⁸ I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will guide you with mine eye. ⁹ Be all of you not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto you. ¹⁰ Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusts in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.

¹⁴ Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

²² Cast your burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain you: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

¹ But now thus says the LORD that created you, O Jacob, and he that formed you, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name; you are mine. ² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you: when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon you. ³ For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour: I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for you.

²⁷ Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

¹ Let not your heart be troubled: all of you believe in God, believe also in me. ² In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. ³ And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there all of you may be also. ⁴ And where I go all of you know, and the way all of you know.

⁷ For God has not given us the spirit (o. pneuma) of fear; but of power, and of love, (o. agape) and of a sound mind.

⁵ If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally, and reproaches not; and it shall be given him.

⁹ Have not I commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed: for the LORD your God is with you anywhere you go.

¹⁰ But the God of all grace, who has called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that all of you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you.

⁶ So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

¹³ I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

⁶ Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

⁶ Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: ⁷ Casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you.

²⁵ Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what all of you shall eat, or what all of you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what all of you shall put on. Is not the life more than food, and the body than raiment? ²⁶ Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are all of you not much better than they? ²⁷ Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? ²⁸ And why take all of you thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: ²⁹ And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. ³⁰ Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O all of you of little faith? ³¹ Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? ³² (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that all of you have need of all these things. ³³ But seek all of you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. ³⁴ Take therefore no thought for the next day: for the next day shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
