⁹ You rule the pride of the sea. When its waves rise up, you calm them.

¹⁰ He has described a boundary on the surface of the waters, and to the confines of light and darkness.

¹ Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD from the heavens. Praise him in the heights. ² Praise him, all his angels. Praise him, all his army. ³ Praise him, sun and moon. Praise him, all you shining stars. ⁴ Praise him, you heavens of heavens, You waters that are above the heavens. ⁵ Let them praise the name of the LORD, For he commanded, and they were created. ⁶ He has also established them forever and ever. He has made a decree which will not pass away. ⁷ Praise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures, and all depths. ⁸ Lightning and hail, snow and clouds; stormy wind, fulfilling his word; ⁹ mountains and all hills; fruit trees and all cedars; ¹⁰ wild animals and all livestock; small creatures and flying birds; ¹¹ kings of the earth and all peoples; princes and all judges of the earth; ¹² both young men and maidens; old men and children: ¹³ let them praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is exalted. His glory is above the earth and the heavens. ¹⁴ He has lifted up the horn of his people, the praise of all his faithful ones; even of the children of Israel, a people near to him. Praise the LORD.

²² And immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and to go ahead of him to the other side, while he sent the crowds away. ²³ And after he had sent the crowds away, he went up into the mountain by himself to pray. When evening had come, he was there alone. ²⁴ But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, battered by the waves, for the wind was against it. ²⁵ And in the watch between three and six in the morning, he came to them, walking on the sea. ²⁶ And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It's a ghost." and they screamed with fear.

²⁶ And God said, "Let us make humankind in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the flying creatures of the sky, and over the tame animals, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creature that crawls on the earth." And it was so.

⁷ "But ask the animals, now, and they shall teach you; the birds of the sky, and they shall tell you. ⁸ Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach you. The fish of the sea shall declare to you. ⁹ Who doesn't know that in all these, the hand of the LORD has done this, ¹⁰ in whose hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all humankind?

⁸ the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes through the paths of the seas.

³⁵ Thus says the LORD, who gives the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who stirs up the sea, so that its waves roar; the LORD of hosts is his name:

⁶ To him who spread out the earth above the waters; for his loving kindness endures forever:
