so are the secrets of his heart made manifest, and so he will fall downe on his face and worship God, and say plainely that God is in you in deede. ²⁶ What is to be done then, brethren? when ye come together, according as euery one of you hath a Psalme, or hath doctrine, or hath a tongue, or hath reuelation, or hath interpretation, let all things be done vnto edifying. ²⁷ If any man speake a strange tongue, let it be by two, or at the most, by three, and that by course, and let one interprete. ²⁸ But if there be no interpreter, let him keepe silence in the Church, which speaketh languages, and let him speake to himselfe, and to God. ²⁹ Let the Prophets speake two, or three, and let the other iudge. ³⁰ And if any thing be reueiled to another that sitteth by, let the first holde his peace. ³¹ For ye may all prophecie one by one, that all may learne, and all may haue comfort. ³² And the spirits of the Prophets are subiect to the Prophets. ³³ For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as we see in all ye Churches of the Saints. ³⁴ Let your women keepe silence in the Churches: for it is not permitted vnto them to speake: but they ought to be subiect, as also the Lawe sayth. ³⁵ And if they will learne any thing, let them aske their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speake in the Church. ³⁶ Came the worde of God out from you? either came it vnto you onely? ³⁷ If any man thinke him selfe to be a Prophet, or spirituall, let him acknowledge, that the things, that I write vnto you, are the commandements of the Lord. ³⁸ And if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. ³⁹ Wherefore, brethren, couet to prophecie, and forbid not to speake languages. ⁴⁰ Let all things be done honestly, and by order.

⁷ But if we walke in the light as he is in the light, we haue fellowship one with another, and the blood of Iesus Christ his Sonne clenseth vs from all sinne.

¹ There was a man in the lande of Vz called Iob, and this man was an vpright and iust man, one that feared God, and eschewed euill. ² And he had seue sonnes, and three daughters. ³ His substance also was seuen thousande sheepe, and three thousand camels, and fiue hundreth yoke of oxen, and fiue hundreth shee asses, and his family was very great, so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the East. ⁴ And his sonnes went and banketted in their houses, euery one his day, and sent, and called their three sisters to eate and to drinke with them. ⁵ And when the dayes of their banketting were gone about, Iob sent, and sanctified them, and rose vp early in the morning, and offred burnt offrings according to the nomber of them all. For Iob thought, It may be that my sonnes haue sinned, and blasphemed God in their hearts: thus did Iob euery day. ⁶ Nowe on a day when the children of God came and stoode before the Lord, Satan came also among them. ⁷ Then the Lord sayde vnto Satan, Whence commest thou? And Satan answered the Lord, saying, From compassing the earth to and from, and from walking in it. ⁸ And the Lord saide vnto Satan, Hast thou not considered my seruant Iob, how none is like him in the earth? an vpright and iust man, one that feareth God, and escheweth euill? ⁹ Then Satan answered the Lord, and sayde, Doeth Iob feare God for nought? ¹⁰ Hast thou not made an hedge about him and about his house, and about all that he hath on euery side? thou hast blessed the worke of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. ¹¹ But stretch out now thine hand and touch all that he hath, to see if he will not blaspheme thee to thy face. ¹² Then the Lord sayde vnto Satan, Lo, all that he hath is in thine hand: onely vpon himselfe shalt thou not stretch out thine hand. So Satan departed from the presence of the Lord. ¹³ And on a day, when his sonnes and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brothers house, ¹⁴ There came a messenger vnto Iob, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding in their places, ¹⁵ And the Shabeans came violently, and tooke them: yea, they haue slayne the seruants with the edge of the sworde: but I onely am escaped alone to tell thee. ¹⁶ And whiles he was yet speaking, another came, and sayde, The fire of God is fallen from the heauen, and hath burnt vp the sheepe and the seruants, and deuoured them: but I onely am escaped alone to tell thee. ¹⁷ And whiles he was yet speaking, another came, and sayd, The Caldeans set on three bands, and fell vpon the camels, and haue taken them, and haue slayne the seruantes with the edge of the sworde: but I onely am escaped alone to tell thee. ¹⁸ And whiles he was yet speaking, came an other, and sayd, Thy sonnes, and thy daughters were eating, and drinking wine in their eldest brothers house, ¹⁹ And behold, there came a great wind from beyonde the wildernesse, and smote the foure corners of the house, which fel vpon the children, and they are dead, and I onely am escaped alone to tell thee. ²⁰ Then Iob arose, and rent his garment, and shaued his head, and fel downe vpon the ground, and worshipped, ²¹ And sayd, Naked came I out of my mothers wombe, and naked shall I returne thither: the Lord hath giuen, and the Lord hath taken it: blessed be the Name of the Lord. ²² In all this did not Iob sinne, nor charge God foolishly.

¹ ALEPH. Blessed are those that are vpright in their way, and walke in the Lawe of the Lord. ² Blessed are they that keepe his testimonies, and seeke him with their whole heart. ³ Surely they woorke none iniquitie, but walke in his waies. ⁴ Thou hast commanded to keepe thy precepts diligently. ⁵ Oh that my waies were directed to keepe thy statutes! ⁶ Then should I not be confounded, when I haue respect vnto all thy commandements. ⁷ I will praise thee with an vpright heart, when I shall learne the iudgements of thy righteousnesse. ⁸ I will keepe thy statutes: forsake mee not ouerlong. ⁹ BETH. Wherewith shall a yong man redresse his waie? in taking heede thereto according to thy woorde. ¹⁰ With my whole heart haue I sought thee: let me not wander from thy commandements. ¹¹ I haue hid thy promise in mine heart, that I might not sinne against thee. ¹² Blessed art thou, O Lord: teache mee thy statutes. ¹³ With my lippes haue I declared all the iudgements of thy mouth. ¹⁴ I haue had as great delight in the way of thy testimonies, as in all riches. ¹⁵ I will meditate in thy precepts, and consider thy waies. ¹⁶ I will delite in thy statutes, and I will not forget thy worde. ¹⁷ GIMEL. Be beneficiall vnto thy seruant, that I may liue and keepe thy woorde. ¹⁸ Open mine eies, that I may see the wonders of thy Lawe. ¹⁹ I am a stranger vpon earth: hide not thy commandements from me. ²⁰ Mine heart breaketh for the desire to thy iudgements alway. ²¹ Thou hast destroied the proud: cursed are they that doe erre from thy commandements. ²² Remoue from mee shame and contempt: for I haue kept thy testimonies. ²³ Princes also did sit, and speake against me: but thy seruant did meditate in thy statutes. ²⁴ Also thy testimonies are my delite, and my counsellers. ²⁵ DALETH. My soule cleaueth to the dust: quicken me according to thy worde. ²⁶ I haue declared my waies, and thou heardest me: teache me thy statutes. ²⁷ Make me to vnderstand ye way of thy precepts, and I will meditate in thy wondrous workes. ²⁸ My soule melteth for heauinesse: raise mee vp according vnto thy worde. ²⁹ Take from mee the way of lying, and graunt me graciously thy Lawe. ³⁰ I haue chosen the way of trueth, and thy iudgements haue I laied before me. ³¹ I haue cleaued to thy testimonies, O Lord: confound me not. ³² I will runne the way of thy commandements, when thou shalt enlarge mine heart. ³³ HE. Teach mee, O Lord, the way of thy statutes, and I will keepe it vnto the ende. ³⁴ Giue mee vnderstanding, and I will keepe thy Law: yea, I wil keepe it with my whole heart. ³⁵ Direct mee in the path of thy commandements: for therein is my delite. ³⁶ Incline mine heart vnto thy testimonies, and not to couetousnesse. ³⁷ Turne away mine eies from regarding vanitie, and quicken me in thy way. ³⁸ Stablish thy promise to thy seruaunt, because he feareth thee. ³⁹ Take away my rebuke that I feare: for thy iudgements are good. ⁴⁰ Beholde, I desire thy commandements: quicken me in thy righteousnesse, ⁴¹ VAV. And let thy louing kindnesse come vnto me, O Lord, and thy saluation according to thy promise. ⁴² So shall I make answere vnto my blasphemers: for I trust in thy woorde. ⁴³ And take not the woorde of trueth vtterly out of my mouth: for I waite for thy iudgements. ⁴⁴ So shall I alway keepe thy Lawe for euer and euer. ⁴⁵ And I will walke at libertie: for I seeke thy precepts. ⁴⁶ I will speake also of thy testimonies before Kings, and will not be ashamed. ⁴⁷ And my delite shalbe in thy commandements, which