Isaiah 49:9-26

ECB(i) 9 to say to the bound, Come! To them in darkness, Expose! They graze in the ways with their pastures in all the barrens: 10 they neither famish nor thirst; neither glare nor sun smites them: for he who mercies them, drives them; and by the springs of water he guides them. 11 And I set all my mountains, a way, and my highways, exalted. 12 Behold, these come from afar; and behold, these from the north and from the seaward; and these from the land of Sinim. 13 Shout, O heavens! And twirl, O earth! And break forth into shouting, O mountains! For Yah Veh sighs over his people and mercies his humbled. 14 And Siyon says, Yah Veh forsook me! and, Adonay forgot me! 15 Forgets a woman her suckling? Mercies she not the son of her belly? Yes, they forget; but I - I forget you not. 16 Behold, I engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually in front of me. 17 Your sons hasten; your demolishers and they who parched you go from you. 18 Lift up your eyes all round, and see: all these gather and come to you. I live - an oracle of Yah Veh surely you, as an ornament, enrobe them all, and bind them as a bride. 19 For your parched areas and your desolated and the land of your destruction are even now too restricted by reason of the settlers; and they who swallow you are far removed. 20 Again the sons of your bereavements say in your ears, The place is too tribulated for me: approach me, and I settle down. 21 Then you say in your heart, Who birthed me these, seeing I aborted and am sterile - an exile, turned aside? And who nourished these? Behold, I alone survive; These - whence are they? 22 Thus says Adonay Yah Veh, Behold, I lift my hand to the goyim and lift my ensign to the people: and they bring your sons in the bosom and bear your daughters on their shoulders: 23 and sovereigns become your nurturers and their governesses your sucklers: they prostrate to you with their nostrils toward the earth and lick up the dust of your feet; and you know I - Yah Veh: for they who await me shame not. 24 Take they the prey from the mighty? Or rescue the captive of the just? 25 For thus says Yah Veh, Even the captives of the mighty are taken and the prey of the tyrant is rescued: for I contend with him who contends with you and I save your sons: 26 and they who oppress you, I feed with their own flesh; and intoxicate with their own blood as with squeezed juice: that all flesh know I - Yah Veh your Saviour and your Redeemer, the Almighty One of Yaaqov.
