¹ And the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. ² And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made. And He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. ³ And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He had rested from all His work which God created to make. ⁴ These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created in the day that Jehovah God made the earth and the heavens. ⁵ And every shrub of the field was not yet on the earth, and every plant of the field had not yet sprung up, for Jehovah God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was no man to till the ground. ⁶ But there went up from the earth a mist and watered all the face of the ground. ⁷ And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. ⁸ And Jehovah God planted a garden eastward in Eden. And there He put the man whom He had formed. ⁹ And out of the ground Jehovah God caused to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food. The tree of life also was in the middle of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. ¹⁰ And a river went out of Eden to water the garden. And from there it was divided and became four heads. ¹¹ The name of the first is Pishon; that is it which surrounds all the land of Havilah, where there is gold. ¹² And the gold of that land is good. There is bdellium and the onyx stone. ¹³ And the name of the second river is Gihon; it is the one that surrounds the whole land of Cush. ¹⁴ And the name of the third river is Tigris; it is that which goes toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates. ¹⁵ And Jehovah God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to work it and keep it. ¹⁶ And Jehovah God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat of every tree in the garden, ¹⁷ but you shall not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. For in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die. ¹⁸ And Jehovah God said, It is not good that the man should be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him. ¹⁹ And out of the ground Jehovah God formed every animal of the field and every fowl of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. ²⁰ And Adam gave names to all the cattle, and to the birds of the air, and to every animal of the field. But there was not found a suitable helper for Adam. ²¹ And Jehovah God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept. And He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh underneath. ²² And Jehovah God made the rib (which He had taken from the man) into a woman. And He brought her to the man. ²³ And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called Woman because she was taken out of man. ²⁴ Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife and they shall be one flesh. ²⁵ And they were both naked, the man and his wife; and they were not ashamed.

²⁶ And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creepers creeping on the earth. ²⁷ And God created man in His image; in the image of God He created him. He created them male and female. ²⁸ And God blessed them. And God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply and fill the earth, and subdue it. And have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the heavens, and all animals that move upon the earth.

And God saw that it was good. ¹¹ And God said, Let the earth bring forth tender sprouts (the herb seeding seed and the fruit tree producing fruit after its kind, whose seed is in itself) upon the earth; and it was so. ¹² And the earth brought forth tender sprouts, the herb yielding seed after its kind, and the tree producing fruit after its kind, whose seed was in itself. And God saw that it was good. ¹³ And the evening and the morning were the third day. ¹⁴ And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to divide between the day and the night. And let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years. ¹⁵ And let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth. And it was so. ¹⁶ And God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the smaller light to rule the night, and the stars also. ¹⁷ And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth, ¹⁸ and to rule over the day and over the night; and to divide between the light and the darkness. And God saw that it was good. ¹⁹ And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. ²⁰ And God said, Let the waters swarm with swarmers having a living soul; and let birds fly over the earth on the face of the expanse of the heavens. ²¹ And God created great sea-animals, and every living soul that creeps with which the waters swarmed after their kind; and every winged fowl after its kind. And God saw that it was good. ²² And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters of the seas and let the fowl multiply in the earth. ²³ And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. ²⁴ And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after its kind, cattle, and creepers, and its beasts of the earth after its kind; and it was so. ²⁵ And God made the beasts of the earth after its kind, and cattle after their kind, and all creepers upon the earth after their kind. And God saw that it was good. ²⁶ And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creepers creeping on the earth. ²⁷ And God created man in His image; in the image of God He created him. He created them male and female. ²⁸ And God blessed them. And God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply and fill the earth, and subdue it. And have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the heavens, and all animals that move upon the earth. ²⁹ And God said, Behold! I have given you every herb seeding seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in which is the fruit of a tree seeding seed; to you it shall be for food. ³⁰ And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the heavens, and to every creeper on the earth which has in it a living soul every green plant is for food; and it was so. ³¹ And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

¹ A Psalm of David. The earth is Jehovah's, and the fullness of it; the world, and those who dwell in it.

¹⁴ I will praise You; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are marvelous and my soul knows it very well.

⁹ But as it is written, "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard," nor has it entered into the heart of man, "the things which God has prepared for those who love Him."

¹ In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

² He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. ³ He restores my soul; He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

⁷ But now ask the animals, and they shall teach you; and the birds of the air, and they shall tell you; ⁸ or speak to the earth, and it shall teach you; and the fish of the sea shall declare it to you; ⁹ who of all these does not know that the hand of Jehovah has done this?

²⁶ Lift up your eyes on high, and behold, who has created these, who brings out their host by number? He calls them all by names by the greatness of His might, for He is strong in power; not one is lacking.

¹⁷ For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth. And the things before will not be remembered, nor come to mind.

² Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shone.

¹¹ He has made everything beautiful in His time; also He has set eternity in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God makes from the beginning to the end.

²⁰ For the unseen things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being realized by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, for them to be without excuse.

⁵ He loves righteousness and judgment; the earth is full of the mercy of Jehovah.

¹ Bless Jehovah, O my soul. O Jehovah my God, You are very great; You have put on honor and majesty, ² covering Yourself with light as with a robe; and stretching out the heavens like a curtain; ³ He lays the beams of His upper rooms in the waters. He sets the clouds as His chariots; He walks on the wings of the wind; ⁴ He makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flaming fire. ⁵ He laid the earth on its foundations; it shall not be shaken forever. ⁶ You covered the deep as with a robe; the waters stand above the mountains. ⁷ At Your rebuke they flee; at the voice of Your thunder they hurry away. ⁸ They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys to the place which You have founded for them. ⁹ You have set a bound that they may not pass over, so that they do not turn again to cover the earth. ¹⁰ He sends the springs into the valleys; they flow between the hills. ¹¹ They give drink to every beast of the field; the wild asses break their thirst. ¹² By them the birds of the heavens will have their place of rest; they sing among the branches. ¹³ He waters the hills from His upper rooms; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works. ¹⁴ He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and plants for the service of man, to bring forth food out of the earth, ¹⁵ and wine cheers the heart of man, and oil makes his face shine, and bread sustains the heart of man. ¹⁶ The trees of Jehovah are full, the cedars of Lebanon which He has planted; ¹⁷ where the birds make their nests; the fir trees are the house of the stork. ¹⁸ The high hills are for the wild goats, and the rocks are a refuge for the badgers. ¹⁹ He appointed the moon for seasons; the sun knows its going down. ²⁰ You make darkness, and it is night, in which all the beasts of the forest creep forth. ²¹ The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from God. ²² The sun rises; they are gathered, and go to their dens to lie down. ²³ Man goes out to his work and to his labor until the evening. ²⁴ O Jehovah, how many are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all; the earth is full of Your riches. ²⁵ This is the great and wide sea, in which are creeping things without number, both small and great animals. ²⁶ There the ships go; You made this great sea animal to play in it. ²⁷ These all wait on You, that You may give them their food in due season. ²⁸ You give to them, they gather; You open Your hand; they are filled with good. ²⁹ You hide Your face, they are troubled; You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. ³⁰ You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; and You renew the face of the earth. ³¹ The glory of Jehovah shall endure forever; Jehovah shall rejoice in His works. ³² He looks on the earth, and it trembles; He touches the hills, and they smoke. ³³ I will sing to Jehovah as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. ³⁴ My thoughts of Him shall be sweet; I will be glad in Jehovah. ³⁵ Let the sinners perish from the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless Jehovah, O my soul. Praise Jehovah!

³¹ And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

³ All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.

¹ To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the expanse proclaims His handiwork.

¹⁶ For all things were created in Him, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers, all things were created through Him and for Him. ¹⁷ And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.
