Joshua 23 It happened after many days, when Yahweh had given rest to Israel from their enemies all around, and Joshua was old and well advanced in years,

1 H310 It happened after H7227 many H3117 days, H3068 when Yahweh H5117 had given rest H3478 to Israel H341 from their enemies H5439 all around, H3091 and Joshua H2204 was old H935 and well advanced H3117 in years,

2 H3091 that Joshua H7121 called H3478 for all Israel, H2205 for their elders H7218 and for their heads, H8199 and for their judges H7860 and for their officers, H559 and said H2204 to them, "I am old H935 and well advanced H3117 in years.

3 H7200 You have seen H3068 all that Yahweh H430 your God H6213 has done H1471 to all these nations H6440 because H3068 of you; for it is Yahweh H430 your God H3898 who has fought for you.

4 H7200 Behold, H5307 I have allotted H1471 to you these nations H7604 that remain, H5159 to be an inheritance H7626 for your tribes, H3383 from the Jordan, H1471 with all the nations H3772 that I have cut off, H1419 even to the great H3220 sea H3996 toward the going down of the sun.

5 H3068 Yahweh H430 your God H1920 will thrust H6440 them out from before H3423 you, and drive H6440 them from out of your sight. H3423 You shall possess H776 their land, H3068 as Yahweh H430 your God H1696 spoke to you.

6 H3966 "Therefore be very H2388 courageous H8104 to keep H6213 and to do H3789 all that is written H5612 in the book H8451 of the law H4872 of Moses, H5493 that you not turn H3225 aside from it to the right hand H8040 or to the left;

12 H7725 "But if you do at all H7725 go back, H1692 and hold H3499 fast to the remnant H1471 of these nations, H7604 even these who remain H2859 among you, and make marriages H935 with them, and go in to them, and they to you;

13 H3045 know H3045 for a certainty H3068 that Yahweh H430 your God H3254 will no longer H1471 drive these nations H3423 from out H6440 of your sight; H6341 but they shall be a snare H4170 and a trap H7850 to you, a scourge H6654 in your sides, H6796 and thorns H5869 in your eyes, H6 until you perish H2896 from off this good H127 land H3068 which Yahweh H430 your God H5414 has given you.

14 H3117 "Behold, today H1980 I am going H1870 the way H776 of all the earth. H3045 You know H3824 in all your hearts H5315 and in all your souls H259 that not one H1697 thing H5307 has failed H2896 of all the good H1697 things H3068 which Yahweh H430 your God H1696 spoke H935 concerning you. All have happened H259 to you. Not one H1697 thing H5307 has failed of it.

15 H2896 It shall happen that as all the good H1697 things H935 have come H3068 on you of which Yahweh H430 your God H1696 spoke H3068 to you, so Yahweh H935 will bring H7451 on you all the evil H1697 things, H8045 until he has destroyed H2896 you from off this good H127 land H3068 which Yahweh H430 your God H5414 has given you,

16 H5674 when you disobey H1285 the covenant H3068 of Yahweh H430 your God, H6680 which he commanded H1980 you, and go H5647 and serve H312 other H430 gods, H7812 and bow H639 down yourselves to them. Then the anger H3068 of Yahweh H2734 will be kindled H6 against you, and you will perish H4120 quickly H2896 from off the good H776 land H5414 which he has given to you."
