¹ To the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. I cried to God with my voice, to God is my voice; and He gave ear to me. ² In the day of my trouble I sought Jehovah; my hand was poured in the night, and ceased not; my soul refused to be comforted. ³ I remembered God, and was troubled; I complained, and my spirit fainted. Selah. ⁴ You keep my eyes awake; I am troubled and I cannot speak. ⁵ I have thought on the days of old, the years of ages past. ⁶ I remember my song in the night; I speak with my own heart, and my spirit carefully searches. ⁷ Will the Lord cast off forever? And will He be favorable no more? ⁸ Is His mercy gone forever? Has His Word failed for all generations? ⁹ Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has He in anger shut up His tender mercies? Selah.

⁵⁵ I have remembered Your name, O Jehovah, in the night, and have kept Your Law.

¹⁰ And I said, This is my weakness, the years of the right hand of the Most High. ¹¹ I will remember the works of Jehovah; surely I will remember Your wonders of old. ¹² I will also think on all Your work, and talk of Your doings. ¹³ Your way, O God, is in holiness; who is so great a God as our God? ¹⁴ You are the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among the people. ¹⁵ You have with Your arm redeemed Your people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah. ¹⁶ The waters saw You, O God, the waters saw You; they were afraid; the depths also were troubled. ¹⁷ The clouds poured out water; the skies sent out a sound; Your arrows also flew here and there. ¹⁸ The voice of Your thunder was in the sky; the lightnings lit up the world; the earth trembled and shook. ¹⁹ Your way is in the sea, and Your path in the great waters, and Your footsteps are not known. ²⁰ You led Your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

¹ I am sought by those who asked not for Me; I am found by those who did not seek Me. I said, Behold Me, behold Me, to a nation not calling on My name. ² I have spread out My hands all the day to a rebellious people who walk in the way not good, after their own thoughts; ³ a people who without ceasing provoke Me to anger to My face; who sacrifice in gardens, and burn incense on the bricks; ⁴ a people who remain among the graves, and sleep in the tombs, who eat swine's flesh, and broth from hateful things in their vessels; ⁵ who say, Keep to yourself, do not come near me; for I am holier than you. These are a smoke in My nose, a fire that burns all the day. ⁶ Behold, it is written before Me; I will not be silent, except I will repay; yea, I will repay into their bosom ⁷ your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, says Jehovah, they that burned incense on the mountains, and blasphemed Me on the hills. And I will measure their former work into their bosom. ⁸ So says Jehovah, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, Do not destroy it, for a blessing is in it; so I will do to My servants, that I may not destroy them all. ⁹ And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah one who inherits My mountains; and My elect will inherit it, and My servants will dwell there. ¹⁰ And Sharon will be a fold of flocks, and the Valley of Achor a resting-place of herds for My people who have sought Me. ¹¹ But you are those who forsake Jehovah, who forget My holy mountain, who prepare a table for Fortune, and who furnish the drink offering to Fate. ¹² Therefore I will number you to the sword; and you will all bow down to the slaughter; because I called and you did not answer; when I spoke, you did not hear and did evil before My eyes, and chose that in which I did not delight. ¹³ So the Lord Jehovah says, Behold, My servants will eat, but you will be hungry. Behold, My servants will drink, but you will be thirsty. Behold, My servants will rejoice, but you will be ashamed. ¹⁴ Behold, My servants will sing for joy of heart, but you will cry for sorrow of heart, and will howl because of a breaking of spirit. ¹⁵ And you will leave your name for a curse to My elect; for the Lord Jehovah will kill you, and call His servants by another name. ¹⁶ He who blesses himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth. And he who swears in the earth will swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hidden from My eyes. ¹⁷ For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth. And the things before will not be remembered, nor come to mind. ¹⁸ But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. ¹⁹ I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and I will rejoice in My people; and the voice of weeping will no more be heard in her, nor the voice of crying be heard in her. ²⁰ There will not be an infant, nor an old man that has not filled his days. For the child will die a hundred years old; but the sinner who is a hundred years old will be despised. ²¹ And they will build houses and live in them; and they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit. ²² They will not build, and another live in them; they will not plant, and another eat. For like the days of a tree are the days of My people, and My elect will long enjoy the work of their hands. ²³ They will not labor in vain, nor bring forth for terror. For they are the seed of the beloved of Jehovah, and their offspring with them. ²⁴ And it will be, before they call I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear. ²⁵ The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox; and dust will be the food of the snake. They will not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, says Jehovah.

