Proverbs 3:1-35

1 My son, do not forget my law. Let your heart obey my commandments. 2 My precepts will give you a long, peaceful, and prosperous life. 3 Do not let kindness and truth leave you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. 4 You will find kindness and understanding in the sight of God and man. 5 Trust in Jehovah with all your heart. Do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge (recognize) Him and He will make your paths straight. 7 Do not think you are wise enough. Respect Jehovah and turn away from evil. 8 This will make you healthy, and you will feel strong. 9 Honor Jehovah with your wealth and give him the best of all you have. 10 Your barns will be filled with plenty. Your vats will overflow with new wine. 11 My son, do not despise Jehovah’s discipline or be weary of his correction. 12 For whom Jehovah loves He reproves, just like a father corrects the son he loves dearly. (Hebrews 12:6) 13 How blessed is the man who finds wisdom. Happy is the man who gains understanding. 14 The profit from wisdom is better than the profit from silver. Her gain is better than fine gold. 15 She (wisdom) is more precious than pearls. Nothing you desire compares with wisdom. 16 Long life is in her right hand. In her left hand are riches and honor. 17 Her ways are pleasant ways. All her paths are peace. 18 She (wisdom) is a tree of life to those who hold her. Happy are all who keep her. 19 In wisdom Jehovah founded the earth. In understanding he established the heavens. 20 By his knowledge the depths are broken up and the clouds drop down the dew. 21 My son, do not let them depart from your eyes. Keep sound wisdom and discretion! 22 They will mean life to you and adornment to your neck. 23 You will walk in your way safely. Your foot will not stumble. 24 When you lie down you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. 25 Do not be afraid of sudden fear or trouble from the wicked when it comes. 26 Jehovah will be your confidence. He will keep your foot from stumbling. 27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due when it is in the power of your hand to do it. 28 If you can help them now, never tell your neighbors: »Wait until tomorrow.« 29 Do not plan anything that will hurt your neighbors. They live beside you, trusting you. 30 Argue with no one if they have never done you any harm. 31 Do not be jealous of violent people or decide to act as they do. 32 Jehovah hates people who do evil. He takes righteous people into his confidence. 33 Jehovah puts a curse on the homes of the wicked, but blesses the homes of the just. 34 He has no use for conceited people. He shows loving kindness to the humble. 35 Wise people will inherit glory. But disgrace is the legacy of stupid (foolish) people.

Isaiah 40:28-31

28 »Do you not know? Have you not heard? JEHOVAH IS THE EVERLASTING GOD, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and no one can measure (find out) his understanding. 29 »He gives strength to those who grow tired and increases the strength of those who are weak. 30 Even young people grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall. 31 »Those who hope in Jehovah will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary! They will walk and not be faint.«

Luke 15:7

7 »It is the same. I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine good people who do not need to repent.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

19 What? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit? That one (Greek: »hos he ho« which, that one) is in you. You received it from God. You are not your own. 20 You are bought with a price! Therefore glorify God in your body.

7 Let each man do according as he has purposed in his heart: not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver.

Matthew 6:1-4

1 »Be careful! Do not display your righteousness (good works) before men to be noticed by them. If you do, you will have no reward with your heavenly Father. 2 »Do not loudly announce it when you give to the poor. The hypocrites do this in the houses of worship and on the streets. They do this to be praised by men. Believe me, they have already been paid in full. 3 »When you give gifts, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. 4 »Your giving will be in secret and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Romans 12:11

2 Corinthians 12:9

9 He told me: »My grace is sufficient for you for my strength is made perfect in weakness.« Most gladly therefore, I would rather glory in my infirmities (frailities), that the power of Christ may rest upon me (cover me like a tent) (descend upon me) (abide with me). (Isaiah 40:29-31)

Psalms 34:17-20

17 Righteous people cry out. Jehovah hears and rescues them from all their troubles. 18 Jehovah is near to those whose hearts and minds are humble and contrite. He saves the broken hearted and crushed in spirit. 19 The righteous person has many troubles, but Jehovah rescues him from all of them. 20 Jehovah guards all of his bones. Not one of them is broken.