I haue loued. ⁴⁸ Mine handes also will I lift vp vnto thy commandements, which I haue loued, and I will meditate in thy statutes. ⁴⁹ ZAIN. Remember the promise made to thy seruant, wherein thou hast caused me to trust. ⁵⁰ It is my comfort in my trouble: for thy promise hath quickened me. ⁵¹ The proude haue had me exceedingly in derision: yet haue I not declined from thy Lawe. ⁵² I remembred thy iudgements of olde, O Lord, and haue bene comforted. ⁵³ Feare is come vpon mee for the wicked, that forsake thy Lawe. ⁵⁴ Thy statutes haue beene my songes in the house of my pilgrimage. ⁵⁵ I haue remembred thy Name, O Lord, in the night, and haue kept thy Lawe. ⁵⁶ This I had because I kept thy precepts. ⁵⁷ CHETH. O Lord, that art my portion, I haue determined to keepe thy wordes. ⁵⁸ I made my supplication in thy presence with my whole heart: be mercifull vnto me according to thy promise. ⁵⁹ I haue considered my waies, and turned my feete into thy testimonies. ⁶⁰ I made haste and delaied not to keepe thy commandements. ⁶¹ The bandes of the wicked haue robbed me: but I haue not forgotten thy Lawe. ⁶² At midnight will I rise to giue thanks vnto thee, because of thy righteous iudgements. ⁶³ I am companion of all them that feare thee, and keepe thy precepts. ⁶⁴ The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercie: teache me thy statutes. ⁶⁵ TETH. O Lord, thou hast delt graciously with thy seruant according vnto thy woorde. ⁶⁶ Teach me good iudgement and knowledge: for I haue beleeued thy commandements. ⁶⁷ Before I was afflicted, I went astray: but nowe I keepe thy woorde. ⁶⁸ Thou art good and gracious: teach me thy statutes. ⁶⁹ The proud haue imagined a lie against me: but I wil keepe thy precepts with my whole heart. ⁷⁰ Their heart is fatte as grease: but my delite is in thy Lawe. ⁷¹ It is good for me that I haue beene afflicted, that I may learne thy statutes. ⁷² The Lawe of thy mouth is better vnto me, then thousands of golde and siluer. ⁷³ IOD. Thine hands haue made me and fashioned me: giue mee vnderstanding therefore, that I may learne thy commandements. ⁷⁴ So they that feare thee, seeing mee shall reioyce, because I haue trusted in thy worde. ⁷⁵ I knowe, O Lord, that thy iudgements are right, and that thou hast afflicted me iustly. ⁷⁶ I pray thee that thy mercie may comfort me according to thy promise vnto thy seruant. ⁷⁷ Let thy tender mercies come vnto me, that I may liue: for thy Lawe is my delite. ⁷⁸ Let the proude be ashamed: for they haue dealt wickedly and falsely with me: but I meditate in thy precepts. ⁷⁹ Let such as feare thee turne vnto me, and they that knowe thy testimonies. ⁸⁰ Let mine heart bee vpright in thy statutes, that I be not ashamed. ⁸¹ CAPH. My soule fainteth for thy saluation: yet I waite for thy worde. ⁸² Mine eyes faile for thy promise, saying, when wilt thou comfort me? ⁸³ For I am like a bottell in the smoke: yet doe I not forget thy statutes. ⁸⁴ Howe many are the dayes of thy seruant? When wilt thou execute iudgement on them that persecute me? ⁸⁵ The proude haue digged pittes for mee, which is not after thy Lawe. ⁸⁶ All thy commandements are true: they persecute me falsely: helpe me. ⁸⁷ They had almost consumed me vpon the earth: but I forsooke not thy precepts. ⁸⁸ Quicken me according to thy louing kindnes: so shall I keepe the testimony of thy mouth. ⁸⁹ LAMED. O Lord, thy worde endureth for euer in heauen. ⁹⁰ Thy trueth is from generation to generation: thou hast layed the foundation of