9 Furthermore, we had fathers of our flesh, who chastened us, and we gave them reverence; shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live?
10 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed good to them; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
11 Now all chastening for the present indeed seems not joyous, but grievous; but afterward, it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness, to those who have been exercised thereby.
