Note: In 2 Corinthians 4:6, the RV rightly has "said," followed by the quotation "Light shall shine out of darkness."

signifies "to enjoin upon, to charge with;" it is used in the Middle Voice in the sense of commanding, Matthew 19:7; Matthew 28:20; Mark 10:3; Mark 13:34; John 8:5; John 15:14, John 15:17; Acts 13:47; Hebrews 9:20; Hebrews 11:22, "gave commandment." See CHARGE, ENJOIN.
