Matthew 27:24 Ἰδὼν (Having seen) δὲ (now) ὁ (-) Πιλᾶτος (Pilate) ὅτι (that) οὐδὲν (nothing) ὠφελεῖ (it availed), ἀλλὰ (but) μᾶλλον (rather) θόρυβος (a riot) γίνεται (is arising), λαβὼν (having taken) ὕδωρ (water), ἀπενίψατο (he washed) τὰς (the) χεῖρας (hands) ἀπέναντι* (before) τοῦ (the) ὄχλου (crowd), λέγων (saying), “Ἀθῷός (Guiltless) εἰμι (I am) ἀπὸ (of) τοῦ (the) αἵματος (blood) τούτου (of this). ὑμεῖς (For yourselves) ὄψεσθε (you will see).”
