1. of ׳י's purposes Job 42:2 chiefly in punishment (compare זָמַם, זִמָּה) Jer 23:20; Jer 30:24; Jer 51:11(|| זמם vJer 51:12).

2. power of devising, discretion Prov 1:4 (|| דַּעַת), Prov 2:11 (|| תְּבוּנָה), Prov 3:21 (|| תֻּשִׁיָּה), Prov 5:2 (|| דַּעַת); דַּעַת מְזִמּוֺת Prov 8:12.

3. a. evil thoughts of men Ps 10:4, evil devices of men Job 21:27 (|| מחשׁבות), Ps 10:2; Ps 21:12 (both with חָשַׁב).
