¹⁴ And the name of the third river is Tigris; it is that which goes toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

¹ Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand. ² When tasting the wine, Belshazzar commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple in Jerusalem, that the king and his rulers, his wives and his concubines, might drink from them. ³ Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God in Jerusalem. And the king, and his rulers, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them. ⁴ They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, and of bronze, of iron, of wood, and of stone. ⁵ At that moment fingers of a man's hand came out and wrote on the plaster of the wall of the king's palace across from the lampstand. And the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. ⁶ Then the king's face was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosened, and his knees knocked against one another. ⁷ The king cried aloud to bring in the conjurers, the Chaldeans, and the fortune-tellers. The king spoke and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whoever shall read this writing, and show me its meaning, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold around his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom. ⁸ Then all the king's wise men came in. But they could not read the writing, nor make the meaning known to the king. ⁹ Then King Belshazzar was greatly troubled, and his face was changing in him, and his lords were perplexed. ¹⁰ The queen came into the banquet house because of the king's words, and his nobles. And the queen spoke and said, O king, live forever. Do not let your thoughts trouble you, nor let your face be changed. ¹¹ There is a man in your kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods. And in the days of your father there was found in him light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods. Your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, your father the king, appointed him master of the horoscopists, conjurers, Chaldeans, and fortune-tellers, ¹² because an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, explaining of dreams, and revealing of hard sentences, and the unraveling of knots, were found in this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar. Now let Daniel be called, and he will reveal the meaning. ¹³ Then Daniel was brought in before the king. The king spoke and said to Daniel, Are you that Daniel who is of the exiled sons of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Judah? ¹⁴ I have even heard of you, that the spirit of the gods is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you. ¹⁵ And now the wise men and the conjurers have been brought in before me, that they might read this writing and make the meaning known to me. But they could not declare the meaning of the thing. ¹⁶ And I have heard of you that you can interpret meanings and unravel knots. Now if you can read the writing, and reveal its meaning to me, you shall be clothed with scarlet and have a chain of gold around your neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom. ¹⁷ Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let your gifts be to yourself, and give your rewards to another. Yet I will read the writing to the king, and make the meaning known to him. ¹⁸ O king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honor. ¹⁹ And for the majesty that He gave him, all people, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. He killed whom he would, and whom he would he kept alive. And whom he would, he set up; and whom he would, he put down. ²⁰ But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was put down from the throne of his kingdom, and they took his glory from him. ²¹ And he was driven from the sons of men. And his heart was made like the animals, and his dwelling was with the wild asses. They fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the heavens, until he knew that the Most High God rules in the kingdom of men, and that He appoints over it whomever He will. ²² And you his son, O Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, though you knew all this. ²³ But you have lifted up yourself against the Lord of Heaven. And they have brought the vessels of His house before you; and you, and your lords, your wives, and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver, and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see, nor hear, nor know. And you have not glorified the God in whose hand is your breath and all your ways. ²⁴ Then the part of the hand was sent from Him. And this writing was written. ²⁵ And this is the writing that was written, A MINA, A MINA, A SHEKEL, AND HALF-MINAS. ²⁶ This is the meaning of the thing: A MINA, God has numbered your kingdom and finished it. ²⁷ A SHEKEL, You are weighed in the balances and found wanting. ²⁸ HALF-MINAS, Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians. ²⁹ Then Belshazzar commanded, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet and a golden chain around his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom. ³⁰ In that night Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans was killed. ³¹ And Darius the Mede took the kingdom, being a son of sixty-two years.

² And you, Bethlehem Ephratah, you being least among the thousands of Judah, out of you He shall come forth to Me, to become Ruler in Israel, He whose goings forth have been from of old, from the days of eternity.

¹ A Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to Him to declare to His servants things which must shortly come to pass. And He signified it by sending His angel to His servant John, ² who bore record of the Word of God and of the testimony of Jesus Christ and of all the things that he saw. ³ Blessed is the one who reads and hears the Words of this prophecy, and the ones keeping the things written in it, for the time is near. ⁴ John to the seven churches which are in Asia. Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is coming; and from the seven spirits which are before His throne; ⁵ even from Jesus Christ the faithful Witness, the First-born from the dead and the Ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, ⁶ and made us kings and priests to God and His Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. ⁷ Behold, He comes with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, and those who pierced Him will see Him, and all the kindreds of the earth will wail because of Him. Even so, Amen. ⁸ I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. ⁹ I, John, who also am your brother and companion in the affliction, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the island that is called Patmos, for the Word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. ¹⁰ I came to be in the Spirit in the Lord's day and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, ¹¹ saying, I am the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last. Also, What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea. ¹² And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. ¹³ And having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands. And in the midst of the seven lampstands I saw One like the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the feet, and tied around the breast with a golden band. ¹⁴ His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow. And His eyes were like a flame of fire. ¹⁵ And His feet were like burnished brass having been fired in a furnace. And His voice was like the sound of many waters. ¹⁶ And He had seven stars in His right hand, and out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword. And His face was like the sun shining in its strength. ¹⁷ And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He laid His right hand upon me, saying to me, Do not fear, I am the First and the Last, ¹⁸ and the Living One, and I became dead, and behold, I am alive for ever and ever, Amen. And I have the keys of hell and of death. ¹⁹ Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be after this, ²⁰ the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand and the seven golden lampstands. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches.

⁴ From the wilderness and this Lebanon even to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.

²⁴ Every place on which the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours, from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even to the furthest sea shall your border be.

¹⁵ And Jehovah shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with His scorching wind He shall shake His hand over the River, and shall strike it into seven streams, and make one tread it with shoes.

¹ So says Jehovah to me, Go and buy for yourself a linen girdle, and put it on your loins, and do not put it in water. ² So I bought a girdle according to the Word of Jehovah, and put it on my loins. ³ And the Word of Jehovah came to me a second time, saying, ⁴ Take the girdle that you bought, which is on your loins, and arise. Go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock. ⁵ So I went and hid it by Euphrates, as Jehovah commanded me. ⁶ And it happened at the end of many days Jehovah said to me, Arise, go to Euphrates and take the girdle from there, which I commanded you to hide there. ⁷ Then I went to Euphrates and dug, and took the girdle from the place where I had hidden it. And, behold, the girdle was rotted; it was not good for anything.

⁴ And in the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Tigris,

¹⁸ In the same day Jehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying, I have given this land to your seed, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates,

¹² And the sixth angel poured out his vial on the great river Euphrates. And its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the rising of the sun might be prepared. ¹³ And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. ¹⁴ For they are spirits of demons, working miracles, which go forth to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that day, the great day of God Almighty. ¹⁵ Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is the one who watches and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.

¹⁴ saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, Loose the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.

¹⁰ And a river went out of Eden to water the garden. And from there it was divided and became four heads. ¹¹ The name of the first is Pishon; that is it which surrounds all the land of Havilah, where there is gold. ¹² And the gold of that land is good. There is bdellium and the onyx stone. ¹³ And the name of the second river is Gihon; it is the one that surrounds the whole land of Cush. ¹⁴ And the name of the third river is Tigris; it is that which goes toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

¹² And the sixth angel poured out his vial on the great river Euphrates. And its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the rising of the sun might be prepared.
