⁶ And when the Lord walked before him, he cried: Lord Lord God full of compassion and mercy, which are not lightly angry but abundaunt in mercy and truth, ⁷ and kepest mercye in store for thousandes, & forgeueste wyckednes, trespace, and synne (for there is no man innocent before the) and vysitest the wyckednes of the father vpon the chyldren and vpon chyldrens chyldren, euen vnto the thyrd and fourth generation.

²² A merye hert maketh a lusty age, but a sorowful mind dryeth vp the bones.

²⁸ Knowest thou not, or hast thou not hearde, that the euerlastynge God the Lorde whiche made all the corners of the earth, is nether weery nor faynt, & that his wysdome can not be comprehended, ²⁹ but that he geueth strength vnto the weery, and power vnto the faynte? ³⁰ Chyldren are weery and faynt, and the strongest men fall: ³¹ But vnto them that haue the Lorde before their eyes, shal strength be encreased, Aegles wynges shall growe vpon them: When they runne they shall not fal: and when they go, they shal not be weery.

¹² O teach vs to numbre our daies, that we maye apply our hertes vnto wisdome.

²⁵ I haue bene yonge, and now am olde: yet sawe I neuer the righteous forsaken, nor hys sede to seke their bread.

¹⁴ plenteous and grene. ¹⁵ That they maye shew, how true the Lorde my strength is, and that there is no vnrighteousnesse in hym.

⁵ when I call to remembraunce the vnfayned fayth, that is in the, whiche dwelte fyrste in thy graundmother Loys, and in thy mother Eunica: and am assured that it dwelleth in the also.

¹⁷ But the mercyfull goodnesse of the Lorde endureth for euer and euer, vpon them that feare him, and his righteousnesse vpon their chyldren.

²² Which their chylders chyldren shal haue in possession, for the riches of the synner is layed vp for the iuste.

⁴ I whych shall beare you vnto youre laste age: I haue made you, I wyll also noryshe you, beare you and saue you.

⁹ Take hede to thy selfe therfore only & kepe thy soule diligently, that thou forget not the thynges whych thyne eyes haue sene, & that they departe not oute of thyne herte, all the dayes of thy lyfe: but teach them thy sonnes and thy sonnes sonnes.

¹ Bvt speake thou that whiche becommeth wholsome learnyng. ² That the elder men be sober, honest, discret, sounde in the fayth, in loue, and in pacience. ³ And the elder women lykewyse, that they be in such rayment as becommeth holynes, not false accusars, not geuen to muche drynkynge, but teachers of honest thinges ⁴ to make the yong women sobre mynded, to loue theyr husbandes, to loue their chyldren, ⁵ to be dyscret, chast, huswyfly, good & obedyent vnto theyr owne husbandes, that the word of God be not euyl spoken of.

⁴ One generacion shall prayse thy workes vnto another, and declare thy power.

³¹ Age is a crowne of worshippe, if it be founde in the waye of ryghtuousnes.

⁶ Chylders chyldren are a worshyppe vnto the elders, & the fathers are the honoure of the children.
