Matthew 7:1-29

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For as ye judge, so shall ye be judged: and with what measure ye mete, with the same shall it be measured to you again. 3 Why seest thou a mote in thy brother's eye, and perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or why sayest thou to thy brother, 'Suffer me to pluck out the mote out of thine eye'; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye. 5 "Hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to pluck out the mote out of thy brother's eye. 6 Give not that which is holy to dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they tread them under their feet, and the other turn again and all to rend you. 7 "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For whosoever asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9 Is there any man among you which, if his son asked him bread, would offer him a stone? 10 Or if he asked fish, would he proffer him a serpent? 11 If ye then, which are evil, can give to your children good gifts, how much more shall your father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask of him? 12 "Therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, even so do ye to them: this is the law and the prophets. 13 Enter in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 But strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15 "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns? Or figs of thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth bad fruit: nor yet a bad tree can bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit shall be hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21 "Not all they that say unto me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter in to the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth my father's will which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not in thy name prophesied? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name have done many miracles?' 23 And then will I knowledge unto them, that I never knew them: 'Depart from me, ye workers of iniquity.' 24 "Whosoever heareth of me these sayings, and doeth the same, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house on a rock: 25 And abundance of rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that same house, and it fell not: because it was grounded on the rock. 26 And whosoever heareth of me these sayings, and doeth them not the same, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And abundance of rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell: and great was the fall of it. 28 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: 29 For he taught them as one having power, and not as the scribes.

Matthew 15:1-39

1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees from Jerusalem, saying, 2 "Why do thy disciples transgress the traditions of the elders? For they wash not their hands, when they eat bread." 3 He answered, and said unto them, "Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God, through your traditions? 4 For God commanded, saying, 'Honour thy father and mother,' and, 'He that curseth father or mother, shall suffer death.' 5 But ye say, 'Every man shall say to his father or mother: That which thou desirest of me to help thee with, is given God.' 6 And so shall he not honour his father or his mother. And thus have ye made, that the commandment of God is without effect, through your traditions. 7 Hypocrites; well prophesied of you Isaiah, saying, 8 'This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouths, and honoureth me with their lips, howbeit their hearts are far from me: 9 But in vain they worship me, teaching doctrines which are nothing but men's precepts.'" 10 And he called the people unto him, and said to them, "Hear and understand. 11 That which goeth into the mouth, defileth not the man: but that which cometh out of the mouth, defileth the man." 12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, "Perceivest thou not, how that the Pharisees are offended in hearing this saying?" 13 He answered, and said, "All plants which my heavenly father hath not planted, shall be plucked up by the roots. 14 Let them alone, they be the blind leaders of the blind. If the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch." 15 Then answered Peter and said to him, "Declare unto us this parable." 16 Then said Jesus, "Are ye yet without an understanding? 17 Perceive ye not, that whatsoever goeth in at the mouth, descendeth down into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, breaking of wedlock, whoredom, theft, false witness-bearing, blasphemy. 20 These are the things which defile a man. But to eat with unwashen hands, defileth not a man." 21 And Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, a woman which was a Canaanite came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, "Have mercy on me Lord, thou son of David, my daughter is piteously vexed with a devil." 23 And he gave her never a word to answer. Then came to him his disciples, and besought him saying, "Send her away, for she followeth us crying." 24 He answered, and said, "I am not sent, but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel." 25 Then she came and worshipped him, saying, "Master, help me." 26 He answered and said, "It is not good to take the children's bread, and to cast it to whelps." 27 She answered and said, "It is truth, nevertheless the whelps eat of the crumbs, which fall from their masters' table." 28 Then Jesus answered, and said unto her, "O woman great is thy faith, be it to thee, even as thou desirest." And her daughter was made whole even at that same hour. 29 Then Jesus went away from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee, and went up in to a mountain, and sat down there. 30 And much people came unto him, having with them halt, blind, dumb, maimed, and other many: and cast them down at Jesus' feet. And he healed them, 31 insomuch that the people wondered, to see the dumb speak, the maimed whole; and the halt to go, the blind to see. And they glorified the God of Israel. 32 Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said, "I have compassion on the people, because they have continued with me now three days, and have nought to eat: and I will not let them depart fasting lest they perish in the way." 33 And his disciples said unto him, "Whence should we get so much bread in the wilderness as should suffice so great a multitude?" 34 And Jesus said unto them, "How many loaves have ye?" And they said, "Seven, and a few little fishes." 35 And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground; 36 And took the seven loaves, and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. 37 And they did all eat, and were sufficed. And they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full. 38 And yet they that ate were four thousand men, beside women and children. 39 And he sent away the people, and took ship and came into the parts of Magdala.

