²⁸ All of you shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

²⁶ My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.

¹² That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the embodiment of a palace:

¹¹ For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

²⁹ Let no corrupt communication (o. logos) proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

¹ I plead to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that all of you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. ² And be not conformed to this world: but be all of you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that all of you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

¹³ There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that all of you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that all of you may be able to bear it.

¹ Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. ² Honour your father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; ³ That it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth. ⁴ And, all of you fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

²² Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, love, (o. agape) peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

¹ Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when you shall say, I have no pleasure in them;

⁹ Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to your word.

⁹ Rejoice, O young man, in your youth; and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes: but know you, that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.

⁴ Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, ⁵ Before I formed you in the belly I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you, and I ordained you a prophet unto the nations. ⁶ Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. ⁷ But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for you shall go to all that I shall send you, and whatsoever I command you you shall speak. ⁸ Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with you to deliver you, says the LORD.

¹² Let no man despise your youth; but be you an example of the believers, in word, (o. logos) in conversation, in love, (o. agape) in spirit, (o. pneuma) in faith, in purity.
