³⁷ If I do not do the works of my Father, do not believe me.

⁴⁴ No man can come to me, unless the Father who sent me draws him: and I will raise him up on the last day.

⁸ Beware, lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, which depend on the traditions of men and the rudiments of the world, and not on Christ.

¹⁴ But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

¹ Now the Spirit expressly says that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; ² Taught by hypocritical liars; who have their consciences seared as with a hot iron; ³ Forbidding marriage, and commanding abstinence from foods which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. ⁴ For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be refused, if it is received with thanksgiving: ⁵ For it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.

¹⁹ Because that which may be known about God is evident to them; for God has shown it to them. ²⁰ For since the creation of the world his invisible nature, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly seen, being understood by the things that have been made; so that they are without excuse:

²⁴ You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