⁶³ saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while He was living, After three days I will rise again.

¹⁹ And He took bread and gave thanks, and He broke it and gave it to them, saying, This is My body which is given for you, this do in remembrance of Me.

²⁵ I have spoken these things to you, being present with you.

¹ James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes in the Dispersion, greeting: ² My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into different kinds of temptations, ³ knowing that the trying of your faith works patience. ⁴ But let patience have its perfect work, so that you may be perfect and entire, lacking nothing. ⁵ But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and with no reproach, and it shall be given to him. ⁶ But let him ask in faith, doubting nothing. For he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed. ⁷ For do not let that man think that he shall receive anything from the Lord; ⁸ he is a double-minded man, not dependable in all his ways. ⁹ But let the humble brother rejoice in his exaltation; ¹⁰ and the rich one rejoice in his humiliation, because he shall pass away as the flower of the grass. ¹¹ For the sun rose with the hot wind and dried up the grass, and its flower fell out, and the beauty of its appearance perished; so also the rich one will fade away in his ways. ¹² Blessed is the man who endures temptation, because having been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. ¹³ Let no one being tempted say, I am tempted from God. For God is not tempted by evils, and He tempts no one. ¹⁴ But each one is tempted by his lusts, being drawn away and seduced by them. ¹⁵ Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin. And sin, when it is fully formed, brings forth death. ¹⁶ Do not err, my beloved brothers. ¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness nor shadow of turning. ¹⁸ Of His own will He brought us forth with the Word of truth, for us to be a certain firstfruit of His creatures. ¹⁹ Therefore, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. ²⁰ For the wrath of man does not work out the righteousness of God. ²¹ Therefore putting aside all filthiness and overflowing of evil, receive in meekness the implanted Word, which is able to save your souls. ²² But become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. ²³ For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man studying his natural face in a mirror. ²⁴ For he studied himself and went his way, and immediately he forgot what he was like. ²⁵ But whoever looks into the perfect Law of liberty and continues in it, he is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work. This one shall be blessed in his doing. ²⁶ If anyone thinks to be religious among you, yet does not bridle his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is vain. ²⁷ Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit orphans and widows in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

⁹ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage. Do not be afraid, neither be dismayed. For Jehovah your God is with you in all places where you go.

⁹ Remember former things from forever; for I am God, and no other is God, even none like Me,

²⁵ In the same way He took the cup also, after supping, saying, "This cup is the New Covenant in My blood; as often as you drink it, do this in remembrance of Me."

¹⁵ Therefore, my brothers, stand fast and hold the teachings which you have been taught, whether by word or by our letter.

¹⁵ Can a woman forget her suckling child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, yet I will not forget you. ¹⁶ Behold, I have carved you on the palms of My hands; your walls are forever before Me.

¹ Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, while the evil days do not come, nor the years draw near, when you shall say, I have no pleasure in them.

⁵ Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent, and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and will remove your lampstand out of its place unless you repent.

²⁴ And giving thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body, which is broken for you; this do in remembrance of Me."

³⁵ I have shown you all things, that working in this way we ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

² And you shall remember all the way which Jehovah your God led you these forty years in the wilderness in order to humble you, to prove you, to know what is in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

² But I praise you, brothers, that you remember me in all things, and you keep the doctrines as I delivered them to you.

¹² you shall be on guard lest you forget Jehovah who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slaves.
