⁴ Hear, O Israel, The Lord our God is one Lord. ⁵ And you shall love the Lord your God with all your mind, and with all your soul, and all your strength. ⁶ And these words, all that I command you this day, shall be in your heart and in your soul. ⁷ And you shall teach them to your children, and you shall speak of them sitting in the house, and walking by the way, and lying down, and rising up. ⁸ And you shall fasten them for a sign upon your hand, and it shall be immoveable before your eyes. ⁹ And you⌃ shall write them on the lintels of your houses and of your gates.

²⁰ If you walk with wise men you shall be wise: but he that walks with fools shall be known.

⁵ For by the hearing of these a wise man will be wiser, and man of understanding will gain direction;

¹⁸ Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, who alone does wonders.

⁹ Give an opportunity to a wise [man], and he will be wiser: instruct a just man, and he will receive more [instruction].

⁴ His breath shall go forth, and he shall return to his earth; in that day all his thoughts shall perish.

¹⁷ Iron sharpens iron; and a man sharpens his friend's countenance.