the earth, and it abideth. ⁹¹ They continue euen to this day by thine ordinances: for all are thy seruants. ⁹² Except thy Lawe had bene my delite, I should now haue perished in mine affliction. ⁹³ I wil neuer forget thy precepts: for by them thou hast quickened me. ⁹⁴ I am thine, saue me: for I haue sought thy precepts. ⁹⁵ The wicked haue waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider thy testimonies. ⁹⁶ I haue seene an ende of all perfection: but thy commandement is exceeding large. ⁹⁷ MEM. Oh howe loue I thy Lawe! it is my meditation continually. ⁹⁸ By thy commandements thou hast made mee wiser then mine enemies: for they are euer with mee. ⁹⁹ I haue had more vnderstading then all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. ¹⁰⁰ I vnderstoode more then the ancient, because I kept thy precepts. ¹⁰¹ I haue refrained my feete from euery euil way, that I might keepe thy word. ¹⁰² I haue not declined from thy iudgements: for thou didest teach me. ¹⁰³ Howe sweete are thy promises vnto my mouth! yea, more then hony vnto my mouth. ¹⁰⁴ By thy precepts I haue gotten vnderstanding: therefore I hate all the wayes of falshoode. ¹⁰⁵ NUN. Thy worde is a lanterne vnto my feete, and a light vnto my path. ¹⁰⁶ I haue sworne and will performe it, that I will keepe thy righteous iudgements. ¹⁰⁷ I am very sore afflicted: O Lord, quicken me according to thy word. ¹⁰⁸ O Lord, I beseeche thee accept the free offerings of my mouth, and teach mee thy iudgements. ¹⁰⁹ My soule is continually in mine hande: yet doe I not forget thy Lawe. ¹¹⁰ The wicked haue layed a snare for mee: but I swarued not from thy precepts. ¹¹¹ Thy testimonies haue I taken as an heritage for euer: for they are the ioy of mine heart. ¹¹² I haue applied mine heart to fulfill thy statutes alway, euen vnto the ende. ¹¹³ SAMECH. I hate vaine inuentions: but thy Lawe doe I loue. ¹¹⁴ Thou art my refuge and shield, and I trust in thy worde. ¹¹⁵ Away from mee, yee wicked: for I will keepe the commandements of my God. ¹¹⁶ Stablish me according to thy promise, that I may liue, and disappoint me not of mine hope. ¹¹⁷ Stay thou mee, and I shall be safe, and I will delite continually in thy statutes. ¹¹⁸ Thou hast troden downe all them that depart from thy statutes: for their deceit is vaine. ¹¹⁹ Thou hast taken away all ye wicked of the earth like drosse: therefore I loue thy testimonies. ¹²⁰ My flesh trembleth for feare of thee, and I am afraide of thy iudgements. ¹²¹ AIN. I haue executed iudgement and iustice: leaue me not to mine oppressours. ¹²² Answere for thy seruant in that, which is good, and let not the proude oppresse me. ¹²³ Mine eyes haue failed in waiting for thy saluation, and for thy iust promise. ¹²⁴ Deale with thy seruant according to thy mercie, and teache me thy statutes. ¹²⁵ I am thy seruant: graunt mee therefore vnderstanding, that I may knowe thy testimonies. ¹²⁶ It is time for thee Lord to worke: for they haue destroyed thy Lawe. ¹²⁷ Therefore loue I thy commandements aboue golde, yea, aboue most fine golde. ¹²⁸ Therefore I esteeme all thy precepts most iust, and hate all false wayes. ¹²⁹ PE. Thy testimonies are wonderfull: therefore doeth my soule keepe them. ¹³⁰ The entrance into thy wordes sheweth light, and giueth vnderstanding to the simple. ¹³¹ I opened my mouth and panted, because I loued thy commandements. ¹³² Looke vpon mee and bee mercifull vnto me, as thou vsest to doe vnto those that loue thy Name. ¹³³ Direct my steppes in thy worde, and let