Matthew 12:3-7 And he said to them: Have ye not read what David did, when he hungered, himself and those with him;

ABU⁽ⁱ⁾ ³ And he said to them: Have ye not read what David did, when he hungered, himself and those with him; ⁴ how he entered into the house of God, and ate the show-bread, which it was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those with him, but for the priests alone? ⁵ Or have ye not read in the law, that on the sabbath the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? ⁶ But I say to you, that a greater than the temple is here. ⁷ But if ye had known what this means, I desire mercy and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the blameless.
