BIB⁽ⁱ⁾ ³¹ Σίμων (Simon), Σίμων (Simon), ἰδοὺ (Behold), ὁ (-) Σατανᾶς (Satan) ἐξῃτήσατο (demanded to have) ὑμᾶς (all of you) τοῦ (-) σινιάσαι (to sift) ὡς (like) τὸν (-) σῖτον (wheat); ³² ἐγὼ (I) δὲ (however) ἐδεήθην (begged) περὶ (for) σοῦ (you), ἵνα (that) μὴ (not) ἐκλίπῃ (may fail) ἡ (the) πίστις (faith) σου (of you); καὶ (and) σύ (you), ποτε (when) ἐπιστρέψας (you have turned back), στήρισον (strengthen) τοὺς (the) ἀδελφούς (brothers) σου (of you).” ³³ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) εἶπεν (he said) αὐτῷ (to Him), “Κύριε (Lord), μετὰ (with) σοῦ (You) ἕτοιμός (ready) εἰμι (I am) καὶ (both) εἰς (to) φυλακὴν (prison) καὶ (and) εἰς (to) θάνατον (death) πορεύεσθαι (to go).” ³⁴ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) εἶπεν (He said), “Λέγω (I tell) σοι (you) Πέτρε (Peter), οὐ (not) φωνήσει (will crow) σήμερον (today) ἀλέκτωρ (the rooster), ἕως (until) τρίς (three times) με (Me) ἀπαρνήσῃ (you will deny) 〈μὴ〉 (not) εἰδέναι (knowing).”