none iniquitie haue dominion ouer me. ¹³⁴ Deliuer mee from the oppression of men, and I will keepe thy precepts. ¹³⁵ Shew the light of thy countenance vpon thy seruant, and teache me thy statutes. ¹³⁶ Mine eyes gush out with riuers of water, because they keepe not thy Lawe. ¹³⁷ TSADDI. Righteous art thou, O Lord, and iust are thy iudgements. ¹³⁸ Thou hast commanded iustice by thy testimonies and trueth especially. ¹³⁹ My zeale hath euen consumed mee, because mine enemies haue forgotten thy wordes. ¹⁴⁰ Thy word is prooued most pure, and thy seruant loueth it. ¹⁴¹ I am small and despised: yet do I not forget thy precepts. ¹⁴² Thy righteousnesse is an euerlasting righteousnes, and thy Lawe is trueth. ¹⁴³ Trouble and anguish are come vpon me: yet are thy commandements my delite. ¹⁴⁴ The righteousnes of thy testimonies is euerlasting: graunt me vnderstanding, and I shall liue. ¹⁴⁵ KOPH. I haue cried with my whole heart: heare me, O Lord, and I will keepe thy statutes. ¹⁴⁶ I called vpon thee: saue mee, and I will keepe thy testimonies. ¹⁴⁷ I preuented the morning light, and cried: for I waited on thy word. ¹⁴⁸ Mine eyes preuent the night watches to meditate in thy word. ¹⁴⁹ Heare my voyce according to thy louing kindenesse: O Lord, quicken me according to thy iudgement. ¹⁵⁰ They drawe neere, that follow after malice, and are farre from thy Lawe. ¹⁵¹ Thou art neere, O Lord: for all thy commandements are true. ¹⁵² I haue knowen long since by thy testimonies, that thou hast established them for euer. ¹⁵³ RESH. Beholde mine affliction, and deliuer mee: for I haue not forgotten thy Lawe. ¹⁵⁴ Pleade my cause, and deliuer me: quicken me according vnto thy word. ¹⁵⁵ Saluation is farre from the wicked, because they seeke not thy statutes. ¹⁵⁶ Great are thy tender mercies, O Lord: quicken me according to thy iudgements. ¹⁵⁷ My persecutours and mine oppressours are many: yet doe I not swarue from thy testimonies. ¹⁵⁸ I saw the transgressours and was grieued, because they kept not thy worde. ¹⁵⁹ Consider, O Lord, how I loue thy preceptes: quicken mee according to thy louing kindenesse. ¹⁶⁰ The beginning of thy worde is trueth, and all the iudgements of thy righteousnesse endure for euer. ¹⁶¹ SCHIN. Princes haue persecuted mee without cause, but mine heart stood in awe of thy wordes. ¹⁶² I reioyce at thy worde, as one that findeth a great spoyle. ¹⁶³ I hate falshoode and abhorre it, but thy Lawe doe I loue. ¹⁶⁴ Seuen times a day doe I praise thee, because of thy righteous iudgements. ¹⁶⁵ They that loue thy Law, shall haue great prosperitie, and they shall haue none hurt. ¹⁶⁶ Lord, I haue trusted in thy saluation, and haue done thy commandements. ¹⁶⁷ My soule hath kept thy testimonies: for I loue them exceedingly. ¹⁶⁸ I haue kept thy precepts and thy testimonies: for all my wayes are before thee. ¹⁶⁹ TAV. Let my complaint come before thee, O Lord, and giue me vnderstanding, according vnto thy worde. ¹⁷⁰ Let my supplication come before thee, and deliuer me according to thy promise. ¹⁷¹ My lippes shall speake praise, when thou hast taught me thy statutes. ¹⁷² My tongue shall intreate of thy word: for all thy commandements are righteous. ¹⁷³ Let thine hand helpe me: for I haue chosen thy precepts. ¹⁷⁴ I haue longed for thy saluation, O Lord, and thy Lawe is my delite. ¹⁷⁵ Let my soule liue, and it shall praise thee, and thy iudgements shall helpe me. ¹⁷⁶ I haue gone astraye like a lost sheepe: seeke thy seruant, for I doe not forget thy commandements.

