¹² Thou hast seen a man wise in his own eyes, More hope of a fool than of him!

¹¹ The wisdom of a man hath deferred his anger, And his glory is to pass over transgression.

¹ And we ought—we who are strong—to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves; ² for let each one of us please the neighbour for good, unto edification,

¹⁰ And thou, why dost thou judge thy brother? or again, thou, why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand at the tribunal of the Christ; ¹¹ for it hath been written, `I live! saith the Lord—to Me bow shall every knee, and every tongue shall confess to God;' ¹² so, then, each of us concerning himself shall give reckoning to God;

³⁵ all things I did shew you, that, thus labouring, it behoveth us to partake with the ailing, to be mindful also of the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.'

¹² Put on, therefore, as choice ones of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humble-mindedness, meekness, long-suffering, ¹³ forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any one with any one may have a quarrel, as also the Christ did forgive you—so also ye; ¹⁴ and above all these things, have love, which is a bond of the perfection,

³² and become one to another kind, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, according as also God in Christ did forgive you.

¹ Therefore, thou art inexcusable, O man—every one who is judging—for in that in which thou dost judge the other, thyself thou dost condemn, for the same things thou dost practise who art judging, ² and we have known that the judgment of God is according to truth, upon those practising such things. ³ And dost thou think this, O man, who art judging those who such things are practising, and art doing them, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? ⁴ or the riches of His goodness, and forbearance, and long-suffering, dost thou despise? —not knowing that the goodness of God doth lead thee to reformation!

¹² so speak ye and so do, as about by a law of liberty to be judged, ¹³ for the judgment without kindness is to him not having done kindness, and exult doth kindness over judgment.

³¹ Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil-speaking, be put away from you, with all malice, ³² and become one to another kind, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, according as also God in Christ did forgive you.

¹⁹ So then, my brethren beloved, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger, ²⁰ for the wrath of a man the righteousness of God doth not work;

¹¹ Speak not one against another, brethren; he who is speaking against a brother, and is judging his brother, doth speak against law, and doth judge law, and if law thou dost judge, thou art not a doer of law but a judge; ¹² one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy; thou—who art thou that dost judge the other?