1 Corinthians 10:23

23 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient. All things are lawful to me, but all things edify not.

Luke 6:37

37 "Judge not and ye shall not be judged. Condemn not: and ye shall not be condemned. Forgive, and ye shall be forgiven.

John 4:23-24

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the father in spirit, and in truth. For verily, such the father requireth to worship him. 24 God is a spirit, and they that worship him, must worship him in spirit, and truth."

Romans 14:16

16 Cause not your treasure to be evil spoken of.

1 Timothy 2:1-15

1 I exhort therefore that above all things, prayers, supplications, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be had for all men: 2 for kings, and for all that are in authority that we may live a quiet and a peaceable life, in all godliness and honesty. 3 For that is good and accepted in the sight of god our saviour, 4 which will have all men saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and man, which is the man Christ Jesus, 6 which gave himself a ransom for all men, that it should be testified at his time; 7 whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle — I tell the truth in Christ and lie not — being the teacher of the gentiles in faith and verity. 8 I will, therefore, that the men pray every where, lifting up pure hands without wrath, or doubting. 9 Likewise also the women, that they array themselves in comely apparel with shamefastness, and discreet behavior, not with broided hair, other gold, or pearls, or costly array: 10 but with such as becometh women that profess the worshipping of God through good works. 11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 I suffer not a woman to teach, neither to have authority over the man: but for to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, and then Eve. 14 Also Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived, and was in transgression. 15 Notwithstanding, through bearing of children they shall be saved, so they continue in faith, love, and holiness with discretion.

Proverbs 1:1-33

1 The proverbs of Solomon, the son of David king of Israel: 2 To learn wisdom, instruction, understanding, prudence, 3 righteousness, judgment and equity. 4 That the very babes might have wit, and that young men might have knowledge and understanding. 5 By hearing, the wise man shall come by more wisdom: 6 and he that is endued with understanding shall obtain wit to perceive a parable, and the interpretation thereof; the words of the wise, and the dark speeches of the same. 7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. But fools despise wisdom and instruction. 8 My son, hear thy father's doctrine, and forsake not the law of thy mother: 9 for that shall bring grace unto thy head, and shall be a chain about thy neck. 10 My son, consent not unto sinners, 11 if they entice thee, and say, "Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, and lurk privily for the innocent without a cause: 12 Let us swallow them up like the hell, let us devour them quick and whole, as those that go down into the pit. 13 So shall we find all manner of costly riches, and fill our houses with spoils. 14 Cast in thy lot among us, we shall have all one purse." 15 My son, walk not thou with them, refrain thy foot from their ways. 16 For their feet run to evil, and are hasty to shed blood. 17 But in vain is the net laid forth before the bird's eyes. 18 Yea, they themselves lay wait one for another's blood, and one of them would slay another. 19 These are the ways of all such as be covetous, that one would ravish another's life. 20 Wisdom crieth without and putteth forth her voice in the streets. 21 She calleth before the congregation in the open gates, and showeth her words through the city, saying, 22 "O ye children, how long will ye love childishness? How long will the scorners delight in scorning, and the unwise be enemies unto knowledge? 23 O turn you unto my correction: lo, I will express my mind unto you, and make you understand my words. 24 Seeing then that I have called, and ye refused it: I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded it, 25 but all my counsels have ye despised and set my corrections to naught. 26 Therefore shall I also laugh in your destruction, and mock you, when the thing that ye fear cometh upon you: 27 even when the thing that ye be afraid of, falleth in suddenly like a storm, and your misery like a tempest: yea, when trouble and heaviness cometh upon you. 28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not hear: they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me. 29 And that because they hated knowledge, and received not the fear of the LORD, 30 but abhorred my counsel, and despised my correction. 31 Therefore shall they eat the fruits of their own way, and be filled with their own counsels: 32 for the turning away of the unwise shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall be their own destruction. 33 But who so hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and have enough without any fear of evil."