⁶ And Salomon sayd, Thou hast shewed vnto thy seruant Dauid my father great mercie, when hee walked before thee in trueth, and in righteousnesse, and in vprightnes of heart with thee: and thou hast kept for him this great mercie, and hast giuen him a sonne, to sit on his throne, as appeareth this day.

³ My words are in the vprightnesse of mine heart, and my lippes shall speake pure knowledge.

¹⁵ Hee that walketh in iustice, and speaketh righteous things, refusing gaine of oppression, shaking his handes from taking of gifts, stopping his eares from hearing of blood, and shutting his eyes from seeing euill.

¹⁵ Studie to shewe thy selfe approued vnto God, a workeman that needeth not to be ashamed, diuiding the worde of trueth aright.

² Peace shall come: they shall rest in their beds, euery one that walketh before him.

¹ This knowe also, that in the last dayes shall come perilous times. ² For men shalbe louers of their owne selues, couetous, boasters, proud, cursed speakers, disobedient to parents, vnthankefull, vnholy, ³ Without naturall affection, truce breakers, false accusers, intemperate, fierce, no louers at all of them which are good, ⁴ Traitours, headie, high minded, louers of pleasures more then louers of God, ⁵ Hauing a shewe of godlinesse, but haue denied the power thereof: turne away therefore from such. ⁶ For of this sort are they which creepe into houses, and leade captiue simple women laden with sinnes, and led with diuers lustes, ⁷ Which women are euer learning, and are neuer able to come to the acknowledging of the trueth. ⁸ And as Iannes and Iambres withstoode Moses, so doe these also resist the trueth, men of corrupt mindes, reprobate concerning the faith. ⁹ But they shall preuaile no longer: for their madnesse shalbe euident vnto all men, as theirs also was. ¹⁰ But thou hast fully knowen my doctrine, maner of liuing, purpose, faith, long suffering, loue, patience, ¹¹ Persecutions, and afflictions which came vnto me at Antiochia, at Iconium, and at Lystri, which persecutions I suffered: but from them all the Lord deliuered me. ¹² Yea, and all that will liue godly in Christ Iesus, shall suffer persecution. ¹³ But the euill men and deceiuers, shall waxe worse and worse, deceiuing, and being deceiued. ¹⁴ But continue thou in the thinges which thou hast learned, and which are committed vnto thee, knowing of who thou hast learned them: ¹⁵ And that thou hast knowen the holy Scriptures of a childe, which are able to make thee wise vnto saluation, through the faith which is in Christ Iesus. ¹⁶ For the whole Scripture is giuen by inspiration of God, and is profitable to teache, to conuince, to correct, and to instruct in righteousnesse, ¹⁷ That the man of God may be absolute, being made perfect vnto all good workes.

² He that walketh vprightly and worketh righteousnes, and speaketh the trueth in his heart.

¹¹ For the Lord God is the sunne and shielde vnto vs: the Lord will giue grace and glory, and no good thing will he withhold from them that walke vprightly.
